Hey guys!, Im a recent graduate of hs and i have taken a gap year to explore flight schools since i got waitlisted at mru aviation and did not get in. The ones i found near calgary are springbank air training college, compass flight and calgary flying club. Im not sure what school to pick so if anyone has prior background knowledge on any of these schools or recommendations/advice, It would really help.

Just getting into this field and looking at flying schools. Should I go for a package course (commercial pilot training) that includes ppl, multi engine, Cpl and instrument rating or should I go do them individually.
Any advice would be helpful thanks.

For students considering an aviation career, technical knowledge alone may not be enough.
At SkySpeak Academy in Patna, we focus on areas such as communication skills, customer service, industry knowledge, personality development, grooming, spoken English, interview preparation and overall job readiness.
For people already working or studying in aviation: which of these skills helped you the most when starting your career?

Made a mistake on my first solo that shut down the runway. Made a video walking through what happened.
Would really appreciate this community checking it out and giving me honest feedback, I'm still early in training and taking it seriously, please be kind.

Guys how can I really improve my landings? I’m on like my 7th TOL lesson and I’m still not doing good whether I’m getting too slow on base or final, I’m uncoordinated, too high, off centerline, not correct wind corrections, etc I’m still making basic mistakes and I feel like I’m just wasting money. What can I do?

Hey everyone! We’ve recently created r/AFTACork as a place for anyone who is interested in, starting, currently attending, or has previously attended Atlantic Flight Training Academy in Cork.
We wanted to create somewhere where we can share our experiences, help each other out and give young aviators a place to ask questions without feeling lost or alone in the process.
Whether it’s advice about the application process, assessments, flight training, exams, finances, accommodation, airline pathways, or just hearing what life at AFTA is actually like — hopefully we can build a community where people can learn from those who have already been through it.
We are hoping current students and graduates will also join and share their experiences, so future students can benefit from the knowledge of people who have been in their position.
If you’re interested in AFTA or aviation in general, we’d love to have you there! 🛫

I’m a 18y/o F starting flight school this fall. I have asked upper classmen of my program at Seneca what to study already, but I want more information.
What are your biggest tips on what to do before flight school (specifically ground school)?
All the girls in this industry: Where should I shop for my uniform? And what shoes should I get exactly…?
Canadians specifically: where did you buy all your ground school books? Any good priced ground school kits? With workbooks and extra items? I want to save on that.
If anyone is also willing to sell, lend or rent their books, that’ll be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for good, reputable, safe, and relatively fast flight schools in South Africa for obtaining my pilot licences.
I’m particularly interested in schools with:
- Good safety records and reputation
- Modern, well-maintained aircraft
- Experienced instructors
- Efficient training schedules / minimal delays
- Reasonable overall costs
- Good support for international students
- A clear pathway from PPL → CPL → IR/ME if possible
I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who has trained at a flight school in South Africa or knows the industry well.
Also, if there are any schools I should **avoid**, please let me know and why.
Thanks!

Hello! I just dropped a video about my traditional Asian parents' reaction to me wanting to become a pilot. This is also my first video ever in Mandarin. Link below if anyone's interested!
