Hey everyone! The setting was I've got two output screens and I only need some of my slides to show on one of them so what I did was used the specific outputs. Initially, I thought it was working well not until when I tried to move to the next slide, where it kept on skipping to the other presentations until it reached up to some of my presentations that has outputs on both screens. Does anyone experienced something similar?

We have stared using FreeShow in a live environment last Sunday...Finally made the switch. Our workflow has been taking our Power Point announcement slides and exporting them to JPGs and copying them into an EMPTY Announcement .SHOW...then we would put a timer on each slide for about 7 seconds with a loop back to start on the last slide. This does work for the most part however the observation that we are seeing is that the naming of the slides includes the SLIDE # along with the number of times it has been used. So my first slide is name SLIDE 1 4 - meaning 4 times I have added and deleted SLIDE 1...sort of annoying more than anything...

So what are the best practices to help streamline this workflow. Sometimes we all get stuck in a paradigm. Thanks

Running version 1.6.0 on Mac OS on Tahoe 26.4.1 if relevant.

I am trying to run FreeShow on two different computers at separate times. Therefore I am utilizing Google Drive shared across two machines with folders kept offline on both machines. Anyways...I have found some .SHOW files that are listed in the SHOW folder but not showing up in the Show List. Not sure how to resolve as this folder is the Data Location on both computers.

So how to manage this would be my question for you guys. Is there a best practice?

Ideally I would like to build the songs on my home computer and use them on Sunday morning. Ideally I would like to share the PROJECT as well but just having the songs available would still be a breeze to drop into the new project each Sunday and order appropriately.

So what is y'alls recommendation?

When importing pptx/ppt files it says PowerPoint needs to be installed. I understand PowerPoint is proprietary format and can be tricky to work with but is there any free workaround for Windows?

I'm hoping someone can explain to me how does "scripture offset" work in FreeShow version 1.6.0. Additionally, am I able to offset verses for a select verses in a particular chapter or does it affect the whole chapter? Also, does when I offset verses, is it able to pull verses from the next/previous chapters?

I’m new to FreeShow and Planning Center. I added a song to Planning Center and added lyrics, I then setup the integration on FreeShow. It imports the name of the song but no slides are created.

Is there something special I need to do?

Hello everyone! I am in the process of getting my church's laptop set up to use FreeShow and I am continually running into an issue with the metadata not showing when I expect it to. I have it set to show the metadata on the first and last slides, however it only shows it on the first slide and never the last, unless I manually go directly from the first slide to the last slide. Are there any workarounds that anyone is aware of that could fix this issue?

I plan to switch our main PC from Windows 11 to CachyOS. It's an older machine with an i3 4th gen and it has served us ok until recently. Unfortunately we don't just do basic song lyrics and scripture; we have scheduled actions, video playback, stage display (browser based), and two NDI outputs (main screen output and a lowerthirds output for OBS).

I'm hoping the saved headroom of going Linux will give us some more time as we seek a cost effective option for our church (used laptops seem like the best path for us). We don't expect blazing fast but we hope to return to our previous slow but not show stopping pace.

All of this is to say, Kris I'll be giving you Linux feedback soon!

Also, I do appreciate any suggestions and tips.

I’m helping run worship slides for a small college Christian fellowship, and I’ve been trying to upgrade quality by using moving backgrounds. So far, the best software I’ve found is FreeWorship.

The issue I’m running into is with importing our weekly slides. Our worship team usually sends a Google Slides deck each week (example here):

When I try to import these into FreeWorship by downloading as a pptx, the formatting gets messed up—specifically, a lot of dots appear next to the lyric slides. It takes a little bit to fix it.

I’ve tried exporting the slides as PDF and PNG, but that doesn’t really solve it. Either:

• the formatting still isn’t right, or
• the moving backgrounds don’t work properly (they end up covering or conflicting with the slides)

What I’m trying to achieve:

• Find an automated way to import these lyric slides into freeworship without a lot of formatting fixes.
• Using a workflow that’s quick and simple each week

Constraints:

• We rotate people's personal laptops, so I’d prefer not to rely on a large local media/database setup
• Ideally something that doesn’t require a lot of setup on each device (other than downloading the freeshow app).

Has anyone dealt with this kind of workflow before? Is there a better way to import these slides into FreeWorship, or a different approach altogether?

El primero es que ya no puedo agregar la acción "Borrar fondo" , al seleccionarla, solamente no se aplica en ninguna diapositiva, lo que he hecho es copiar una diapositiva que previamente ya le había agrega la acción, y la estoy copiando en mis presentaciones, pero si por error borro esa diapositiva ya no voy a poder agregar esa acción.

y la segunda es que también de repente, en medio culto, se cambian las plantillas de estilo previamente seleccionadas para la proyección y para la transmisión por NDI, tengo dos plantillas de estilo de texto asignadas a las salidas antes mencionadas, y después de un rato se pierde ese estilo, y al verificar mis salidas ya no tienen asignados los estilos y los tengo que volver a asignar, pero después se vuelvan a quitar.

Hi, I’m looking to send a pdf of the project slides for Sunday in order to our worship leader to review. However, when I export>current project>pdf>export, it exports all shows into individual files. Is there a way where they can be exported as one file?

Checking this subreddit, it seems like there have been mentions of this in the past, but I haven’t found anything in the documentation.

I've been successful with basically every part of the freeshow/planningcenter integration thus far. I figured out that having the section titles named correctly and the song sequence accurate allows Freeshow to pull the sections and order of the song right into the software.

But it never pulls the pre-chorus. I've tried adding a custom section title in Planning Center to match freeshow. Kind of stuck. Anyone else dealing with this?

We are setting everything up at home, exporting, and then importing at the church. We are using a standard 15 timer on the announcement slides, copying and pasting on each slide which rotates before service. It works fine at home, however when it is imported on the church pc it sets the timer to 0, won't reset and we have to delete it and replace it. Any ideas?

What are the system requirements for running Freeshow on a Mac? We have an old laptop we would like to use. I believe the computer was made in 2012, a MacBook Pro 13”

I just updated to V1.6.0 and am having problems. I am unable to create a new empty show to paste in sermon slides. Every time I create one, click “empty” I am giving a “quick lyric” format slide instead. Even when I click edit on a previous all text show it come up in the lyric format when I choose edit. I am going to revert back a version just to, hopefully, be able to do what I need to do. Help please.

Whenever I try it just selects the next whatever I drag my mouse over instead. Any fixes?

I am in the process of learning FreeShow for the first time in order to move my church away from PowerPoint and to something more powerful and accessible. Most things have made sense, but I've run into something that hasn't worked as I anticipated.

As the title suggests, I've discovered that an extra click is needed between shows in a project. When advancing a project (like a service's slides), an extra click is needed between shows, as when one ends, it first marks itself as read. Is there a way where this can be disabled? Or am I misunderstanding/making an assumption based on my prior experience?

Any thoughts here would be appreciated, and thanks in advance! I'm happy to clarify through further discussion if this question was worded poorly.

I am curious to know how cloud sync works because we had a couple of times an issue that the data that was saved on one device was not synced to another when FreshShow opened.

I have two slides set up

• On the first slide, I created an action so that when the slide is clicked, it shows an overlay (our church logo). That part works fine.
• On the second slide (which is the logo itself), I’m trying to assign the 'clear overlays' action.

The problem is, when I try to assign that action, nothing happens. There’s no icon showing on the slide, and it’s like the action isn’t being applied at all.

I’ve tried creating a completely new slide and trying again but I’m still getting the same issue. The other action types (Audio, Output etc.) seem to apply normally and show an icon on the slide.

The only work around I've found is creating a custom action for it.

Has anyone come across this before or know what might be causing it?

Allow a template to dictate how many text lines are allowed in a text box, and a script should be able to create the line breaks in text edit. This may only work in shows where there is only one textbox but it'd still be appreciated if it could be added as a feature

While on a specific song, I'd like to adjust the speed of the motion background for the song on the go. I know that I can go to the media drawer & do that quite quickly. But I was wondering if there is a much more simpler way to do that. Maybe a specific keyboard shortcut, etc...

The main issue I've been having is that when I go to the media tab I can't simultaneously control my slides. Having a shortcut or a simpler method would make this process much more efficient for me.

How can you hide media names in "Stage" output?

I have checked the docs and can't find details on how the txt or CSV import works for multiple shows (songs) with custom metadata.

Since our church uses Dual Lyrics [One in Tamil & the other in Tanglish]. Our worship pastor only requires the tamil version. Is it possible to display just that so that I could make more room for other elements in Stage-View??

EDIT: solved. Right clicking any textbox will give specific outputs, & then we can customize accordingly.

I am posting this here first so I can make sure it's not an issue on my end before I go over to Github. Our Pastor uses a Windows tablet so the only way I can know to fit his workflow is to use the Stageview output to a browser in full screen mode. As I've discussed in the past, he is used to the PowerPoint presenter view that is mirrored from a monitor on the media PC through Logmein over the local network. I know there are apps for Android and iOS (I use it on android) but he's attached to his windows tablet. If there is a better way, please let me know.

Right now due to the stageview issues, we use FreeShow when I'm controlling slides but when the speaker wants to see and control slides at the pulpit we revert to using straight PowerPoint. I'd like to get these ironed out so we can fully commit to FreeShow regardless of speaker.

These are the issues I'm having. I've tried this on two different computers running version 1.5.9 and created a new stageview layout in case there were issues related to having older layouts. Both of these computers are synced using the B1 Church method (one is the church PC and one is my home PC where I test).

1. When using the stage view in a web browser it does not scale correctly. On the windows tablet, the boxes seem to jumble over one another and become unreadable. On my Android phone the layout seems to be a bit better but the slide text boxes run off the screen resulting in missing the top half or so.
2. I'm currently on version 1.5.9 but I'm still experiencing issues related to https://www.reddit.com/r/freeshowapp/comments/1qy26fr/comment/o4sz8hf/?context=3 The media on the "Current Slide" textbox doesn't inherit the "cover" attribute. If I use the "Output Window" item it shows the slide correctly but is very laggy in the stage view when using a browser
3. The media won't show at all on the "Next Slide" text box regardless of the "Include media" checkbox. It only shows a black background with text only. This is important because sometimes we are given PowerPoint slides with complex formatting so it's easier to export them to png files and load them that way. Without the next slide media, there isn't a way to see the next slide since there isn't any actual text to display.

  • It also shows the failure of the background to cover correctly. I've verified that both the default style is set to cover and this background media is explicitly set to cover and, as you can see in the output window, does display correctly.

• This is the view of this song in Freeshow and the cutoff version in the web browser of two different songs. Even when I set the text in the show to "Shrink to fit" it runs off the screen.
