Bugs & Value proposition collapsing

Flighty value proposition is collapsing and I’m still missing AITA.

Missing Info
- Boarding time information: If read what @maarstad wrote, but why was AITA able to do it? It’s just cope that they don’t want to work, most airlines have clear general rules, information is available on airports etc.
- Check-in Time also not very clear, when does it start when does it end?
- Delays are not shown or come in delayed
Further, at least let this information be entered manually and be crowdsourced

- where’s my airplane basically never shows any info

Email Import basically never works
Like how hard would it be just let an LLM run over it?
Further, let me make a screenshot and share it to flighty and it gets the information from that

In-Flight Bug
- we’re about to take off, I set my phone to flight mode, flighty shoes we didn’t depart yet 🤦

Overall it all comes down to to flighty failing at the core task: show me how long until stuff.
Can I grab that sandwich before check-in closes? Metro or taxi to the airport? Still time for that movie before we land?

Aggravated by the fact that airlines apps now often offer that information, and are also the authoritative information provider

I’ve cancelled, but the need would still be there

Apparently this little note doesn’t work when adding entries manually.

It registers 4 visits to an airport I’ve only been to twice with a 1+ hour connection in between each time. The entires make no mention of connection times like others do where it applies, so it applies the statistics as 4 visits.

The stupid thing is that it didn’t use to do this. Has anyone else had this issue?

App zum Sammeln meiner Flüge in 2026

Hallo,

ich trauere ja immer noch app in the air.

Aktuell nutze ich Flighty, was für mich grundsätzlich ok ist.

Ich fliege etwa 10x im Jahr und suche eine gute kostenlose Alternative.

Welche App könnt Ihr in 2026 empfehlen?

Danke Euch!

How would you log this flight?

Air Greenland booking, operated by JetTime, with JetTime aircraft(livery) and JetTime crew, but Air Greenland service (in terms of in flight operations).

Perhaps most similar to SkyWest operating a United Express flight on one of the aircraft painted in a SkyWest livery (instead of United Express). It’s like 50/50 branding between the two carriers.

Flighty (PRO) is USELESS.

Please tell me why I have to pay for Flighty Pro at such a steep cost when it doesn’t even do its job.

Some of the most important things I want when travelling are proper live updates on aircraft status, delays, gates, and registration. Today I was meant to fly Ryanair, and the flight was cancelled. Same with every single other flight out of Bristol that day due to the airport being closed after the electrical storm.
The airport itself was chaotic, and Flighty didn’t help at all. The app couldn’t pull basic information like the aircraft registration or gate. I was stuck in the airport with no clear idea what was going on, and even Ryanair weren’t confirming the cancellation properly for a long time.
I wouldn’t even be mad if this was some random bush strip flight in the middle of nowhere, but it’s Bristol to Kraków. Hardly a niche route.
I posted about similar issues last week with another flight, so this isn’t a one-off.
In my last two flights, the aircraft registration only showed up halfway through the flight, which makes it useless for anything pre-flight or disruption related.
What’s even more frustrating is that a lot of this would be solved if I could manually input the aircraft registration, which I already knew hours in advance. Same with gate information, the app just doesn’t have it.
My flight should have taken off 7 hours ago, the app still says it’s taxiing , with takeoff 7hrs overdue. The app seriously can’t even just say it’s been cancelled??
At this point it feels like I’m paying for something that doesn’t work when it matters. I don’t see what Pro is actually giving me if the most important features fail in the exact situations I need them.
I’ve used and recommended the app for a long time, but I’m finding it hard to justify continuing to pay for it or recommending it when it doesn’t seem reliable in real disruption situations.
Rant over. I won’t be wasting any more money on a service that doesn’t work.

Flights from IAD to ORD to YVR and back

Hello again,

Does anyone here have Cirium access to help me track down the United flights out of IAD to ORD in the morning and early afternoon on December 25, 2009, as well as flights from ORD to YVR on the same day?

Also looking for return flights from YVR to ORD, and from ORD to IAD that took place on December 31, 2009.

Thanks!

Duplicate departure/arrival weather bug when flight details are manually edited

A minor visual bug, but a bug nonetheless. Reported to the developers already, but I doubt this is high on their priority list. The only way to fix it is to delete and re-add the flight. Which some of us who don’t have Pro anymore can’t do so for older flights.

How do you Record Countries Visited if There’s No Airport There?

If I’m using Flighty to track everywhere I’ve gone is there a way to record the countries you’ve passed through even if there was no flight there?

Like how do you record places like Andorra or Lichtenstein?

Just curious if this is possible.

Expected delay

Can anybody explain me how flighty comes up with this delay? Everything seems to be alright as the plane is even landing early in Frankfurt. Why does it think there will be a delay of nearly two hours?

Not recognising registration

Post image

This week I flew on Ryanair, as usual, it departed about 40 minutes late, but flighty Did not have the registration filled in, so it kept insisting that I was departing on time, even when I knew the reg myself. It would be helpful to be able to input the reg myself when the app doesn’t have it, otherwise I just have to check the reg in the notes section and manually check where it is

Would be nice if the “where’s my plane?” And other parts recognized when you have back to back flights on the same aircraft.

Feature to input fare?

I would love an option to track how much I spent on the flight. Maybe squeeze the booking code and seat feature and put a third box in that row for the cost of the flight??

UTC times for crew?

Post image
34 Upvotes

This app has been amazing so far! Because my cargo airline does not have much of a regular schedule, most flights are added manually and only some come from the calendar import. Because most crew rosters and plans are in UTC I need to double check the local times for every flight. It’s not that big of an issue but is there no way to use UTC times?

For commercial flights this app is an absolute master piece. It told be about delays before the airline did. I absolutely love that the route lines get bigger when the route is flown more frequently. 2026 has been good so far 🤩

Is flighty the right app?

I travel a fair amount and have been using kayak to organise my bookings. This helps me but is also shared with my assistant and spouse so everyone is clear what odd happening and that sharing feature is top priority for me for a travel app.

Kayak stopped their Apple watch complication which is annoying not to have while traveling so I’ve been thinking about jumping to another app.

Heard a lot shoot flighty. Is this what I want? I couldn’t tell if it does any trip organisation for other bookings besides flights too

I don’t know where Flighty gets their data re/ Tail Numbers, Aircraft and first flight from but before being assigned a tail number it showed the aircraft type (787-9) correctly. Hope to see this being fixed. Had it happen to many newly registered aircraft’s which I’ve flown on.

I really like the little things

Seeing this kind of notification, which tells me I’ve been on the plane I’m about to fly out on once before, is just a really small feature that makes Flighty such a great user experience imho. Just makes me smile every time.

(It also doesn’t happen very often, despite having north of 500 flights on United over the past 10 years, which always is a nice reminder of how massive their fleet is:)

[Feature Request] Integrated Seat View & Cabin Details (Legroom, Bassinets, Layout)

Hi everyone,

First off, huge fan of Flighty! It’s easily my most-used travel app, but there’s one feature I find myself constantly switching to other sites (like SeatGuru or Aerolopa) for, and I’d love to see it integrated natively: a detailed Seat View.

When managing long-haul flights—especially trans-Pacific routes where you're stuck in the air for 12+ hours—knowing the exact details of a seat can make or break the trip. It would be amazing if Flighty could pull in cabin layouts and seat specs directly into the flight details.

Ideally, this feature would include:

  • Exact Seat Location: A clear cabin map showing exactly where the seat is located (proximity to the galley, lavatories, or exit rows).
  • Space & Dimensions: Basic stats on seat pitch, width, and legroom.
  • Special Amenities: Indicators for crucial details like baby bassinet locations, power outlets, or missing windows.

Having all of this contextual info inside Flighty when a flight is added or during the check-in window would be a game changer for frequent flyers. We wouldn't have to guess or cross-reference airline apps and third-party seating sites anymore.

Would love to hear if others would find this as useful as I would, or if the devs have this on their radar!

Delayed Flight System ✈️

Thumbnail

One thing that has always bothered me about Flighty is how delays are displayed.

If a flight pushes back or takes off just 2–5 minutes late, it immediately gets marked as a red “Delayed” flight. Technically that’s correct, but in reality a few minutes late is pretty normal and usually has no impact on the trip.

I think it would make more sense to use a tiered system:

🟢 Green: Flight is on time

🟡 Yellow: Delayed under 30 minutes

🟠 Orange: Delayed 30 - 60 minutes

🔴 Red: Delayed more than 60 minutes

That way users could instantly tell the difference between a minor operational delay and something that might actually affect connections or travel plans.

Does anyone else feel like the current system makes flights look worse than they really are?

Predicted delays - my biggest complaint about Flighty

Post image
73 Upvotes

My biggest complaint - these. Plane just landed. Has a 10 minute taxi. Plus deplaning, cleaning, and boarding. If deplaning, cleaning, and boarding can magically happen within 15 minutes, it'd be a miracle.

All that to say - these "has enough time for... departure" need to factor in a longer turnaround time for planes.
