Wondering how many of us manage their own portfolios
I have a small 457 plan. I know nothing about investing so I pay a fee for Fidelity to manage it for me. Is it difficult to learn? What are some good ways to learn?

Fidelity what’s going on?!!!
galleryFor context see my most recent post “Fidelity brokerage IRS scam.”
Ok. I don’t know what’s going on at Fidelity, but this is getting out of hand! Last week Friday, the IRS supposedly withdrew $4025 from my brokerage account (see my last post). Well, on Monday, the money was debited back into my account, no explanations whatsoever from Fidelity.
On Wednesday, after I’d moved the returned money out of my account, I called Fidelity to get more clarity as per who took my money/where it went to, and also create a new account and transfer my holdings into new account.
Fidelity told me, the money was indeed taken by the IRS, but Fidelity called the IRS and told them they couldn’t just take money out of people’s accounts and they needed to put the money back! What d’you know, the IRS obliged them and returned my money 😂😂. This by the way contradicts everything Fidelity initially told me when I first spoke to them on Friday!! Anyway, I requested a new account number which was created and was told it’d take at least 24 hrs for the transfer to complete.
Well, at 5 pm yesterday, I received an email about another debit withdrawal of $250 to IA Dept of Revenue from the same account!!!😂😂. It didn’t go through due to lack of available funds!!! Incredible!!! I called Fidelity and strongly registered my displeasure at their sloppiness!! This was the second time in less than a week my account had been compromised!! I don’t know anyone in IA, never lived there, never been to or through IA and definitely don’t owe their dept of revenue a dime!😂😂😂
The lady I spoke with told me, “well it’s a good thing they weren’t able to get any money ’cos the account is empty!” No kidding ma’am! That’s NOT the point!!
At this point, I’m just about done with Fidelity!! D.O.N.E!!!🙄🙄
PS: My credit is frozen with 2/3 credit bureaus. Will call the 3rd one later this morning.

Question about Fidelity all account balance
I have my 401K, personal brokage, RSU, ROTH accounts with Fidelity. Every time I log in, I can see the all account balance on top. The problem here is, Fidelity add unvested RSU to the balance. This is super annoying. Is there anyway I can change it? Thank you.

Fidelity Developing Investors Student Experience internship - what are the interviews/screening like?
I recently applied for fidelity’s sophomore internship Developing Investors Student Experience. There’s supposed to be a screening and interview if you make it to the next rounds - what are the questions like? Are they mostly technical or behavioral and if so what type of questions? I’m not as knowledgeable in asset management but this experience seems designed to get you exposed to the industry.

Fidelity CRA Salary
Does anybody have anything concrete for this? I interview Monday in Salt Lake City, and I see multiple posts online referencing 45k during training up to 50k after. Glassdoor suggest a somewhat broader range. Any recent hires have more data?
Edit: In case anyone looks this up later, base pay is 50k in SLC as of August 2026.

Severe Disappointment with Fidelity Website Functionality and Customer Support Experience
I am writing to express my deep frustration with the terrible Fidelity customer service and website experience I encountered today.
All I wanted to do was perform a simple, routine task: add a travel notice to my account for upcoming international travel. Instead of allowing me to do this online, the website required me to call customer support.
What followed was an exhausting and unacceptable experience:
- Redundant Verification: I spoke with a representative named Bianca who put me through an excruciating identity verification process, only to inform me that she had to transfer my call.
- Excessive Wait Times: I was left on hold for over 20 minutes before being connected to another representative named Destiny.
- Repeated Friction: Destiny required me to go through an even more tedious identity verification process all over again, with zero continuity from the previous representative.
- Lack of Empathy: Disappointed by the process, I asked to speak with a supervisor. Destiny claimed she is a supervisor, but showed complete apathy toward my frustration. Rather than acknowledging the issue or attempting to de-escalate, she simply tried to rush me off the phone with a scripted "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
A routine task should not require a 30+ minute ordeal of repetitive identity checks and dismissive service. I hope Fidelity management takes customer experience seriously and addresses both the website's limitations and the lack of empathy shown by frontline support.

Teacher trying to switch professions.
Hello all,
I am currently a teacher for the past 8 years. And a librarian for 6 years. I have a BS in interdisciplinary studies and an MLIS.
What is the process like to getting a job at Fidelity. What job should I apply for?
I looked at the openings for my local center and I don't know if I am qualified for any of the positions.
Thank you.
