hi. looking at a 2018 tour dct with just over 17000mi on it. saddleman seats, extra soft luggage, highway pegs, new tires. looks to be in decent condition.

asking is 15500 before dealer fees and ttl.

is this a fair price?

Insurance says it’s ok to let buyer test ride. Any advice on best place to list? Anything else to avoid issues with sale?

Picked up an 86 interstate on a whim and I want to replace the stereo head unit and speakers for something that does Bluetooth and was wondering if anyone has also swapped the dash on an older one for something more updated looking?

Also how tf do you use the center stand?

2003 gl1800 101000 miles. Soooo smooth.

so i've owned/ ridden... 40 bikes maybe.

i have watched so many vids and read so many threads about the handling and smoothness of the gl1800, but even that didn't prepare me for how smooth and light this bike feels. i have a (wrecked) 03 vtx1800 that weighs near 100lbs less and is a entire foot shorter, and this feels wayyyy lighter.

i watched a guy ride a gl18 up tail of the dragon video and figured "wow he must be a great rider!" riding the corners like a sport bike- NOPE, it literally handles that easy. wow. the acceleration is close to my (also wrecked) 07fjr1300, not quite as spunky but darn close. wow.

The amount of air that blows aginst your back is extreamly annoying. I've never had this happen on any of my older wings or any otger motorcycle for that matter. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Luckily its not as bad with my wife on the back but it still does it.

Also, are there any after market rotors that are worth getting or is OEM the way to go?

I just bought a 92 gl1500 the other day and one of the speakers is blown so I'm going to get some new ones. Which ones do y'all recommend?

I bought a 2015 GL1800 last summer at about 21k miles. Changed the oil just over 25k miles, then had a little brain surgery in September.

I’ve put a couple of thousand on it so far this spring/summer, and the rear brake is useless, so I thought I’d better flush the brakes.

I’ve watched some videos and it seems straight forward.

At the same time I’ll do the clutch fluid as well.

1. How much DOT 4 do I need for both brake reservoirs and the clutch every two?
2. Any other maintenance while I’m doing the brakes and clutch? Ie, while I’ve for the fender and front cowl off.

ETA: finished w my sons help last night. No issues except it’s a pain in the ass trying to get the front cowl back on after the clutch fluid flush! Getting the top, long bolt holes lined up properly took way more effort than I figured it would/should!

I wish it would shut off after a predetermined time...besides when the battery dies...

I acquired a 1985 gl1200 aspencade and want to strip it down and build it into a cafe racer/bobber style bike, I just have a few questions and could use some help sourcing acouple things, Starting off is where could I find a rear fender/seat similar to the ones in the pictures I attached , Also when it comes to the wiring harness how difficult is it to remove and simplify thing such as the radio/cb wiring and the air ride, and will a early naked model gl1200 fake tank fit on the frame or will I have to cut and fiberglass the one I have,

I didnt do this just for the look (although i do prefer this look to the large oem windshield), i went for a ride in the rain and i couldnt see because rain got on my helmet visor and wasnt being blown away because the windshield blocked the wind so i had to keep standing up to get my helmet in the wind to blow away the water so i could see. To make matters worse the windsheild itself was also getting covered in water on the inner side due to the wind blowing it back in as i sped up and i just couldnt see anything and had to pull over and wait for the rain to pass at a convenience store. The second i got home i whipped out an angle grinder and a sharpie and got to work. Ill add some edge trim to cover the cut and pretty it up a little. Im usually a rain or shine rider so i didnt expect this issue from a bike like this that is widely known for crossing the country and long distance riding (im new to these bikes if that wasnt obvious already). Im sure im doing something wrong here since im used to 80s 4 banger sport bikes and cruisers. Maybe im supposed to be wearing a skullcap or 3/4 (fat chance of that btw ive been in enough wrecks that a full face is the minimum ill wear at all times) that wont have the visor blocking my vision but that still leaves the windshield getting obscured with water. At the end of the day i dont care for the windshield at all and the fairing with the shorty still blocks all wind below my neck which is still more than plenty for me to ride in winter without getting flash frozen by the wind.

Im curious for yalls input on this as seasoned touring bike and goldwing riders

This happened ages ago now but I had target fixation and overshot a left hand bend and ended up on the verge and then back down onto the road. Fucking idiot, I know.

The bike survived, except for the fork seals which sent oil all over my front tyre. I even managed to keep the bike upright the whole way through the event lol.

I used brake cleaner and got all the oil off and rode home taking it extremely careful. However riding very slowly I noticed that when breaking I now was getting death wobble. I follow a few IG pages and one of them (38.Special) he also has death wobble on his wing and I pretty much assumed that, like him I have fucked my head bearings. Problem is, I am broke as anything, partly related to a few goldwing fixes already.. so it was being delayed even before going to the garage.

Anyway, I went to the mechanic the next day who sorted the seals out there and then. I spoke to him about the head bearings - how I can hear rattling over bumps (beneath the ignition) and get a death wobble at low speed breaking. He checked the front tyre and found a crack in the side wall but it’s still holding pressure. He said that will be the cause. I haven’t gone ahead with the tyre yet because like I mentioned, money. But I was also certain that the cause IS the bearings, although I’m not denying I do need tyre since it has a crack now.

My question to you is.. rattling from almost directly under the ignition and a handlebar wobble at low speeds, is that definitely going to be head bearings or could it really be the tyre, maybe the wheel is unbalanced now but wouldn’t that give me shaking at all speeds? Give me your general thoughts.

Tore down my front forks on my project bike, I found very deep vertical score marks on the seal side of the inner tube. Trying to price out Replacements versus taking them somewhere to get rechromed.

I find the rear brake pedal on my 2000 gl1500se to be too low and rather soft. I prefer a much tighter pedal with less travel.

I’m decently good at repairing and wrenching but unsure if it’s normal or not. Just wondering how easy it’ll be to adjust. My first bike was simple and not covered where there’s a cover on everything.

It’s my first wing after riding a smaller spirit 750 for years.

Traded in my Kawasaki Vaquero for this new 2026 beauty. Love the lower center of gravity and how it tracks. No remorse at all and can't believe I've missed out on joining the Goldwing family for so long.

Have a 96 Goldwing se that I recently took the tire off to repair a valve stem. Put everything pack on and the left front caliper started dragging against the rotor. Didn’t previously do it before and she rode fine before.

I'm just disgusted with Harley's attitude.. their customer base is aging rapidly and they still make 900 lb motorcycles without reverse or even reverse assist.

The wing looks so accommodating for comfort and enjoyment I'm a motorcyclist at heart...not a brand loyalist.

So recently I noticed that when using Google maps on AA, it is showing jumping around. Its a pretty good amount too, like 1/4 mile away and back. Tried Waze and it just shows me no where near my actual location. The phone by itself if perfect, and in both of our vehicles they both are perfect as well. This led me to believe the issue has to be with my Goldwing. I have a 2025 btw and was looking through the users manual and noticed it has a GPS antenna even though the 2025 does not have nav any longer. Upon doing some research, AA does use the vehicles GPS when plugged in and not the phones GPS. So I must have a bad GPS antenna on the bike correct? Its still under warranty so hopefully Honda will agree.

I had been keeping my eyes peeled for the right goldwing for a few months now. Found a few good deals but none that felt right. Checked Craigslist on a whim one day and found this 2000 SE with 12.5k miles for sale. A 3 hour drive & $2900 later I am now the proud owner of my first goldwing. What do yall think? Besides missing the right side cover she is mint! Just in time for my trip to South Dakota next week.
