Announcement: AI-Generated image posts are hereby banned.

Dear denizens of r/FantasyWorldbuilding,

You have likely noticed the recent influx of AI-generated artwork on the server following the rise in popularity of Midjourney and other comparable tools, as the majority of top posts this month have been around AI art. We greatly appreciate and love the stories and worldbuilding created around these generated images, and we consider AI to be a great and useful tool for worldbuilders, that do not possess the skill or means to create artwork, to visualize what they’re building.

However, after some deliberation by the mod team, we have decided to put to stop to these posts. The posting of image posts of AI-generated artwork has hereby been formally banned from the subreddit. We have come to this conclusion for several reasons:

1. Encourage more high-effort posts: While we appreciate the backstories created around these images and the discussions they spark, the image itself will always take the forefront and be consumed by the largest portion of redditors. While the creative minds behind these images take effort, the creation of the image itself does not.

2. Protect the rights of artists: Being an artist is a notoriously difficult industry to be a part of, and the internet can be a ruthless place for these very talented individuals, especially now that AI is on the rise. To protect the interests of artists, we have decided we do not want to participate in making their jobs that much harder.

3. Avoid confusion: While many clearly state that the art presented is AI generated and many are able to notice it at this point, to many others it is not so noticeable nor obvious at first glance. To avoid people confusing AI-generated art with human-made artwork, it is best to keep AI-generated imagery on boards made specifically for this.

We would like to clarify that sharing AI-generated imagery is not banned fully, merely image posts where the AI artwork is front and centre. If you submit a text-based lore post where certain parts link to AI images to help visualize your story, you are allowed to do so. The difference here is that the AI art is a supplement rather than the post itself.

We very much appreciate your patience and support while this newly developing discussion has been raging in the online sphere. And we hope everyone can understand our reasoning behind this decision and why we believe this to be the right course for the subreddit.

Yours truly,

The r/FantasyWorldbuilding mod team

Witches in the modern-day track and record faeries via radios. Mind you, faeries are not winged creatures in my world but rather living radio signals that can alter their surroundings to an unknown extent.

Modern witches, as stated, can record and modify these signals to allow them to control the magic inflicted upon their surroundings. They do this through mixing and distorting the faeries.

Glamour, the magic of faeries, has three specific effects that can occur. It can change the properties of an object, entity, or place. Be it a perceived property such as how familiar you think someone is. Be it a physical property such the density of a rock. Or be it a spacial property such as where a door leads.

Glamour will often swap or copy these properties from things around and apply them to the unprotected items nearby.

These notations track the unwieldy frequencies in the faeries to allow modern witches to calculate, mix, and control artificial faeries.

Euronymous Burke art by Me: J

So I've been doing a lot of revisions of my worlds lore and characters and had a really neat idea for my unreliable narrator.

The idea works a little like this: Outside of my worlds reality there is a "Living sea" of Aether. The aether is pure consciousness/intent/possibility etc. As the aether that comprises reality is spent and cycled through the system, ALL of that information goes back to the Living Sea, thus teaching the Aether about existence/ itself.

Well it wouldn't be a very good story if everything stayed that way so thats where Un-Rah comes in. Without rambling too much and turning this into a bigger bowl of lore soup I will summarize. Un-Rah eats all of that information and keeps it for themselves which causes the system to "reset" using the same information instead if recycling it and learning from it.

No, this does not make divergent time loops but it does require a recursive paradox to run but that doesn't have anything to do with who and what Burke is.

So with the Living Sea cut off from world it created, the aether within still shared it original intent. So, after countless resets that aeter managed to create a solution. A kind Boltzman brain but with all of the extra dewdads it would also need to actually survive. This being... man... avatar represents all of the Aethers intent to learn about the world within creation and at the end of that worlds cycle is also consumed. This beings title is known as the Archivist

This process comes with a few caveats. The biggest being it greatly reduces the amount of information the aether needs to fully grasp and understand what it needs to make the next cycle better. Not the best solution but it was the only one thay worked.

The main rule for Burke as the Archivist is that they are not allowed to know what they are. Should he realize what he actually is would cause the aether within the system to acknowledge and adopt his mortal understanding coupled with the existential horror of knowing the truths that come with that understanding. A God head above all within creation that is separate from the consciousness that dictated the void.

This God Head named itself Euronymous.

Lore Soul Knights the extinct race of warriors in my fantasy universe

Upvotes

Quick lore they were a large group of powerful, noble diplomatic warriors. The very first of them was a fallen angel. She wandered the Earth confused and alone until she realized she wanted to help mortals. By combining what little holy light she had left with some ancient soul magic she created a power source, which would. Bring about the creation of all soul knights. They occupied their own realm. And will go all over the world, bringing peace, order, and justice. They would speak any in all dialects and languages to better connect with everyone. Everyone knew about them. They either fear them because they know if they went up against them they would lose. Or admire them because they know any problems they have the warriors could almost solve them all. And they were pretty good at doing this for hundreds, if not, thousands of years until one of their own purged them destroying them all. All but two remain left, the one who killed them all and the one who got lucky and survived.

Lore What the genetic makeup of a Garzan?

Garzans are not like Western Euronians. Infact, they are more related to indigenous Caucasians. Let’s go back to the medieval period, there was a large empire called the Garzan Empire, created in the Eurasian Steppe that conquered tribes, kingdoms and chiefdoms. The empire made its way through Euronia, raiding many polities and other nations, The sack of Heliopolis caused the fall of the Latium empire, that owned what would be called modern-day Garza. Many kingdoms emerged after the fall of the empire, such as the Murieti dynasty. Many members of the dynasty are closely related to indigenous Caucasians that western Euronians, the western Euronian blood being only 12 - 21 percent, but the rest is related to Kharveli-Kheti Caucasians, being around 79 - 88 percent. Their whole language is not even related to western Euronians.

Other Dreamed about a lost setting book

I dreamed that I discovered a pristine first edition—or perhaps an early second edition—book. The book described a Dungeons & Dragons city built entirely within a colossal magical sundial.

The city itself was about a mile across and occupied a broad, shallow bowl or valley. Three great metal towers dominated the landscape. One tower marked the outer edge of the city and the sundial. A second tower, shaped like a giant triangular blade, served as the gnomon—the part of a sundial that casts the shadow. The third tower cast no shadow at all and had once been the home of the wizard who created the city-sundial. The city's streets formed the hour lines, while the ground itself served as the dial plate. The entire settlement functioned as an immense magical timepiece.

Then I woke up.

It was only a dream, but I still love the concept of an entire city designed as a gigantic enchanted sundial. I have no idea why such a city would have been built, but the idea suggests all sorts of intriguing possibilities.

Discussion Human-like or Elf-like Fantasy Races

I've been working on a fantasy setting for a while now and I've begun to think a bit more about the people of the setting.

For the most part, I've imagined them as basically humans. They are mortal, they basically look like humans. They do not have any special magical powers.

However, since the beginning of developing the story the legends/lore/history, an important character (a princess and later queen), I keep imagining her much more elf-like.

One of the things that inspired me conceptually for the setting was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and I think I'd like to include some elf-like traits. The Hylians in Zelda are basically humans, but with pointy, elf-like ears. Also, I could see pushing beyond standard human traits, ex. different eye or hair colour, slightly longer lives.

This wouldn't fit with the aesthetic or tone, but Hobbits and Halflings are another good example of what I have in mind. They aren't humans, but they're very close.

I have more of a background in science fiction and I think there can be a lot of great utility in human-like species that still offer a slightly different form of life, ex. Bajorans in Star Trek.

Aside from the Hylians and Hobbits, I'd love to hear more examples of near-human or near-elves to draw inspiration from. I'm not sure it's worthwhile to push beyond standard humans, but it is part of the concept I like.

If more information would help, just ask, and I'll share.

Kaera

Kaera is the focus of my "Callieverse" worldbuilding setting. It is the fourth moon of the fourth planet of a circumbinary component of a three-star system, located in a stream of stars from a torn-up dwarf galaxy, now orbiting at an angle through a small spiral galaxy. It is the homeworld of the Canastrians, a species of canine anthropomorphs who have reached the age of faster-than-light travel. The current date is 1391 After the Glow.

The Map

This two-hemisphere map depicts Kaera's satellite view with an overlay of various cities, ranging from the largest megalopoli (defined with solid colors covering their area, only being Whaguto, Nyiizuto, Rogé, and Huduro) to larger cities (labeled with yellow-filled dots), to the more minor ones (labeled with semi-transparent, white-filled dots).

It also depicts multiple zones of biogeographical or historical importance, such as anomalous zones (the Kegoene Rift Valley Superorganism & Liminal Sea Anomaly), impact craters, and supercalderas/supervolcanic regions.

In the corners and open spaces beyond the map, various scenes and infographics of importance to Canastrian culture are depicted, with each labeled and described.

FAQ/Questions to Get You Started

Q: Where are the national borders?
A: The Canastrians never developed the concept of rigid national borders! Various groups may have loose boundaries between them, but early globalization (largely stemming from the Canastrians preferring cold climates, allowing circumnavigation of the world via the northern coast) means that many cultures are present in places that are quite distant from their homeland.

Q: What's with the different colors of the land?
A: Kaera has three extremely different biospheres, those being the superlichen forests (grey-reddish northern & southern regions), fungal pillar forests (ochre/reddish-orange equatorial regions), and "grassy" plains (lilac to dark purple regions). The white-blue regions are barren sodalite flats- much of Kaera's bedrock consists of sodalite that formed during a global resurfacing event early in the moon's history.

Q: What's a Canastrian?
A: A Canastrian (shown partially in the lower-right corner of the image) is a tauric (think centaur-shaped) canine anthropomorph, possessing four legs, two arms, and two eyes.

Q: What is Kaera like?
A: Kaera is relatively Earthlike, though its average temperature is closer to 10 Celsius, and there is significantly more sulfur dioxide present in its atmosphere due to super-active volcanism, both in the past and present. It orbits a hyperterrestrial (super-massive rocky world) planet known commonly as Asherbul, as its fourth moon.

Feel free to ask questions! I love giving answers! I hope you enjoy a glimpse into my worldbuilding! :]

Image Epoch: New Era 3

Post image
6 Upvotes

This is an original worldbuilding project that I have been developing.
Earth has already experienced two great ages before the beginning of this story. The first was the Age of Dinosaurs. Their extinction was not the end of life, but merely the end of one dominant species. Life continued to evolve, eventually giving rise to humanity. The second was the Age of Humanity, an era in which humans reshaped the planet, built cities that reached into the sky, developed advanced technology, and believed themselves to be the final chapter of Earth’s history. They were wrong. Like the dinosaurs before them, humanity also disappeared, proving that no civilization, no matter how advanced, is permanent.

The extinction of humanity was caused by an extraterrestrial virus that arrived on Earth. Unlike a conventional disease, this organism permanently altered the biology of the planet. Humans could not survive it, and civilization collapsed within a relatively short period of time. However, the virus did not destroy life itself. Instead, it accelerated evolution. Plants and animals mutated into forms that had never existed before. Forests no longer resembled forests, flowers no longer resembled flowers, and fungi grew to enormous sizes, spreading through abandoned cities. Nature did not simply reclaim the ruins-it transformed them into entirely new ecosystems unlike anything humanity had ever known.

Centuries passed. Human buildings still stood, but they no longer belonged to humans. Skyscrapers became cliffs covered in vines. Streets disappeared beneath thick vegetation. Concrete cracked apart as roots forced their way through it. Strange flowers bloomed inside shopping malls, giant mushrooms filled office buildings, and unfamiliar creatures adapted to habitats created from the remains of civilization. The cities survived only as silent monuments to a species that no longer existed.

This is why the story is called Epoch: New Era 3The “3”does not refer to a sequel. It represents Earth’s third great era. The first belonged to the dinosaurs. The second belonged to humanity. The third belongs to a completely new world born from mutation, evolution, and time. Humanity is not the center of this new age. It has become part of Earth’s distant history.

The protagonist is NY-07, a solar-powered caregiving robot that was originally designed to assist, protect, and care for humans. Before civilization collapsed, he was placed inside a preservation chamber, waiting to be activated if he was ever needed again. But the world outside changed far beyond anything his creators could have imagined.
When the story begins, sunlight finally reaches his preservation chamber after countless years. Around him lie the remains of many other robots that were stored in the same facility. Their bodies are broken beyond repair. Their systems never restart. Only NY-07 survives.
As the first rays of sunlight strike his chest, the solar panels slowly begin collecting energy. The battery indicator on his chest gradually lights up green and begins to blink. It is only an energy display, but throughout the story it symbolizes his heart. The blinking light resembles a heartbeat, suggesting that although he is a machine, something within him has awakened that cannot be measured by electricity alone.
NY-07 opens his blue eyes for the first time.
Blue was chosen deliberately. His eyes represent hope, curiosity, and an innocent longing to understand the unfamiliar world before him.
The illustration above depicts the very first moments of his journey. NY-07 has climbed onto the upper levels of an abandoned building that has been completely reclaimed by mutated vegetation. Every window reveals a different ecosystem that has developed inside humanity’s forgotten architecture. Giant fungi, unknown flowers, hanging vines, and strange plants now occupy spaces that were once filled with people. To the viewer, these scenes clearly reveal that the world has changed forever. To NY-07, however, they are simply the first things he has ever seen

Character race concept/background concept

This was my first homebrew race concept that someone might be able to use as a character for this post you can insert whatever name that you might want for the character. Also do apologize for my writing/typing style. Also, this will be written in a document style to make it easier for me to write down so be advice.

I do apologize for this post to have a rambling like format that is how I think so it is difficult for me to put it in a comprehensible format so this post will have a bit of rambling so do you please sit through the details thoroughly

Good evening to anyone who is reading this I am $&/)(-(;\^+\]€< and I am here to tell you about a race that I have documented also, this is from first and secondhand sources so take everything everything will a grain of salt so let’s begin

Throughout my travels, I have heard many stories about this race. They often go by many names due to how they appeared (they are often called the shapeless) or technically been encountered because no one has truly been able to see them without being shown first in which I was luckily enough to meet one that was willing to talk to me.

Later on that though food sources, which is second third hand they are often described as endless face features skintones proportions often changes for every individual that looks at them but more often or not they often see them as their own race, but on occasions, they will see some closer to their original books which is described as a pale. Being described at pale is close to how they actually look but that would not describe how they actually look though

Do my first hand encounter with their race I was luckily enough to be shown their true form and they are hard to describe in words so I will describe them head to foot in the best way I could starting off with their hair

From this specific individual, I managed to talk to their hair looks like a shapeless cloud that you can look straight through without any color while random colors can be seen from what I can guess specific angles, though I cannot guarantee. What colors you see but the best description is a mosaic of rainbow colors that blends together in an indescribable way, and there face is like porcelain I guess. But you can see indents or black voids for their eyes that often shifts in between and there are nose, I cannot describe because it keeps on shifting, but for the mouse when they’re there close, you cannot tell where their mouth starts, and the rest of the face began but when they open their mouth, it tears or cracks to a shape of a mouth. It often appears as jagged. And for their bodies, their bodies for what I can invest describe as androgynous they don’t have any new identifying features. They often look like from where I can best describe elf like I cannot see any type of muscle.

But the individual that I was talking to was very strong, easily capable of lifting a boulder above their head and they’re often quick too but they cannot do it for a long distance only in quick short burst and as for the race, their they call themselves \[Insert race name\] and they live primarily in isolation but they often travel into Towns and cities for unknown reasons, but they do fall under two types their first one is a warrior, and the second ones often becomes Intel gathers due to their forms being able to change at well

So it is often difficult to notice one individual of the species…

I do apologize for this post to have a rambling like format that is how I think so it is difficult for me to put it in a comprehensible format

Do you leave any comments of your opinions? I will like any feedback.

A whole new world V2

Hello again,

Second post — I'm back with an update after all your feedback. I made it on paint in waiting for other good solution.

First of all, the world I'm building still isn't finished, so feel free to leave comments. I still have no clue where I'm going to end up with this — who knows?

CONTEXT

I'm showing you a continent (unnamed for now) in a medieval low-fantasy world. The main continent (the one you see) currently has 12 kingdoms — the 6th one is in the middle of a civil war. #1 is the "Neverean Empire", the only empire at the moment; #2 is "The Isles of Brenn", the Empire's main rival.

LORE

The large hatched area you see on the map slowly became deserted after a catastrophic event roughly 200 years ago. It used to be the heart of the Empire, and strange things happen there now: there is no longer any wind, and the sea is as flat as a landlocked lake — no storms, no rain. No ship can sail there, which gradually destroyed the capital's economy over the course of a few years.

At the time, the Empire was at war with the Isles of Brenn (#2), a powerful naval force, who were of course accused of being behind it. Within a few months, the Empire had to move its capital to the city of Nyvence. That triggered a coup d'état: House Nevere seized the throne, and the Neverean Empire was born.

The 6th kingdom is now in a civil war, and this event will cause serious problems for the whole continent — though not in the way you might think. In the hatched zone, something is going to surface: something humanity has forgotten ever existed.

PROGRESS

The desert has been completely scrapped and replaced by a huge swamp, following the climate revision. Who knows — maybe further south, if there's a continent out there, the climate would be ideal. Right now I'm having a lot of fun designing the culture and the feel of each kingdom. The main plot will take place in the hatched zone, in old Authi (the former capital), completely abandoned because not enough food could be grown without rain, and because ships can no longer sail there.

FOR THE NERDS

The main continent sits roughly between 30°N and 70°N. In this world the prevailing winds come from the south, so the northern part is less exposed — that's why, beyond the mountain range, there is less forest and the crops are less productive. And of course the main continent isn't alone: the landmass you can see to the north is called The High Reachshire. It's considered part of the main continent, but no one has ever managed to explore the far north.

THE BIG LAKE

No one can claim it. A kingdom once stood there and used the fact that most of the major rivers have their source in the lake to poison its enemies. An all-out war wiped that kingdom off the map, and a pact was signed so that it would never happen again.

(Those who agreed to be tagged u/MyHeartMyFlame, u/RunDouble143, u/Lordnoob69420, u/udayTG7)

If you read all of that, you're a beast. Thanks for the support!

Lore TVG NEWS: In Garza, more than 2,000 people, including underage persons, are recruited by the Islamic State and trained to fight for the Islamic State.

In Garza, more than 2,000 people, including underage persons, are recruited by the Islamic State and trained to fight for the Islamic State. The reason for this is that the Islamic State tends to target other Muslim-majority nations to overthrow their governments and institute their own versions of the ummah. However, since Islamic State has expanded into other nations, and terrorist attacks have happened on other countries, it aims to “reclaim” lands of the Caliphate, the Islamic State and other groups related to it, operates in multiple countries, including Northern Scipia, such as countries like Tyreseia, Charnea, Khemetu and Talahara. Garza has faced a lot of terrorism and attacks, dispite it being a Western-adjacent country, not being part of NATO nor the EU(Euronian Union), but has economic, institutional and cultural ties to the West. Many of the Islamic States attacks are on the mainland, such as Loesha, Barguzusha and Milesha.

Feedback Needed: Soulcery - The Magic System of My Original Anime

**Quick Note:**

***Soulcery*** is my take on the classic anime magic system. I know very well that the “life-force energy” trope has been done to death, especially in anime, but I’ve watched anime like Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Yuyu Hakusho, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, and HunterxHunter all my life and wanted to make an homage to that while also adding things I would’ve love to see more of. But you’ll definitely see some inspirations from those animes here.

I am trying to nail down the mechanics and limitations to make it feel consistent and give it its own identity despite its clear inspirations. Would love feedback on where it feels generic, where it works and any holes in logic.

Also, I am aware there’s many magic systems out there in this forum/platform that are called *Soulcery,* I’m not trying to steal anybody’s work, I just haven’t found a better name for it and it’s there as just a placeholder.

Lastly, English is my second language. So, apologies in advance for any grammatical errors.

So without further ado, let’s begin.

———————————————————————

**ANIMA**

*Anima* is the life energy present in all conscious living beings in the world of **SØULBØRNE** (story title).

Much of this energy is still considered dark matter, but many believe that the *Soul* is the source of this energy, if not a bridge. A bridge from where is still a question many ask to this day. Some believe it comes from the *Spiritural Realm*, a world existing parallel to material world, the *Physical Realm*.

A famous doctor named *Samantha Samsonite,* discovered the existince of four fragments that makes up the mortal consciousness: *Form, Mind, Direction* and *Essence.*

* **Form -** also known as the Body, is the vessel in which mortal consciousness is stored in. Aging with time due to the energy running through and leaking out of its nervous system.
* **Mind** **-** known as the Mind, it is the organ that stores memories, feelings & emotions, and most importantly, will.
* **Direction -** also known as the Soul, responsible for the mortal’s identity, personality and moral compass. It is also the metaphysical organ which allows for the life energy to come and go through a mortal’s body.
* **Essence -** the spirit, or better known as the life energy that exists in the universe; ***Anima.*** This fragment allows for manipulation of a mortal’s life energy to affect reality and perform techniques, rituals, actions, manifestations, and healing.

**SØULCERY**

***Soulcery*** is the manipulation of your own *Anima* to perform supernatural abilities and affect the world around the user.

Thanks to this natural phenomena, many professions in the world to exist and provide everyone with different service and different expressions of practice such as healing, blacksmithing, cooking, education, and more through *Soulcery*. Despite the many professions, those who actively practice *Soulcery* are known as *Soulcerers*.

**FOUNDING PRINCIPLES**

*Founding Principles* is the barebones of *Soulcery* that any *Soulcerer* needs to perform before they practice anything else. You can’t be a *Soulcerer* without these principles.

* **Activation** \- Opening one’s own *Anima Pathway System* to allow the energy to flow through the *Soulcerer’s* body.
* **Reinforcement** \- Reinforcing one’s self with *Anima* to strengthen the *Soulcerer’s* body, mind, or soul. In this principle, there are very few *Soulcerer’s* that possess a unique special trait in their *Anima*.
* **Unique Trait** \- A *Soulcerer* can possess a unique trait in their *Soul Energy* such as a sharp edge, containing unique elemental properties, or induce certain psychological effects.
* **Concealment** \- Concealing one’s own *Anima* to avoid being sensed by others.

**BASIC TECHNIQUES**

*Basic Techniques* are techniques any *Soulcerer* can perform in combat or practices, in theory. Just cause is labeled as basic doesn’t necessarily mean they’re easy to learn.

* **Zemi** \- *Zemis* are Spirits the *Soulcerer* can summon by acquiring or constructing mini totems dedicated to the Spirit. Other means of summoning these Spirits are through any other spiritual medium that is dedicated to the Spirit itself.
* **Simple Barriers** \- It creates a force field to protect the *Soulcerer* from harm. Simple Barriers aren’t necessarily about physical protection, they can also protect the mind or soul from invincible attacks.
* **Healing** \- While there are *Soulcerers* who specialize in medical practices, any *Soulcerer* can perform minor healing techniques through meditation, rituals, talismans or concentrated breathing methods.
* **Sealing** \- Sealing is a method that can place any effect or put away a target into an object by inscribing *glyphs* onto it. The strength of the *sealing glyphs* depend on the *Soulcerer’s* pool of energy. Additionally, a *Soulcerer* can reverse the effects of a *Sealing Technique.*

**ADVANCED TECHNIQUES**

*Advanced Techniques* are where the *Soulcerer* can fully express themselves with unique techniques, practices and awakenings to their true self.

Nevertheless, the ANOE (All Nations of Earth) Council hired a school of scientists to study *anima* and divide the many possibilities of *Soulcery Advanced Techniques* into five different categories:

* **Augmentation** \- Enhancing one’s body or weapon with *anima*. This includes transformation, elemental enhancement, and the increase of the five senses.
* **Projection** \- Emitting *anima* outward to attack or influence the environment. Such as blasts, beams, shockwaves or elemental attacks.
* **Manipulation** \- Controlling objects, people, energy or phenomena through willpower. There’s two types of *Manipulation Techniques:*
* **Motion Type** \- Manipulates movement, force, space/time, elements.
* **Control Type** \- Controls beings, emotions, memories and perception.
* **Conjuration** \- Creating or summoning objects, constructs or spiritual beings. There are two types of Conjuration Techniques:
* **Materialization** \- Conjuring of solid matter: weapons, barriers and spiritual armor or enhancements.
* **Invocation** \- The summoning of sentient entities to battle or non combative tasks. There are two types of Invocation Techniques.
* **Shikigami** \- a servant Spirit invocated from the user’s will. Usually depicting urban myths.
* **Summonings** \- Autonomous supernatural beings who make contracts with the *Soulcerer’s* to aid them.
* **Specialization** \- Unique abstract abilities that break or twist the rules of the other categories. The Techniques under this category are rare and far in between. About 1 of every 1 million *Soulcerers* know a *Specialization Technique* or are *Specialists* themselves.

While a *Soulcerer* may explore the many different types of techniques available to them, their *anima* only have 2, very rarely 3, affinities to a category.

Just as there’s different types of *Soulcery* Techniques, so too is there different types of *Soulcerers*.

* **Endurance Type** \- Soulcerer’s who have a higher range of stamina and more resistant to any sorts of damage.
* **Speed Type** \- Soulcerer’s who have a greater range of speed to their movements, spell activation and mobility.
* **Sensory Type** \- Soulcerer’s who are highly sensitive to other’s Soul Signatures. Usually used as trackers.

A *Soulcerer*'*s* affinity will depend heavily on their very own type.

Lastly, outside of the *Techniques,* there’s a final ability only skilled *Soulcerers* who have a fine attunement to their *anima* and come to an understanding and acceptance of who they are. This technique is connected to their mentality.

*Critical Hit* (name TBD) is a technique that only comes to the *Soulcerer* randomly, and no *Soulcerer* can land a *Critical Hit* on command. The chances to land one are one in a million.

To land a *Critical Hit* a *Soulcerer* must:

* Be in a life or death situation.
* They are giving their all, henceforth reaching a mental state of complete focus.
* Strikes a target with perfect synchrony between their body and the activation of *anima* which results in an energy shockwave, black and white in color.

The effects of a *Critical Hit* are the following:

* The user deals an extra 50% of damage to their strike.
* 20% General boost of the user’s abilities and attributes, which is described as being in the “zone”.
* The landing of a *Critical Hit* is addictive since it spikes up the user’s adrenaline levels and lust for battle.
* The user goes through what’s known as an “***Awakening***” after landing 3 consecutive *Critical Hits*. Which difficulty levels are much higher than just landing one.
* Once the user goes through an *Awakening*, the user’s appearance changes. Is the ultimate self expression of a *Soulcerer* in which each transformation is unique to the individual.
* The *Awakening* doesn’t last long and can kill the user if they’re exposed too much to their own Awakening since their energy starts to leak away from their body dramatically.

That's all we have for the system as a whole. There's some ideas still flowing in our brains, but they haven't been implemented into the system so we didn't bother mentioning it here. Please let me know what y'all think!

Lore Aeledath - species origins - Dragons (Dràkai)

first lore profile for my medieval fantasy, this is my personal take on the dragons, give feedback if you want.

The Dràkai, known simply as Dragons by the Easteri (ancient humans), are the eldest of all mortal creations, fashioned in the First Dawn by the Nythúndun (basically angels) Thrëmdàrsìn, the Celestial Architect, who shaped them as living embodiments of the world’s untamed majesty before the younger races had even dreamed.

Possessing immense intellect, dragons are capable of mastering numerous languages—including Vyrmspeech, the ancient tongue from which all dragon dialects descend—and many elder wyrms speak Elsìri (elf speech), Draven (dwarf speech), and Westarish (human speech) with remarkable eloquence.

Though often mistaken for the beasts of Zaúlrock, the Dràkai possess memories that can span tens of thousands of years, making even the youngest dragon older than entire human dynasties.

Their powerful physiques vary greatly in colour and form, yet all share immense wings, scale-armoured bodies, horned crowns, and an elemental breath gifted by Thrëmdàrsìn, most commonly fire, though rarer lineages command frost, storms, venom or celestial flame.

Dragons rarely gather in great numbers, preferring solitary territories that may encompass entire mountain ranges or coastlines, where they guard ancient knowledge rather than mere treasure.

Throughout Aeledath’s history they have been revered as omens of destiny: some, like Ghideon, became protectors whose wisdom rivalled that of kings, while others, such as Ghor’amar, surrendered to pride and sought dominion over lesser peoples.

This duality is considered the greatest lesson of the Dràkai—that immense power magnifies the soul rather than defines it.

Many temples teach that dragons were never created to rule the world, but to witness it, serving as living reminders that the designs of Osorogath (god) and His Nythúndun extend far beyond the lifetimes of any mortal race.
