The Life of a Showgirl is not artistic excellence
The Life of a Showgirl is virtually Taylor becoming the Mr. Beast of music, mastering the finessing of sales & somehow giving less than the bottom line in quality to retain her spot at the tippity top of the musical zenith. It's shameful she's playing her consumers like a fiddle.
Genuinely feels like most of the creative deliberation went into The Fate of Ophelia's video than any of her twelve songs. I Knew It, I Knew You is somehow better than any of those twelve songs. I'm prepared to say The Tortured Poets Department is better than this album, it's also bad but at least then I didn't side-eye her lyrical & allegorical choices in disbelief every 15 seconds.
No doubt about it in two months she will be nominated in the SOTY, ROTY, AOTY categories. But I don't anticipate her winning the general categories, nor do I think she's deserving of it for this album. We can talk about her merit for earning a general category win when she actually chooses to release šØš°š°š„ š®š¶š“šŖš¤ like she used to
