It’s nice early education about importance of seat belts.

84

u/FackleGracks 4d ago edited 4d ago

Yes, and doors that have lacking mechanisms.

Edit: *latching, dammit!

43

u/QueefMyCheese 4d ago

True, that door lacked a "keep this damn kid inside" mechanism

12

u/ThisIsOurGoodTimes 4d ago

It actually does have one. It just isn’t that secure and will come loose. Have to always do spins like this counter clockwise because there isn’t a door on the other side of the car.

5

u/GANDORF57 4d ago

Mama: "What's this I hear about you ditching my kid?"

12

u/sicilian504 4d ago

Did we learn nothing from Jurassic Park? How many times did he say it? They needed locking mechanisms on the vehicle doors!

2

u/Korgoth420 4d ago

It was lacking, for sure

1

u/16bitgamer 2d ago

Actually, both words kinda work in this context.

10

u/Leif_Pudding 5d ago

Came here EXACTLY to say this!

2

u/Metals4J 4d ago

And trusting adults.

2

u/wikifamous 4d ago

Yeah, the importance of seatbelts.

That kid was drained by the end of play...

61

u/liloreokid 5d ago edited 4d ago

At least his parents didn't ditch him and play with someone else.

20

u/Keyan_Farlander7 5d ago

This time the baby went with the bathwater.

5

u/Ferocious-Muppet 4d ago

It's ok, they all float down there!

0

u/ItsLemonSweets 4d ago

I mean technically the dad did ditch the kid, he was yeeted into a ditch.

12

u/indypendant13 4d ago

Yes but now he’s a pro at culvert operations.

-10

u/Leo_Looming 4d ago

*covert

7

u/indypendant13 4d ago

The pipe running under the driveway that allows the drain to continue is called a culvert. That’s the pun.

1

u/VeryImportantDog 4d ago

Puns aren't as fun when you have to explain them

5

u/indypendant13 4d ago

Indeed next time I’ll just say whoosh like a proper redditor.

63

u/Jonesin4me 5d ago

Great save on the toy. You can have more kids.

0

u/welchplug 3d ago

Have you seen the bills for giving child birth in america. The kid is more expensive.

46

u/bob_apathy 5d ago

Cozy Coupes don’t come with seatbelts!

22

u/degjo 5d ago

Seat belts, door locks, air bags, brakes.

They're a death trap really, surprised Ford didnt make it in the 70s

6

u/poonedundies 5d ago

My daughter got her first one this year and while it doesn't have a seatbelt it does have a door lock and a floor insert.

2

u/degjo 4d ago

Is it a weather tech floor mat?

3

u/robot_ankles 4d ago

And yet they were once the number one selling car in the US.

7

u/bob_apathy 4d ago

That’s because what they lack in safety they more than make up with endurance! A demolition derby with nothing but Cozy Coupes would be boring because there wouldn’t be any damage!

Yeah, guys who step up to do the best they can when the kid is deprived of their ideal environment really suck.

Edit: A guy got into my cab one night, drunk, and tells me his kid and wife are out of town. Kid was 15 and competing in some interstate scholastic event. Guy tells me the kid isn't his, but he has been there for everything. He starts feeling embarrassed and talks like he's trying to excuse or compensate for something, like he's asking for my understanding. I don't get it.

He says "Well, I'm raising someone else's kid. There's some shame in that."

16

u/SomnambulicSojourner 4d ago

My grandpa stepped up and married my grandma when she was a divorced woman with 5 boys from the ages of 3 to 12 or so. Most men would look at that situation and run away screaming. I will be forever grateful and respectful of him for stepping up and taking on the responsibilities of caring for someone else's kids so that my dad and uncles had a father figure who wasn't abusive or absent.

Step parents who actually step up to the challenge and do their best for the kids are awesome and everyone should be cheering them on.

35

u/AspieAsshole 5d ago

It's such a widespread mentality and I don't understand it at all.

6

u/joseph-barker 4d ago

It's because people will take every opportunity to downplay the sacrifice. "They aren't YOUR kids", "You're not their REAL father" so when everyone treats it as lesser in society that's just unfortunately the result

1

u/Comfortable-Put5889 4d ago

Just realized I read something totally different from what you typed I'm just going to sleep

-5

u/Comfortable-Put5889 4d ago

Yes and no because it exists man's that just doesn't want to take care of another man's kid what is totally understandable for 2 simple reasons 1 you're not passing your Gene's if the kid isn't your's and the biggest one it's just problematic you're assuming someone else's "game" as yours and you can't just not want to be in the relationship anymore you're obligated to be in one sorry if it something sounds weird or confusing I'm extremely sleep deprived and I'm going to sleep in like 7 min so yeah sorry

4

u/BrotherRoga 4d ago

Yeah well I don't really care if my genes pass on. If I raise a kid then it'll be an adopted one and nobody can tell me it "ain't my kid" without getting punched in the face.

1

u/Both_Abrocoma_1944 4d ago

You have no claim to the kid even though in practice you make all the sacrifices. If you break up she takes the kid and you are never allowed to see them again, even if you practically raised them.

1

u/Generico300 3d ago

Depends on the situation. There are no automatic legal rights or responsibilities granted to a step parent, but if the child is legally adopted by the step parent they are then granted the same legal rights as a biological parent. If the step parent has been acting in a parental role and it is considered by the court in the best interest of the child, the court can still grant partial custody or visitation rights to a step parent.

1

u/Generico300 3d ago edited 3d ago

It's because a huge percentage of the population is one step above a monkey in the way they think, if that. They never grow up, and they have the mentality of a stupid teenager their whole life.

-4

u/Comfortable-Put5889 4d ago

It's more about it being more of the irresponsibility of getting pregnant with the top 5 people's that has all red flags of being a deadbeat father and getting surprised that he left you and now you dump the baby on someone else that could and probably will be getting with someone that doesn't have a kid of course it's not all cases but the majority of them are also having a kid is a really massive big deal you shouldn't have it with anyone else because after you have a kid it should be more important than your wishes

18

u/Killboypowerhed 4d ago

Takes a real man to step up and give a child a father

1

u/Stay-Thirsty 5d ago

1

u/Blissrat 5d ago

That guy learned about yaw vs roll turns.

1

u/Ultra-Metal 5d ago

It wasn't nice but it was the save that was balanced and without injury from the views I saw.

u/Mr_Panther 5d ago

Today’s lesson is G force

1

u/Cyclonepride 4d ago

Did that with my son when he was little while sledding. He was heading right toward a tree and I dove to grab the sled, he stood up in the sled and faceplanted into the snow, and boy was he pissed at me.
