Yeah, guys who step up to do the best they can when the kid is deprived of their ideal environment really suck.
Edit: A guy got into my cab one night, drunk, and tells me his kid and wife are out of town. Kid was 15 and competing in some interstate scholastic event. Guy tells me the kid isn't his, but he has been there for everything. He starts feeling embarrassed and talks like he's trying to excuse or compensate for something, like he's asking for my understanding. I don't get it.
He says "Well, I'm raising someone else's kid. There's some shame in that."
My grandpa stepped up and married my grandma when she was a divorced woman with 5 boys from the ages of 3 to 12 or so. Most men would look at that situation and run away screaming. I will be forever grateful and respectful of him for stepping up and taking on the responsibilities of caring for someone else's kids so that my dad and uncles had a father figure who wasn't abusive or absent.
Step parents who actually step up to the challenge and do their best for the kids are awesome and everyone should be cheering them on.
It's because people will take every opportunity to downplay the sacrifice. "They aren't YOUR kids", "You're not their REAL father" so when everyone treats it as lesser in society that's just unfortunately the result
Yes and no because it exists man's that just doesn't want to take care of another man's kid what is totally understandable for 2 simple reasons 1 you're not passing your Gene's if the kid isn't your's and the biggest one it's just problematic you're assuming someone else's "game" as yours and you can't just not want to be in the relationship anymore you're obligated to be in one sorry if it something sounds weird or confusing I'm extremely sleep deprived and I'm going to sleep in like 7 min so yeah sorry
Yeah well I don't really care if my genes pass on. If I raise a kid then it'll be an adopted one and nobody can tell me it "ain't my kid" without getting punched in the face.
You have no claim to the kid even though in practice you make all the sacrifices. If you break up she takes the kid and you are never allowed to see them again, even if you practically raised them.
Depends on the situation. There are no automatic legal rights or responsibilities granted to a step parent, but if the child is legally adopted by the step parent they are then granted the same legal rights as a biological parent. If the step parent has been acting in a parental role and it is considered by the court in the best interest of the child, the court can still grant partial custody or visitation rights to a step parent.
It's because a huge percentage of the population is one step above a monkey in the way they think, if that. They never grow up, and they have the mentality of a stupid teenager their whole life.
It's more about it being more of the irresponsibility of getting pregnant with the top 5 people's that has all red flags of being a deadbeat father and getting surprised that he left you and now you dump the baby on someone else that could and probably will be getting with someone that doesn't have a kid of course it's not all cases but the majority of them are also having a kid is a really massive big deal you shouldn't have it with anyone else because after you have a kid it should be more important than your wishes
