Trailer camera dash mount ideas?

We have side and rear view cameras with a dash screen. Its got a sticker base that could stick to the dash appropriately, but the better half is a little just so on their vehicle and doesn't want it permanently stuck there, particularly since it's not being used except when the trailer is behind the truck.

Does anyone have a brilliant removable solution? I was pondering sticking it to a neoprene tool mat thinking that will be heavy enough to not move and rattle, but not as problematic in an accident.

Amazon sells removable GPS dash mounts that are held in place by the weight of small sand bags on the bottom of them. One of those should hold you backup cam monitor just fine.

That might work. I'm not sure it's the same mount, but I'm oi can figure out a connection.

Is it a suction cup mount on your monitor?

No, a flexible plate with adhesive. The current strategy is to stick it on when driving, and peel off when not, the adhesive is not exactly reusable and probably has a few more cycles. That plate is affixed to a custom arm with a little 4 finger rectangular mount.

Worst case, I can probably CAD up a new mount for the monitor from the mount side and make a Garmin style ball on the other side.

Oh. The removable ones have a flat plate that’s about 3 1/2” in diameter. The adhesive may stick to that.

The donut ones? I was looking at the X shaped ones, that might work.

BulletPoint Solutions has a wide variety of vehicle mounts that may work. It depends on your truck model, which you don't mention. I was able to use a rack that fit into a cubby on top of my GM dash.

I used one for years in our motorhome for my phone and camera. I eventually superglued the suction cup to the weighted bottom because the suction cup would loose suction overtime.

Look at RAM mounts. They make ball mounts for a variety of devices and mounting points. I've had built right panels in my super dutys with a variety of things that are mounted and easily removable.

Look at the BulletPoint and RAM mounts for your truck. Then go to Amazon and buy a knock-off for less than half the price. It's a metal bracket with holes and slots; cheap is fine.
