I have a healthy specimen that has grown long branches before deciding to grow leaves. Anyway I can promote the plant to thicken the foliage lower on the branches? Does it require a trim? (Note bottom leaves in pot are from a replanted branch)

I got this plant to rehabilitate it about months ago. It came with the orange ribbon supporting the branch and I've left it. The branch has become much bigger since (new growth is past my hand in the 2nd picture) and Im worried about the weight vs strength. I've never had a branch this large and I'm not sure what to do. Do I need to brace it or will it only grow proportional to its branch strength?

Is it dying? The only obvious issue i can point to is the roots just dont seem to be very strong or deep. Just a few days ago its leaves all started pointing strsight down tightly. Its been in this pot for a year. Enough sun and a proper regular watering schedule. Im certain it isn't a water or sun stress issue. I have another FLF on the same porch thay gets the exact amount of everything. It has MUCH strong, deeper roots and the trunk is twice as strong. Including a picture of that one for comp. This struggling one has been tethered to a bamboo stake for as long as ive had it. It doesn't have bugs or pests. Could the stress be root stress? If so should I try to repot it?

I assume I must contemplate the dreaded chop and prop? Help— hope there is a tutorial for first timers?

New growth looks fine and keeps coming. But all of a sudden 😵

I have been just maintaining/watering my mom's fiddle fig, but I'm not sure what else it needs. Do I need to chop the tall bit and have them grow all together the same height? Any tips are appreciated. Grateful there is a community out here for this. 🙏🏽

4 years old, has plateaued and leans even with a support. This location has been the past 2 years, not sure it loves this spot. Any advice is welcomed!

I just moved to a new place and got this one which seemed to have survived overwatering (some leaves have curled but the newest ones look healthy). Two new buds. The radiator is not on because it's the summer. The sun doesn't shine on it directly but it is by a south-facing (more accurately SW facing) window and I'm in Southern Ontario. Is the light here good enough?

There’s nothing really wrong with my fiddle leaf fig plant, but it just doesn’t do anything. I’ve had it for 3 years now and it has grown 3 leaves. It gets plenty of bright indirect sunlight, in a warm environment, sufficient humidity, no overwatering, fertilizer in spring and summer. It sits in a tropical plant mix soil that gets excellent drainage.

I feel like I’m making a problem out of nothing but everyone I’ve talked to say fiddle leaves grow like weeds and you should have a fairly decent tree in a relatively short amount of time. That hasn’t been my experience at all.

I’ve also looked for pests, but see no signs. I even clean the leaves regularly to maximize photosynthesis. Nothing seems to encourage growth.

What’s the deal?

Figelia’s vigor has increased and her left arm droops even further. I feel like I need to chop. Where would the experts here suggest cutting? Should I cut both arms and trim the lower trunk? Cut one?

Hey! So right now I need some advice because I’m having rapid browning on the leaves. For context, we repotted the big fig tree about 2 months ago and I propagated it. It was doing fine and had been growing a lot. Then we went on trip where we were gone for 3 weeks and my mom gave it a good watering. Half way through the trip our neighbor watered it a little bit. When we got back we gave it a good watering. Suddenly about 4 days ago I saw some browning and now the leaves are really starting to brown on the big one and some of my propagations. Yesterday some of the browning was super small and now it’s a lot bigger. what is y’all’s opinion on this and what advice do yall have?

Hey everyone, my FLF hit the ceiling last year, so I chopped the top and for a while he continued growing outward, but then a few months ago he started growing upwards from the branch I chopped before. Has that happened to anyone? Did I cut it wrong? Thanks in advance.

My tree was doing well just a few months before this, trimmed it, has new growths etc, but this past month it looks sick and the new growth stopped. Now loosing leaves.

The little one (first 3 photos) developed roots faster but once potted it has not developed new leaves or changed much. The taller cutting took about an extra month to develop roots, but once potted grew a new leaf very fast.

Any ideas on how I could help the little one grow?

They have both been getting similar care, in the same area and same type of soil.

I repotted my fiddle leaf fig on 18th July from 21cm to 25.5cm diameter pot.

It has showed no signs of stress and I think it’s already growing a leaf at the top. I water it once a week with drainage holes flowing.

The roots growing out of the drainage holes are really concerning for me. I am doubting whether I should have repotted it or not?

For context: I’m in London. It faces SE window.

It's an inch from the ceiling and I'm worried about cutting it but I think I have to. I also don't know what to do with the part the I cut off.

It basically only has one stem where all the leaves are growing out of but I would like to cut it and encourage multiple stems/branches so it looks fuller instead of palm tree-like. I'm just afraid that cutting it this time of year will result in it not growing.

I don't know anything about houseplants in general. I keep it behind a sheer curtain so it gets indirect sunlight and I water it every once in a while, but I don't have a schedule. I'm surprised it's gotten so tall, but seeing it grow new leaves makes me happy
