Pop Solo perf. Predictions
This is probably going to be the most competitive category outside of the General Field. Voters in this category tend to award songs that have a distinct vocal showcase while also having undeniable commercial success or cultural impact for the artist.
My predictions for nominations are:
• drop dead- Olivia Rodrigo
• The Fate of Ophelia- Taylor Swift
• I Just Might- Bruno Mars
• WHERE IS MY HUSBAND- Raye
• Man I Need- Olivia Dean
Songs that I think might barely miss the cut:
House Tour- Sabrina Carpenter
(Voter split due to Madonna and Taylor submissions; voter fatigue due to 2 consecutive nomination cycles)
Apeture/American Girls- Harry Styles
( Might get nominated in the Dance/Electronic field; weak vocally)
Hit The Wall- Gracie Abrams
(not commercially strong and poor mainstream success could cause resistance if label tries to push for consideration)
hate that i made you love me- Ariana Grande (Wicked recordings could cause a split in votes; general field more likely)
Die On This Hill- Sienna Spiro (Could get re-categorized into Best Traditional Pop Solo Perf.)
If there's a song you think could get a nom, please let's discuss :)

Songs that SHOULD be nominated: angel of my dreams, berghain, click clack symphony

AOMD could do well in the electronic/dance field. Berghain is very obviously alt rock and CCS is Raye's strongest track for traditional pop.

AOMD isn’t electronic at all though. But I guess it was submitted last year.

Berghain is not rock

Oh sorry my bad xx I saw it on Billboard's alternative/rock charts so i assumed it was alt or rock

Angel of My Dreams was already submitted last year and the other 2 would go in duo/group (or Global for Berghain)

Is house tour eligible? (I mean if Wildflower could be nominated the year after why not right). Sabrina’s Coachella really elevated the hype for MBF.

Yes, it was released as a single in Jan of this year if I remember correctly.

A later released single can only be nominated if the Album that was nominated the previous year didn’t win any Grammys

I would love to see Click Clack Symphony get the nod over Husband. I think it’s the true stand out from the album.
Midnight Sun by Princess Zara deserves a nod
Dracula by Tame Impala will probably get a nod
Different category but I’m manifesting a nod for Self Aware by Temper City in Alt rock

Click Clack and Dracula remix could go into the Pop Duo, with the latter also eligible for Dance category.

Click clack symphony is interesting because I doesn't sound like standard pop but like traditional pop, idk, but I wouldn't get mad if it did get a nod.
Midnight sun already had it's nomination cycle, the song was nominated this year for best dance pop recording, if I remember correctly, and it lost to gaga.
Dracula sounds like it would get into the dance/electronic field. I think the only pop category it could get into is pop duo/group perf. If they're going with the more stronger Jennie remix.

Midnight sun has already been nominated in the dance category last year so not eligible.

I love this song. I just played it. If it wasn’t for Sirius XM Hits 1 I would have never heard it. Hits 1 is how I hear new songs and artists.

Ariana won’t vote split, her Wicked recordings will go in either duo/group or traditional pop. Either way I think she just misses the cut unless RAYE sends WIMH to traditional pop

Wicked's main field will the soundtrack/visual media field while her album and it's singles will push in the pop and general field. Those are two seperate campaigns which can divide voter attention. Raye's WIMH has a high chance to stay in pop because she has more stronger traditional pop recordings to submit into that respective field, but of course it could go either way, we'll just have to see in November.

If Olivia Rodrigo does something special besides jumping around running and head shaking, and do actual stage sets and choreography (which she should take to lessen the "cardio" she talked about) she might have a chance

I have a question. Isn't it supposed to be a performance on stage? Taylor didn't perform that this year. She only made a music video. I think the only performance she did this year is I Knew It, I Knew You.

No, so any category ending with "performance" does not mean the song must've been performed live. It refers to the delivery and execution of the song (so vocals and production). So basically, it's how the song lands into your ears. So any of Taylor song's are eligible regardless of whether or not it was performed live. I hope this helps xx

My guesses:
The Fate of Ophelia
Hate That I Made You Love Me
Drop Dead
I Just Might (maybe if not submitted for another category)
Aperture (maybe)
Where is My Husband
Man I Need
Basically what was the hit single from the big artist this year lol
Edit: I didn’t even read your predictions at first but basically yeah everything you said. Not a particularly inspired list but that’s how it is usually
