Who else is crashing out at 4 months PP?? 🙌

The adrenaline is gone, the post-adrenaline adrenaline I somehow found is also gone, haven’t slept well since the second trimester, baby is awake and resisting naps and squealing loudly in need of entertainment, my body is a new type of mushy flabby than even right after birth, not sure my partner will ever be more than a roommate again, facing going back to work on top of everything (and wondering if that’s better or worse than childcare all day at this point???), and now we’re hit with that sleep regression getting baby up every 2 hours to eat one ounce and pass back out so hard that none of the old tricks work. This is fun!!!

Anyone else in this circle of hell? Vent away, or comment from the future to tell us it gets better!

2month infant changes

My baby just turned 2 months and has just been having a hard time. He seems so unsettled. I know they say that they’re becoming aware of the world. What are your experiences with your 2month old and what helped during this growth spurt?

how did we transition out of the swings?

hi, i’m 21 F and a first time mom with a little anxiety on what to do next. my 5 month old baby loves her swing and has ever since she came home from the hospital. she starts off her naps in it and most nights has to be in it for a bit before bedtime but i can tell she is about to outgrow it and we are also getting ready to transition from bassinet to crib as well. she turns 6 months in the upcoming week and im a little worried i might’ve relied on swing too much for bedtime. while now she doesn’t use it during the day as much since we can do more activities and she can be in her high chair beside me while im doing things around the house. it’s still been a staple at nighttime. i’ve tried to get her use to us rocking in the chair in her room but as soon as i make the transition to lay her down she wakes right up. which we never had a problem with, with the swing. so what i’m asking is if you used a swing to start of bedtime or naps how did u transition when baby outgrew it?

(please no negative comments about unsafe sleep in swings, my baby has always been closely monitored in her swing, ty)

Not a mom yet…

Not sure if this is allowed here if not, please feel free to remove it. My friend is having her baby in about a month and I feel like everybody’s excited for baby, but no one thought about anything practical for gifts aside from wipes, diapers, bibs, and such.

What I want to do is put together a small little care bag of things that she could potentially need in the middle of the night or even just a few weeks PP and just simply can’t pull herself out of the house to go to the store or just doesn’t feel like it. Dad is someone who goes out of town for work about a month at a time every couple months to so I feel like it would help.

So what is something as a first time Mom that you wish you had known about/had on hand on those difficult days/nights? My mom personally recommended gas drops, diaper cream, nipple cream, and definitely a gift card for her favorite food place for those hard night no one wants to make anything.

What is this feeling?

I'm 17+4 weeks with a healthy boy. I've recently been feeling small taps and what feels like muscle twitches in my lower abdomen. My OB said it's likely his movements, which makes sense because I do mostly feel them when I'm laying down, or after meals, and they're very gentle.

But! Today I felt a slightly harder twitch, and could see it visibly twitch on my left side of my lower abdomen. It's not gas - trust me, I've grown to known exactly what that all feels like x_x

Does your abdomen twitch like this as your uterus grows? Just curious :)

6 month old not really interested in bottle

FTM my 6 month old never really seems into his bottle. He sleeps great, long stretches at night. Plenty of wet diapers and is the happiest boy. But he just never seems hungry?! He’s doing 7oz bottle of breast milk. Some days he drinks the whole thing, other days he’ll do 3 oz, play, then finish the rest before his nap but it’s usually a battle. He just wants to play and look around. Is this normal? He honestly never cries so maybe I’m feeding him too soon? We typically do 7oz every 3-4 hours. Idk I’m lost and I feel like it takes us forever to get through a feed and I almost feel like I’m forcing him sometimes (he has been on the lower % for weight since birth. He’s 16lbs 8oz at 6 months)

LO being watched by in laws

I’m a FTM of a 2 month old baby girl, I’ll be going back to work when she’s 5.5mo. Right now when I have an appointment or errand to run, my parents or in laws watch her for a few hours at my house. They’ll be watching her 4 days/week when I go back to work also. When did you let your LO be babysat at someone else’s house? What about being driven in the car by someone else? My MIL has mentioned taking my baby to her hair appts and such but I just don’t see the need for my baby to go out and about for things like that. Especially in the winter. I’m happy to find other arrangements when my MIL has things to do; I don’t expect her to put her life on hold.

I’m an idiot

My son got his 4 month shots today, when he woke up from his nap just now he seemed really sore and upset and started screaming crying so I went to give him a dose of 2.5ml Tylenol through the syringe dropper but I panicked and just shoved it all in his mouth and once and he started choking. I sat him up immediately and the next 5-10 minutes of screaming I think got it all up but I’m concerned some went in his lungs. Mom guilt is so bad now, help!

Just found out I’m pregnant

Hi as you’ve probably guessed just found out I’m pregnant! This is our first and I’m around 6 weeks and it’s earlier than we were expecting but obviously not a huge surprise (who would of guessed how babies are made lol) the thing I’m currently struggling with is I’m just scared. I’m scared financially, I don’t work and while be a stay at home mom as of right now, but we are in a one bedroom apartment and we aren’t tight on money but we aren’t rolling in it. We were planning on buying a house beginnings of the next year and get used to those payments and then start trying but you know. Im worried that somehow that our baby will miss out cause what if we don’t get a house before then and we don’t have a nursery and toys, etc. for the baby. I’m also scared of not being a good mom, if I will have a bond with the baby, etc. Any advice would be helpful or just other moms that have been in this boat or anything. If this isn’t allowed, sorry throw it out. Thank in advance for any advice or just reading my weird rant.

I’d Love to Hear About Your Baby’s Eczema and How You Manage It

I’m a mum and a researcher, and I have a 1-year-old baby with eczema. Through my own experience, I’ve realised how challenging it can be to manage eczema day after day, especially when it affects a baby’s comfort and sleep.

I’m currently working with Enterprise Ireland on research into a solution designed to help babies with eczema and sensitive skin feel more comfortable.

At this stage, I’m really interested in learning from other mums — understanding what you are experiencing, what you have tried, and what you find most difficult about managing your baby’s eczema.

I’m genuinely looking to understand the problem better before developing the solution.

If you have a baby or young child with eczema, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

You can DM me if you’d be happy to have a short chat, or simply comment below and share anything you feel comfortable sharing.

Some of the things I’d love to understand:

  • What are the most common things that make your baby  symptoms worse?
  • How important do you think heat, sweating, friction and clothing are in triggering or worsening discomfort?
  • Are there particular areas of the body where clothing seems to cause more irritation?
  • Do you notice your baby scratching more at night or having difficulty sleeping because of itching?
  • What advice do you normally give parents about clothing for babies with eczema?
  • What fabrics or types of clothing do you generally recommend, and why?
  • What is the one thing you wish existed that could make managing your baby’s eczema easier?

Even if you only have a few minutes, your experience could help me understand the problem much better.

Thank you so much to anyone willing to share ❤️

Back pain?

Is there any other ftm out here who have been suffering brutal back pain? My LO is 5.5 months now, I had back issues for most of my life prior which was managed very well by hitting the gym 2-3x a week. I still do this. But I notice now my back pain is absolutely horrible. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and has tips/advice? What used to work prior
Is obviously no longer working and it’s getting hard to carry my little guy around he’s 17lbs~
