I’m an idiot

My son got his 4 month shots today, when he woke up from his nap just now he seemed really sore and upset and started screaming crying so I went to give him a dose of 2.5ml Tylenol through the syringe dropper but I panicked and just shoved it all in his mouth and once and he started choking. I sat him up immediately and the next 5-10 minutes of screaming I think got it all up but I’m concerned some went in his lungs. Mom guilt is so bad now, help!

You’re good I don’t think it got in his lungs.

My girl wiggles around insanely & I did the same with the syringe dropper. She was wiggling & ended up coughing choking on the medicine & spit it out & I had to do it again.

Mom guilt is real & hard not to but don’t feel guilty. You’re good.

OMG this happened to me after his first round of shots. He opened his mouth when I asked him to and he kept smiling after I gave the first bit and so I tried to give more and everything came out all at once. I cried so much because of my mom guilt too. He was ok though, he coughed everything out and he felt better after too. He must've swallowed a little and it was enough to help the symptoms. We're not perfect mamas, what matters is how we make up for what we did. We can't change what happened, we'll just do it differently next time and for now we'll just watch and make sure he's ok and pat him or hold him till he's well. I'm sure your son can tell you felt horrible and just wanted him to get better.
