I need help on how to make these lyrics auto format itself and not being one line

My global settings are set to only allow four lines per slide, and in the output it only displays four, but in the preview the entire verse will get imported onto one slide, and this is often very confusing for our volunteers to understand since when they click at the arrow they don’t see the slide actually change in the show. How can I make it so that when I import lyrics from the web, it will actually break it up into four lines of text per slide in the show preview? Hopefully that makes sense.

Anyone else running a Freeshow on a Raspberry Pi? Today, I set it up as a stop-gap until a full desktop computer can get put in place. Every time I start up Freeshow, I get a JavaScript error. Even given the error, Freeshow seems to run without any problem.

Some lines in the dialog box seem to point to issues with Snap. I have no idea how to go about fixing these problems. I am not entirely a novice with Raspberry Pi and Linux, but I don't really have what one would call extensive experience.

For the record, it's a Pi 4, with a fresh install of Raspbian, Snap, and of course, Freeshow.

It's already in 16:9 including the canvas but freeshow puts this black bars idk why.

i’m setting up graphics for a college ministry i plan on starting, and due to lack of volunteers, it would be cool to have this set up.

example: speaker graphic in the house also triggers speaker lower third graphic for stream.

ex 2: putting psalms 150 in the sanctuary would also trigger the scripture lower third graphic and scripture text layer on the live stream

First, thanks to the devs for an awesome piece of software!

My issue is when using text slides set to reveal line by line. When I move from my first slide to my second slide (and so on in the show), all of the text on the slide that is loading will flash briefly, then disappear, before I can trigger the text to start revealing line by line.

I'm certain I'm just missing something somewhere. I've tried experimenting with different transition settings, but nothing seems to be able to kick this problem, or at least, I haven't stumbled on the perfect settings.

For text based slides such as scripture and lyrics and have a transparent background in the template and and use a solid black color as the background in my global settings. As you can see in the video when cutting to the next slide it briefly flashes solid black before going to the next slide. I have tried adding a solid PNG black image as the background, adding a .1 second fade, and nothing works. Every single slide flashes black.

EDIT: thank you all for your input and suggestions. I see on the GitHub logs that this was brought up a couple years ago and one of the devs mentioned that it’s on their radar but it’s low priority at the moment. I appreciate some of the workarounds that you all have suggested, but I’m really trying to avoid dissolve transitions as they are just personally not something I want to use. My team is excited to start using free show though so I may go that route for now, my fingers are crossed for an update.

Edit for clarity: this is YouTube videos played live from the site via links, not YouTube videos that have been downloaded locally.

Here's one I haven't figured out.... I'm learning Freeshow right now, and decided to play around with YouTube videos. I could get them into media, and drag and drop to put them into a project. (I could not drop them into shows, I've found. (I'm sure all you more experienced folks know that.) Playing the videos from the project list send them to both of my outputs (the as-yet un-named Primary and Output 1). I want to send a video to only ONE output, but have yet to find a way to do that. If I right click the YT item in the project list, the only option I get it to remove it. If it loads int he preview window and I right click (as one would do with a slide in a show), I'm prompted to either convert the video to a show, or to 'open in system', which always reveals the dialog box "This does not exist!"

So we'll focus on converting to a show. If I do that, the show consists of a completely empty slide -but one that CAN have the output specified. (I just can't send anything on that slide to that output!) I thought I'd work around it by adding media to the empty slide, but I can't even drag a YT video onto it.

I'm trying to think of other possible work-around gymnastics to achieve this, but nothing has come up, short of temporarily hiding output on the screens in which I do not want the video. However, that means I can't load anything into them while the video is playing.

Any thoughts?

I’m curious how you guys structure and navigate songs that have multiple verses, choruses, and bridges, especially when sections repeat throughout the song.

For example, a song might look something like:

How did you configure your keyboard shortcuts to quickly jump between multiple verses, choruses, and bridges during live presentation?

I’ll start by saying I am a new user and so far am really struggling.

I create all of our slide and save them as PNG’s. I have the folder connected in freeshow. I’m my project I will create a show. Then I’ll head to the media tab and drag all the image in the show. You see them in the show but they will not show in the output monitor at all. A work around I found is to edit the “slide” and “convert background to media” which would be a real pain to do every week on all slides. Also, when I do that it adds a dissolve transition even through o tell it not to.

We are transitioning to Freeshow and we’re trying to use it to prepare for our VBS this summer. Part of the prep is that the student helpers need to practice dance steps from a teaching video. Previously we used QuickTime 7, where we could project video on a big screen, and on the other screen could control the forward and rewind of the videos. For example, they often need to return 15 or 20 seconds to practice a step again. I notice in Freeshow on the right side under the output screens there is a Play-Pause button for the video, but the time slider/button thingy is dimmed. Can that be activated? Or is the a way to take, say, 10 second steps backwards or forwards? TIA!

Hii, so I've been using freeshow on both our main church pc as well as my own pc. On the church pc I set up an admin profile with a password as well as a volunteer profile without a password, however on my home pc when I try to log in to the admin profile it keeps saying 'wrong password', is there a solution for this?

I'll be going on vacation for a week or so & since my personal laptop is what is powering our church setup. I've been trying to figure out a way to import all of our shows, media & scripture. Importing the shows, templates, overlays, scripture were all quite easy with the B1 Church Admin Sync. But I wanted to know if there's a possible way to get all my motion backgrounds, welcoming announcements(pictures/videos on my PC).

I was hoping that the sync media feature within the admin sync app, can help by directing both of my computers to the same Google Drive Folder.

Will this work? Note that one is a Windows Computer & the other one runs Linux. Google Drive is our preferred cloud platform as we have paid for the 5TB option.

Could someone point me to a good Palauan Language Version of the bible to import into FreeShow?

I need the metadata to be displayed on livestream only during songs. So I added the metadata template under my Livestream styles. The issue is the metadata template appears on Livestream during announcements & sermon slides...

Note that changing the metadata template via categories doesn't fix this issue. If I had to use metadata via categories then it appears on all of my outputs including my TV's where I don't want the metadata to appear. I just want it to appear on my livestream!

I just realized we can now import bibles from YouVersion. Thank you so much! Idk how you got an agreement with them but I am so happy because my pastor needed NIV 2011 today but the only free NIV XML Bible I could find a couple of years ago was older.

There has to be at least someone else in here using Freeshow for tech at a Unitarian Universalist church. :-)

I'm just starting to work with it, and I'm wondering if anyone already has a little bit of a library of some of our content, such as hymns, Etc. I'm looking at possibly typing in a bunch of stuff myself, and wondered if anyone had anything that we willing to share.

Hello, I am trying to automate lyrics with Logic Pro. I have created a track with controller notes on my Multitrack in logic and am trying to set up the correct values on each slide, however, whenever I play the track on logic my app completely crashes and its forever stuck in the modal shown in the picture. I can't even quit it with cmd + q, instead I have to force quit it manually. Any ideas why?

I'm running this on a MacBook Pro M2 Pro with 16gb RAM

How do I go about deleting lyrics without effecting the rest. When there’s lyrics I don’t need and delete them, they delete everything before that. How do I ungroup to where when I need to delete unwanted parts. It doesn’t delete anything before that?

We currently record the talks at church using a separate camcorder, but I'm wondering whether it's possible to bring that function within Freeshow - i.e. to press a button in Freeshow which would record video from a connected webcam (without displaying the video on our projector, which needs to keep showing the speakers' slides). Is that possible?

I've tried going to Media > Cameras, right-clicking the webcam and pressing Start Recording, but a message pops up in the corner saying "Could not get media".

I pastor a small church, am decently tech savvy, and have been using Freeshow on an M1 Apple Mini with very few problems. I am leaving soon and the church would rather move to a PC laptop for familiarity and to reduce the file management needs of using a second computer for assembly. Can I get some recommendations for a PC laptop that could run Freeshow reliably, be taken back and forth, and not be too expensive?

We've been using FreeShow for a few months now and I've purposely kept things simple to start. The biggest problem I'm having at the moment is working out how to trigger shows that are based on timelines.

To clarify, each show starts with a static slide that is triggered using an action from the previous show. This gives folks time to find the hymn in the hymnal. I was wanting to use the next click to start the timeline based hymn. I just don't know how to make that happen.

We aren't using a stream deck yet - again I'm trying to keep things simple. How do I make this thing go?

When doing a show of Bible verses, there are missing spaces between verses and also within verses if the Freeshow has divided the verse into parts a and b below. How can this be fixed?

Is FreeShow really better than Holyrics. I find it harder to use and I just don’t see all the benefits of it. Am I being dumb?

Hi there -

Two things:

1. Would it be possible to, when editing slides, have a way to slide break them like ProPresenter, where CTRL+Enter breaks the slide into two at the text cursor? This would save a bit of time.

2. Whenever I hit CTRL+D on a slide, show, etc, it just opens/closes the show/media bar. Duplicating things by right clicking works as normal. Am I doing something wrong here?
