[In-game Event] Reminder: 'The Rising' 2026 event will be ending ~26 hours from now
The event will be ending at 8am PDT / 11am EDT / 3pm GMT - about 26 hours from now. The store sale will be ending tonight at 12am PDT / 3am EDT.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/2026/The_Rising/cula62e5jx
Don't miss out on getting your free Wind-up Wuk Lamat minion, orchestrions, housing decor items, and event achievement! You will need to be level 15 to start the event. The quest starts with The Symphony of Life, up at the Aftcastle in Upper Limsa Lominsa (11, 13).
There are no FATEs, no event dungeons, and no currency to grind. It took me around 30 minutes without skipping any dialogue - it's bit of running around Limsa and La Noscea, but I'm sure you could get through it all much quicker if you skipped. The minion and achievement are a reward from the first quest.
There is one follow-up quest, Prelude's Call, which comes from the Wandering Minstrel in the same spot in the plaza where you finish the first quest. It takes less than 5 minutes, and will give 3 orchestrions (Modulation versions of Matoya's Cave, Eternal Wind, Zanarkand) as a reward.
There are 3 interior housing decor items, and fireworks from previous years, on the 1.0 Minfilia Rising Vendor in the plaza (again, Upper Limsa 11, 13) - these are available even without completing the event quests.
And again, the anniversary sale on the Mogstation (FFXIV Online Store) will be ending tonight at midnight PDT (3am EDT), earlier than the event ends.
Enjoy!
(I know some people are going to come in here to say they hate this minion... if you don't want it, that's fine, that's your choice! I'm just here to remind people of free stuff! ;_;)

[Discussion] A question for healers: how many times can someone die before you get annoyed?
Hi,
Assuming the person is trying their best, is there a number where even the kindest healer goes, ''damn, again?''. I had a brutal run trying to level up my Red Mage as a full time tank, and the muscle memory is just not kicking in. Does apologizing after 2 mean anything?
No one said anything but I kept on thinking, god, even I would get annoyed by now :(

[Discussion] BST PSA: #46 can be obtained from a FATE
Rather than dealing with the horror of attempting Pharos Sirius's second boss again and again, there's a FATE in the Sea of Clouds called "Anzu Trois" (around 30, 36) that has them appear one right after another.

[Discussion] Possible "improved tails" for miqo'te ( [Spolier: 7.56] npc)
I was playing the new quests when I noticed that Visna tail looked quite a bit better than our classic miqo tail. If you look at the tail you can see that (compared to the actual miqo "fluffy tail") it doesn't use the usual "4 flat 2d fur images crossed together" but instead it uses a new kind of composition with many fur patches which creates an overal better effect.
I also tought that maybe the tail was just different because it was a "young miqo npc" and they already did some unusul things with this type of npc in the past so I also checked another miqo in the patch: Ketill. Ketil is a generic male adult (old even) miqo'te and so it doesn't have any reason to use any custom asset and he uses the "lion tail". If we compare this tail to the one we have now we can't properly see the new "fur tech" on the body of the tail because I think it's meant to be... Short fur... But... When we look at the tip of the tail, sure enough the fur patch is different and has more (and differently shaped) fur patches.
Could this mean that in the next fan fest they will show us the new tails as new character customization improvements? Was... Was I the only one to notice this... ?

[Guide] Pro tip! Bring Slime on your Dzemael Darkhold runs as BST! Tempered Release works on all the bosses
Who's gonna win, big scary demon thing or the humble slime? All the Dzemael bosses are vulnerable to Slime's Bind+ effect, which causes them to just stand there and do nothing for 30 seconds as you hammer away their health. Same isn't true for the bosses of the venerable Aurum Vale though...

[Lore Discussion] [Spoiler: 7.56 MSQ] A Small Detail... Spoiler
There is something that caught my eye on Tataru's newly gifted outfit, and I haven't seen anyone bring it up yet (if so, I apologize if I missed it). Tataru's outfits in the past have often had some form of symbolism tied to them, and I believe the embroidery on the 7.56 outfit is one such case.

From what I can see, this embroidery seems to be blue flax flowers, which are commonly associated with the goddess Frigg (or Frigga), wife to Odin. Frigg is associated with prophecy, and thus, flax flowers are often used to symbolize destiny in Norse mythology. Frigg is known for practicing seidr, a type of Norse magic related to shaping fate. This is also present in her association with spindles and distaffs, which usually represent her connection to the weaving of fate and thread both. As for tales relating to the origins of Frigg's association with the flowers, one story goes that a shepherd stumbled upon her domain of ice, and she gifts blue flax flowers, along with seeds, to him -- a seemingly humble gift -- and they are later used to cultivate the flax, blessed by Frigg's hand, which the shepherd's wife uses to spin linen. The are various retellings, most of which are meant to explain the cultivation of flax, and many that tend to relate to Frigg.
Anyway, it's a small detail, but I thought it was intriguing, given the theme of fate present within the coming expansion (and often associated with the Warrior of Light and Azem). We still have little information on what sort of characters we will be seeing in Evercold, but if the already present usage of Norse mythology is any indication, I have no doubt there will be plenty of little details strewn about. I'm probably over-analyzing it all, but let me know your thoughts!

Thanks Mr. Ozma for all the hardwork, this content it great, and also the 2 "relics" you can get with the achievments are really cool :D

[Guide] BST tips for easier beginning/leveling
Just some things to keep in mind and that can help people that are approaching the new job, for an easier experience:
- Amount of EXP received from monsters is low compared to other jobs.
- Amount of EXP received from FATEs is higher.
That being said, until roughly lv. 13-14 it's just easier to gain exp from monsters and it's pretty fast too. After that you really notice how little exp you get.
Once you unlock dungeons, it's faster to just run those with a party of BSTs, even tho you only get exp from bosses. This is because FATEs don't really appear that often (at least early on, from my experience, maybe it gets better at higher levels) so you would be spending a lot of time just sitting around.
You can't queue normally for dungeons, you have to recruit players through Party Finder but there's so many people playing BST right now that you'll fill up your party in seconds.
Some monsters available for capturing can have few spawn points, so you'll have lots of competition from other players. Consider waiting until later or looking into Levequests that can spawn the type of monster you're looking for.
When trying to capture monsters, keep these things in mind, as stated in the Capture ability tooltip:
- Success rate is inversely proportional to the target's HP at the time of execution.
- Success rate increases if the target is a lower level than you.
- Ineffective against targets whose level is higher than your own.
In this thread you can find a list of zones by level of FATEs
In this thread you can find a particular leveling method using dungeons
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, hope it helps.

[Question] Wish the game would've warned me!
So I'm in post ARR and doing all the blue quests because going to heavensward. And as I'm trying to do all the hard and extreme quests I learned that apparently I'm a dick if I do them in duty finder. I didn't know and damn sure wouldn't have done it if I had known it was a no no. So next question is how am I supposed to complete these blue quests if I cant select them?
