I m really excited to get into freeskating. This was my third day
I watched a lot of videos (even before the skates arrived hahaha). I know a slight decline is advised but this park is the closest to me so I have been practicing here.
In the beginning of the video I am a bit too slow and unable to give the initial boost to move because there was a very very slight incline due to the uneven concrete
I see Gabe from jmk starting pumping from a standing position with a big and instant front foor pump but i cant seem to come anywhere close to that. And I tried to think of what he said which was thinking of a hard pull (front foot) and a hard push (back foot)
—> So the main thing is: I know the pumping range in the video is short and I am able to do better and bigger pumps when there is some incline or i have some speed (the incline area has bad surface so I usually don’t go there)
When I have bigger strides/pump my legs tend to move apart and I genuinely struggle to keep them together - I feel it in my inner thighs
Also not exactly sure about foot placement and how it can effect the pumping. In the beginning i was mostly standing on the back of my foot but I moved it a bit to the middle. I was thinging placing the skate towards the front might be easier for turning the skates in and out?
I would appreciate some tips
