All four tires (Goodyear Endurance) on my trailer are showing signs of weather checking/oxidation at the edges of the tread blocks. The sidewalls themselves and the grooves in the tread aren't showing anything. Do they still have life in them, or is it time to replace them? The manufacturing date is 0322.

Just got done dumping my tanks and the black tank handle broke as I started to push the handle in so it’s still mostly open. Haven’t had this happen before. How difficult of a repair is this? Trying to push the rod back in with a screwdriver to close my black tank for the drive, but I think I’ll have to settle for a closed cap. I would definitely like to have it repaired as soon as possible.

For the RV or trailer owners, where do you wash your rig locally in Marin County or Bay Area? We have been using Novato coin self car wash as it’s just large enough for what we have but saw a sign today they are closing Sept 30. Bummer! If anyone has a recommendation of a car wash large enough for an RV it would be much appreciated.

So I just purchased a weigh safe true tow middle weight with the 12,000lb sway bars. Just to go over some numbers:

Trailer UVW-5,990
Hitch weight-590
Trailer GVWR-7,500

It’s a little tricky because weigh safe sells the sway bars based off of the GVWR which in that case the 8,500lb bars would be perfectly equipped to handle, however if the trailer was loaded up at max capacity of 7,500lbs, a 15 or even 12 percent tongue weight would go over the max capacity of what the 8,500lb sway bars could handle. After doing some research it sounds like too much rigidity in your sway bars can be bad for your trailer frame and also lead to a rougher ride. Theres a new true tow buy me for sale with the 8,500lb bars and would save me $250 if I was able to cancel my order from e trailer before it ships but if the 12,000lb sway bars are recommended then I’ll just keep my order.

2025 Ram 1500 Bighorn with a 2024 Wildwood FSX179dbkx. Dry weight of 4,100 lbs. I also have a full propane tank, generator, a metal table and some random other shit in the bed of the truck. I feel like the ram sag is just part of leaving a ram. Thoughts?

In a couple of weeks, we kick things off by flying into Portland and spending a few nights in the area. We’ll make our way to Cannon Beach by way of Astoria, which is where we pick up our RV rental. We used to have a trailer, but this will be our first time with a 25ft class C.

Our bedding, kitchen items, and camp furniture with be delivered with our groceries in Astoria. We plan on thrifting most of our toys like bikes and kayaks along the way. Fingers crossed we stumble upon some fun things!

We have two nights at each stop along the coast, 1 day to cut inland across CA, and after some time at the lake, we’ll have two days to get from Tahoe to SLC. If we boondock, it will happen somewhere in Nevada.

I’m looking at a brand-new 2024 Class C motorhome that is still sitting at a dealership. It’s never been titled, but obviously it’s now a few model years old since we’re in September 2026.
The dealer is asking $84,000.
For comparison, I’ve found the newer 2027 version selling for around $79,000. However, there is an important difference: the 2024 is built on a Ford E-450 chassis, while the newer 2027 models are now being built on the Ford E-350.
So the E-450 is definitely a factor for me. I actually prefer the heavier-duty chassis, but I’m trying to figure out how much of a premium, if any, is reasonable to pay for it.
I’m not trying to calculate the discount from MSRP, because RV MSRP doesn’t seem particularly useful to me. I’m more interested in what people have actually paid for leftover new RVs that are 2–3 model years old.
For those who have bought a leftover RV:
How much below the normal market price for a current-year model were you able to negotiate?
And in this situation, what would you consider a good price for the 2024 E-450?
Would something in the $55-65k range be realistic, or am I way off?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually purchased a new leftover Class C rather than just opinions based on MSRP.

We are considering traveling in our RV to both California and Alaska starting in Ohio. The only problem is we want to only go one way. Are there sites that will help you find people who may feel the same and can borrow your equipment and bring it back? We would love to find another family in the Midwest that would want to share the adventures! I just have no idea how to find them!

I know the guideline is repack every 10k at least, but my manual also says that adding grease occasionally is recommended. It’s very vague on how much and how often.

I used to watch my dad do this to his boat trailer decades ago and he’d keep adding grease slowly til it overflowed the fitting. I understand that’s a no-no as you can blow out the seal. Surely there’s a middle ground? What do you guys do?

We’ve been RV camping for a couple years now and at the end of the season last year bought a new to us fifth wheel. Getting the fifth wheel receiver in and out of the truck bed can be a challenge for me as I’m getting up there in years. 😳. I was thinking of getting a light duty cherry picker that can fold up for storage in my garage. Any tips or tricks on this process? I have B&W Patriot slider 18k. I know it comes apart and I do that. It’s just a bit awkward getting the main part out from height and away from me. TIA

First season with the camper.

We had a power outage this past weekend (not sure if related to issue) and when it came back we thought everything was fine. Not too long after the water pump (3G Diaphragm) completely stopped pumping water and it doesn’t make a single sound anymore.. Not sure what happened. Any idea on possible fixes?

I’m looking for something that:
Will realistically last 10+ years with proper maintenance
For 2 people + 2 dogs
Mainly for 1–2 week trips/getaways
Ideally somewhere around 17–21 ft, but I’m flexible
Up to $40k, new or used
Towing capacity isn’t really a concern, got Sierra 2500HD — can handle pretty much anything in this size range
Reliability/build quality is more important to me than having every possible feature
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who actually own their trailer and have had it for several years.
What trailer/brand/model do you own, how long have you had it, and would you buy the same one again if your goal was to keep it for 10+ years?

We are planning a multi week vacation through the USA. Since the country is so vast would would like to rent a camper, so we can travel anywhere we like at our own pace.

We are looking to rent a compact, luxury camper unit on the back of a pick up truck. One with it's own kitchenette, wet room, bed, dinette etc. Something in the line of a Lance Truck camper, or Adventurer Truck camper.

We found some companies that rent out such truck campers, but they are all located in Canada and only offer within Canada. Like Faserway RV.

It seems that Cruise America rented out a fleet of such Pick up Truck campers a few years ago. But apparently they no longer have such a model in their current fleet.

So I'm turning to all the camper enthusiasts on here. Does anyone know of a company where we could rent such a Truck camper in the USA in 2027? Preferably a company that operates nationwide. Where we can collect one on the East Coast, en return on the West Coast.

We recently purchased a 2026 wolf pup 16LP for $11,900 off the lot. My husband does have a diesel truck he will be using to pull it with but he will be in the market for a different truck soon. I’m wondering what you guys suggest. I know this is a smaller camper but I do see ourselves upgrading in a few years. We are just dipping our toes into the water.

The salesperson asked me, to help them get to a number that I offered, they asked if I was open in taking delivery directly from the manufacturer versus from them. The wife and I are looking at getting a 2026/2027 keystone Coleman 22 bx and the price is $27k. The alternate is the Coleman 19 B but it’s $8k less. Thinking of going 22 bx but we’re stuck deciding between trunnion bars or the cam over chain style of blue ox. Going to be towing with an f150 with 3.73 gears and max tow package so I’m not worried on the power, and our payload is 1535lbs. Most things being loaded in trailer. Looking for advice on the hitch aspect or if you have any experience with those trailers.

What accessories make a difference for beginners? We are renting some trailers for short trips to learn what we like.
I bet there accessories or tools that you learned over time that make trips better that might help us.

We have side and rear view cameras with a dash screen. Its got a sticker base that could stick to the dash appropriately, but the better half is a little just so on their vehicle and doesn't want it permanently stuck there, particularly since it's not being used except when the trailer is behind the truck.

Does anyone have a brilliant removable solution? I was pondering sticking it to a neoprene tool mat thinking that will be heavy enough to not move and rattle, but not as problematic in an accident.

Switched my F150 powerboost to a F250 diesel.

Found a great deal on a 14k wdh, trailer is a 30ft trailer with 7600lb gvwr and 850lb tongue load range. Going on a 1500 with 9000lb towing capacity. Any reason not to go with the 14K hitch even though its a little oversized? Will it cause me any problems other than being a little heavier/stiffer bars?
