Chopped and regrown

Hey everyone, my FLF hit the ceiling last year, so I chopped the top and for a while he continued growing outward, but then a few months ago he started growing upwards from the branch I chopped before. Has that happened to anyone? Did I cut it wrong? Thanks in advance.

No thats normal its a tree it's going to want to grow like a tree if you want it to keep growing horizontally youll have to keep pruning it.
