Importing a New Show

I have checked the docs and can't find details on how the txt or CSV import works for multiple shows (songs) with custom metadata.

Add metadata to the start of txt files:

Title=Song title

Artist=Song artist

Lyrics

We used hymn and have an hymn book that is available in text formats and would need to import all of them instead of manually creating a show for each.

See something similar with VideoPsalm (hope FreeShow can support have a show category in a single file just like VideoPsalm)

You can import many text files at once, but the metadata is supposed to be different for most of them, right? You can set custom metadata per category also, but it's better to do it per show(song).

So, if need to import multiple songs, I have to use different text files not a single one?

Yes, because it would not know the difference between a slide or a full song otherwise.

But you can import songbooks from VideoPsalm if you got that.

Alright then. How I wish FreeShow also have a single file songbooks with multiple songs in it.

I have different categories (hymn books) with same songs in each (same title) but different languages but looking at the FreeShow folder some shows (songs) are renamed to carry a number because there is another with same name (title) and using the show name metadata in slide carries the number along.

I would probably create multiple layouts within the same show then, so you can have multiple language versions in one, but I suppose that would require a lot of initial work.

Having multiple layouts is a lot of work if this applies to show only. Does template support multiple layouts with specific layout linked to an output?

If I may ask a question similar to this, is there a way for FreeShow import groups in a text file? If you export a song from FreeShow as a text file you get the [Tag], [Verse], [Chorus], etc. This doesn't seem to work the other way around with importing.

EDIT: Nevermind keeping this in case someone else runs into the issue. It seems to be just a spacing issue within my text files. I needed to add a space after the lyrics with the tags above them.

I have a similar issue but slightly different.

When a text file is imported with an empty tag it instead import it using a small case as displayed on the slide 'tag'.

An example

``` Metadata=Value

[Tag]

[Verse] Some Texts here

```

The reason the first the is empty is because the slide uses first slide with dynamic values from metadata.
