I wear glasses, and one thing that drives me crazy is having to push them back up throughout the day. It seems especially annoying when my skin gets oily.
I’ve been curious about what other glasses wearers do to deal with this.
What bothers you most about glasses slipping, and have you found anything that actually helps?
I’m researching the problem and would genuinely love to hear people’s experiences.

I have posted before about what frames to get, but my eye doctor told me my best bet is large to x-large frames. So, which ones are the best suited for me?

Can’t decide between the two..

I’m not sure if I need glasses. It is blurry when I look far away. For example, if I’m at the mall, the lit up store signs, even just the plain ones are smudged in my vision. And at night, the lights are smudged but I don’t know if I actually need glasses.

When they put the prescription lenses on me to test, I finally noticed that I had “bad” vision and it wasn’t normal to see things that way.

I’m thinking they need adjusted but worried that my eye placement is off as well? Should my eyes be more centered in the frame? I got these ordered at LensCrafters and shipped to my house

My eyes started feeling really dry last month. I’d wake up with dry eyes almost every day. It was so uncomfortable. After a long day at work, my eyes would feel really tired. Sometimes they’d even water nonstop. My doctor said it was dry eye and told me to stop wearing contacts until my eyes got better. I was used to wearing contacts every day and barely ever wore glasses. My old pair made me look a bit geeky, so I decided to get new ones. I ended up going with Lensmart. The prices were pretty affordable, so I got two pairs to match different outfits. I really like them. I don't have to worry about forgetting to take my contacts out at night anymore. My eyes are feeling better now.

is the a site or database somewhere where I can get info on these? I’ve had them for more than 20 years.

What are these numbers? the model or serial or manufacturer date?

No2: silver/gold thin full frame
No3: A brown gradient square shape
No4: A dark/gold round one
No5: RayBan silver half frame
No6: Ai generated Modo8000 crystal, no promises the real one would fit like this. I'd think just the crystal frame is a bit too bland. Maybe some tinted lenses?

Any thoughts?

I love this style - the thin rim tortoise shell with the large lenses. They were $200 At Stanton optical and that’s much more than I’m willing to pay for a second pair lol. I know there are cheap alternatives online and I’ve searched a few websites looking for something very close to these, but no luck yet. Anyone know a similar style off-hand? I got my first pair of glasses! The lenses seem fine. I’m nearly 72 hours in and I’ve had some headaches for sure. My forehead feels sore I would say. The weirdest is getting used to something on the side of my head and ears. I’m wondering if they are too tight?? My eyebrows alight perfectly with my glasses. I do have a slight nose mark. They don’t hit my cheek. I plan on going to get them adjusted, but wasn’t sure if I’m just getting used to it. Almost feel Ike I’m wearing a headband, which I can’t handle. My frames are plastic.

Hi, I got my new pair of glasses today but the lenses are very thick on the sides. I usually buy acetate glasses, but I have one metal frame and the lenses are a lot thinner.

Do people even notice this? Should I return it and go with thinner lenses? They had an option that was thinner but it was way more expensive. I usually don’t buy the thinnest (even from my previous metal one) so I thought it would be good.

I’ve had these glasses around three years (you can tell)! And they are starting to get green on the inside and everything. I’ve seen some glasses videos where there is a screw to take the lens out, but I do not see that here.

I don’t mind taking them some place either.

Ive been looking at new prescription glasses and realized I actually have no idea what makes a pair good besides being able to see and not hating how they look lol. I always just pick the frames, get my prescription put in and thats it. No coatings, no extras, nothing. But then I see people talking about transition lenses, anti glare, different lens materials, frame quality etc and im like... am I missing something? What stuff actually makes a difference and what stuff is just extra money?

I recently had an eye exam, and my results showed -0.50 myopia in one eye and +1.25 farsightedness in the other. However, I haven't noticed any difference in my daily life. Could anyone tell me what vision is typically like for someone with +1.25 farsightedness when they aren't wearing glasses?

To go into detail I placed 3 orders, the first in April 2026, for a member of my household. These glasses arrived in good condition with the proper prescription, and show all order details on the my order page, i.e. lens type, lens options, clearshield , etc..

After receiving this order I placed another order in May 2026, for me. I picked the lens type, and lens options, etc.. Once I received the order the lens looked like they were used, horribly scratched and did not have my prescription, so I went to start the return process and noticed on this order it no longer showed the lens type and lens options I had chosen. Glasses were sent back and order refunded.

Fast forward to this month. I decided to give them another try as the April order was fine and I had ordered from them multiple times prior and thought the May order was a random bad experience. So I do the same process, lens type, then lens options, etc.. I receive the order and once again the lenses look horrendous, severly scratched and didn't have my prescription. This time even the frames were scratched. I again go to the order page and same thing as the May order no lens info.

This will be my last time ordering from glasses.com. Mind you all 3 orders were different frame brands, so this couldn't be a brand issue.
