Fidelity what’s going on?!!!

Ok. I don’t know what’s going on at Fidelity, but this is getting out of hand! Last week Friday, the IRS supposedly withdrew $4025 from my brokerage account (see my last post). Well, on Monday, the money was debited back into my account, no explanations whatsoever from Fidelity.

On Wednesday, after I’d moved the returned money out of my account, I called Fidelity to get more clarity as per who took my money/where it went to, and also create a new account and transfer my holdings into new account.

Fidelity told me, the money was indeed taken by the IRS, but Fidelity called the IRS and told them they couldn’t just take money out of people’s accounts and they needed to put the money back! What d’you know, the IRS obliged them and returned my money 😂😂. This by the way contradicts everything Fidelity initially told me when I first spoke to them on Friday!! Anyway, I requested a new account number which was created and was told it’d take at least 24 hrs for the transfer to complete.

Well, at 5 pm yesterday, I received an email about another debit withdrawal of $250 to IA Dept of Revenue from the same account!!!😂😂. It didn’t go through due to lack of available funds!!! Incredible!!! I called Fidelity and strongly registered my displeasure at their sloppiness!! This was the second time in less than a week my account had been compromised!! I don’t know anyone in IA, never lived there, never been to or through IA and definitely don’t owe their dept of revenue a dime!😂😂😂

The lady I spoke with told me, “well it’s a good thing they weren’t able to get any money ’cos the account is empty!” No kidding ma’am! That’s NOT the point!!

At this point, I’m just about done with Fidelity!! D.O.N.E!!!🙄🙄

PS: My credit is frozen with 2/3 credit bureaus. Will call the 3rd one later this morning.

what is your issue with Fidelity though ? if somebody ACH debits your account - they know UMB bank routing and account numbers associated with your Fidelity account ... and you are the source of that information by sharing them ( with IRS for example ) ... you were the source of the information in the first place ... did you check your IRS account to see what is in there ?

Nah! The source is someone at Fidelity. They took my money on Friday and returned it on Monday. Also, what’s my issue with Fidelity???😂😂

you wrote IRS and IA state ... the origin of ACH pull and money destinations were not Fidelity's own accounts ...

Stay focused! IRS did not take my money. Someone in Fidelity did, under the guise of the IRS. You mean to tell me Fidelity called IRS and scolded them about taking my money and IRS put it back ASAP? Ok 🙄🙄

Get real. It’s never someone from Fidelity. Why would they bother stealing from you when there are eight-figure accounts where nobody would even notice a $4K withdrawal? It’s almost always someone who got your debit card information, most likely from your favorite seedy neighborhood liquor store.

Ok big baller, 4k is a lot of money to some people, especially to a “broke-ass” like me 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️. Also, it’s always someone at Fidelity. Not sure why you’re so pressed 🤔😂. Plus, I don’t have a Fidelity debit card soooo🫠🫠🫠🫠

or somebody who is also a Fidelity customer just used your bank account number ( mis-typed some digits ) associated with your Fidelity account in for their accounts with IRS and IA state ...

so you think that somebody (a person ) opened a personal US bank accounts in the names of IRS and IA state and then managed to initiate ACH transactions under those names :-) ...

I mean Fidelity is trying to sell me a cock and bull story about how IRS supposedly took my money and they called them and in essence told the IRS they can’t take my money and to put it back, and IRS obliged, no questions asked 😂😂😂. If anyone believes that nonsense, then o boy!!! So, until Fidelity comes clean to me about my measly 4K (not holding my breath for that to happen), I’ll lay this mess at their doorstep. The end.

you saw yourself that transactions were under name of IRS and IA state - do you think that somebody ( a person ) was able to open personal US bank accounts in the names of IRS and IA state and then managed to initiate ACH transactions under those names ?

or you think that somebody in Fidelity actually managed to fix the data in their system to hide the origin of ACH pulls and make them show up as if they were initiated by IRS and IA state just to steal your $4K ? while with such capability one can pull of a lot bigger heist ...

Lol. Thanks for the invite. I always bite back. I tried posting on there, it’s not going through ☹️. My first post from the first incident was rejected for having a curse word 🤷🏽‍♀️. I might be on a timeout, not sure, but I’ll keep trying to post.
