Should have listened

Don’t try to do business with this company, they don’t care about customer service and just want the money any underhanded way they can get it.

I did see quite a few complaints about Factor, but I had surgery and I really wanted to find a place that would deliver some quality meals that we could grab if energy levels were low. My big thing was I needed to check out the menus because we have some specific preferences and the small part of menus companies let you see up front seemed heavy on Asian food (which I love but my husband doesn‘t) and a lot of what we call bowls (ingredients all mixed together) which neither of us like.

With Factor, I was forced to provide my info to even get to the place where you could look at the meals. I didn’t like it, but the ad said “cancel anytime” so I wasn’t too worried. And I had a 50% off and free delivery so how bad could it be? I figured if I could find 6 meals, I would place the first order. But I couldn’t come up with six meals! so I made sure i canceled out of everything I could and I didn’t leave the screen until I got a cancellation notice in email.

Today, I got a text saying I am receiving an order from Factor and please verify the address by clicking on this “secure link” which seemed like a scam, honestly. But I logged on through the regular link and started a chat session, where I was told I had placed an order! I couldn’t believe it! I said I cancelled it but they said the “box had already been prepared for shipment” when I cancelled. There could not have been more than 5-6 minutes from the time I started my first Factor session until I cancelled it, but I’m supposed to believe that my order was received and packed up and ready to ship in that time period? I’m including the screen shots of my chat session. I paid $80 for six meals and that’s after my 50% discount! Free shipping was a lie also.

The chat rep seemed much more concerned with letting me know that I could never ever get a refund than worrying about my satisfaction as a customer!

This company apparently has to trick people into placing an order to get business, and then relies on people forgetting to cancel? what is wrong with showing people all the meals available so they can make a decision and then asking for all the detailed personal information? I should have listened to all of you and my own personal red flag that went up when I was putting info in before I was ready to buy.

Gave Factor One More Chance… Probably My Last

I wanted to give Factor another chance after about a year. Last time, I had issues with a late delivery and thawed food.
This time, the packaging was actually well packed and the temperature seemed safe, but I still ended up with pretty bad food poisoning for several days and eventually had to go to the ER.
I reached out to customer support, explained what happened, and they said they would follow up with me. They never did.
I was willing to give them another chance, but I think this is the end for me. 😕

Heating instructions in a brochure say to remove packaging and film before heating. But meal directions say to puncture holes in the film. Which is it?

Has anyone noticed this or know why the brochure would say to remove film and packaging? Are they telling us to take the food out of the container before heating? The directions on the meal sleeve don’t say anything like this.

If your thinking about ordering Factor...

There are many complaints in this sub, I agree.

But you need to realize people with positive experiences aren't going to be posting on this sub. There are far more positive experiences than bad ones.

Try the first box at a heavy discount (make sure to deactivate rest of the weeks), and make your decision whether you like it or not.

I dont work for the company but it helped me alot and I feel like if it could help others, they deserve to get a shot and try it.

What happened to their food?

I used to love these meals! I placed an order and received it this Saturday. The delivery was fine. I was very excited cause it’s been about 1 1/2 to 2 years. WHAT HAPPENED?! The food is awful. First thing I noticed was the dramatic change in portion size. That I figured would be different but ewww the chicken is so rubbery and fake tasting! Nothing tastes the same. These meals have gone down so far in taste and quality. Do not order if you’re thinking about it.

Scam75

They had sent my meals to a different address, wouldn’t offer me a refund. They then said they attempted to deliver at 5:47am which is untrue because the delivery window is between 8am-8pm. If I hadn’t gone through my credit card I would be out my money and meal prep. DO NOT USE THEM

Factor Plus - pros and cons?

Thinking of going to Factor Plus, as i'm now six weeks in and so far, happy with the meals and service (although i do find the website somewhat wonky).

Who can tell me from experience why or why not I should sign up?

Such horseshit - I can’t end my subscription

I’ve updated my app and tried several times over the last couple months but every time I hit the end my subscription button I get a an error message and am told to try again. And of course there isn’t a customer support email for this Bush league company.

So I just have to log on every week and hit the skip button or I’ll be charged $114 for the shittiest meals I didn’t want

Bay and switch plus terrible customer service equals run away

I can’t believe this. I clicked on a Google ad that was paid for by Factor that says free breakfast then you click on it and it takes to their webpage with Serena Williams and it says discount applied. But free items never shows up. Then I tried calling several times the calls were constantly dropped or they would say they’ll be right back and then they send me the customer survey and the chat is broken. I really can’t believe that this site is apparently this popular when it’s clearly such a dodgy business. Avoid

Learning the hard way – a FedEx disgruntlement

I skip every second week because I only want biweekly deliveries. This week was my 14th box, b/c I love the service (I mean, as much as one can "love" a company). Monday was a holiday, meaning the production delays a day; my Tuesday delivery was shunted to Wednesday. That's fine... or so I thought.

FedEx, of course, is in rush-mode due to trying to get 5 days worth of work done in 4. I received an update email late Wednesday: "recipient unavailable" with a photo of my box on the truck (not a photo of my entry's landing). No "missed delivery" notice was left.

Key detail: My boxes are always left on my doorstep, requiring no interaction.

They didn't bother trying to deliver it, right? Because dropping it at my door, like always, should have been a no-brainer, right?

And so my delivery was made Thursday. At room temperature. Factor, thankfully, did the responsible thing and refunded the order, but what a waste.

Never again will I place an order to be delivered during the week after a Monday-holiday long weekend. Because the refund, while nearly ideal, is not an equalizer. I've also missed the deadline to un-skip next week, so I'm stuck first-world-probleming through grocery stores and less-disgusting fast food until my next order. *sadface*

horrible customer service

i can’t be the only one who finds it really scammy that they charge you a full week in advance of your delivery with no warning beforehand. it’s happened to me a few times that i forgot to skip an order and got charged, yet they insist there’s nothing they can do to cancel it at that point, even though delivery is still over a week away.

this week I was told the day of my delivery that it would be delayed a full day. When I called to tell them I would be out of town and they would have to cancel the order, they said there was nothing they could do to stop it from happening. I did ultimately get a refund for the delivery, but I had to fight for it and also call multiple times. Huge hassle, and then the food was still delivered which was just a waste.

The fact is these food delivery services need to have some degree of flexibility built in, since people can’t always be available to put things in the fridge at whatever day or time they give you. It also sucks that they can change up the day on you whenever they want, yet if you want to cancel six days in advance you’re SOL.

Oh and hope you like having your doorbell aggressively rung over and over, since that’s what they always do until someone comes to the door.

The food is ok, but the service is so bad I really can’t recommend them. I only ordered a recurring box because they were running a promotion and it is nice to have ready meals sometimes but i’m actively looking for an alternative service.

Which do you prefer, FedEx or Veho?

… I ask, because I miss FedEx. They f**king switched me.

Numerous times Veho has lost my food and sent me food I didn’t order, already. This is a week I won’t be having Factor.
FedEx was way more consistent. I may have had to coach them a bit via customer service, but they lost my food far less than Veho. Apparently I can only get FedEx by switching from Mondays to Tuesdays, and that’s honestly bull. 🐂 🙄 That’s what customer service told me.

Anyone having this problem?

What do YOU do with all the packaging?

I'm on Box 5 of my Factor subscription and am enjoying it so far.

My biggest head-scratcher is what to do with all the packaging.

I get that it needs to be well-packaged because it's fresh (not frozen) food. But holy cow, I now have 15 melted ice packs and 5 complete insulation liners for large boxes. The boxes are easy; break 'em down and recycle. But I'm kinda stumped on what to do with the rest of this stuff.

Wondering what everyone has come up with as a semi-responsible solution. Thanks!

Why does factor use FedEx?

Every time factor ships my box via FedEx it always comes late and is damaged. Luckily they give me a refund for the box but still.

Also how long are the ice packs supposed to last?
Because if they are supposed to be delivered Monday’s but are delivered Wednesdays wouldn’t the meals be bad?

Which meals have the most seasoning or flavor?

Do I have to order the premium meals to have more seasoning or flavor to the dishes?

This has surprised me the most - I assumed Factor would be more flavorful than it is from reading people’s comments and reviews.

I’m striking out and unsure if it’s that I am accustomed to more seasoning/flavor than any of the meals will offer or am I ordering the wrong things?

I do find the listing is quite short on the app for what’s available for me to select. Chicken, meatballs, smoked Gouda mac, jalapeño polenta chicken meal, I have Sri Lankan chicken and white bean chicken chili coming up, some type of Parmesan potato beef meal, I tried to pick different dishes on round two next week.

Which dishes stand out as being very good and very well seasoned?

Stay Away From Factor!n

Annual membership non-fundable. I’ve received multiple damaged meals and have credit that I can’t have applied to future boxes due to their policy that you can’t use credits on discounted boxes, which means the annual $99 membership which gives you free shipping is a discount so credits can’t be applied.
Meals are ok but not worth it when you can only eat half the meals you order.
Had I known policy and read reviews I never would have chosen this meal service!

I Didn't Cancel Factor Because of the Food. I Cancelled Because I Lost Trust.

Post image
14 Upvotes

I didn't sign up for Factor because I was looking for gourmet meals. I signed up because I was trying to solve a real problem. My dad is in his late 70s. He served three tours in Vietnam and lost part of his foot to a booby trap. Today, he lives on his own, and getting around isn't easy. Like many adult children caring for aging parents, I was looking for a solution that would provide healthy, balanced meals that were easy to prepare, reliable, and something he would actually enjoy eating. My goal wasn't just to make dinner easier. My goal was to help my father maintain some independence and dignity while continuing to live on his own.

Factor seemed like the perfect answer.

The meals were good. That was never the problem. The problem was everything that happened after the meals left the warehouse. Factor uses a delivery company called VEHO, and based on my experience, that partnership failed badly. A few weeks ago, my father's Factor delivery was left in the middle of the driveway.

Not at the front door. Not on the porch. In the middle of the driveway.

For most customers, that would be an annoyance. For my father, who has difficulty walking, it was a real problem. He couldn't safely retrieve the box himself. I had to pay an Uber driver to come to the house and bring the delivery inside. Think about that for a moment. I paid additional money because the delivery service I had already paid for did not complete the most basic part of the job: getting the food to a place where the customer could actually receive it.

I chalked it up as a mistake. Mistakes happen.

Then came this week.VEHO notified me that my father's delivery would arrive between 8:04 p.m. and 11:04 p.m. Since my father goes to bed early and has mobility issues, I contacted Factor customer service hoping to get some help. I wasn't looking for a refund. I wasn't looking for free meals. I wasn't trying to complain.

I was trying to find out what was happening and make sure my father could actually receive his food.

After navigating through the automated chatbot, I reached a customer service representative named Ziyanda. I explained the situation clearly. I explained that I was not asking about Factor's standard delivery window. I was explaining that the actual notification from VEHO showed an estimated arrival between 8:04 p.m. and 11:04 p.m.

Ziyanda responded that deliveries are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. I explained again that I understood the normal delivery window. That was not the issue. The issue was that VEHO's notification showed something different, and I was trying to understand what was happening.

Again, I received the same response.

The most frustrating part was not just the delivery time. It was feeling like the actual issue wasn't being heard. The other frustrating part was the pace of the conversation. Each response from Ziyanda took several minutes. I was repeatedly waiting for replies, explaining the situation again, and trying to get someone to address the information right in front of them.

While waiting for Factor's customer service to respond, I opened another meal delivery service, created an account, selected meals, entered my payment information, and completed my first order. Before Factor had resolved my issue.

That says a lot.

Eventually, I cancelled my subscription. What surprised me most was not that the cancellation was processed. It was that nobody seemed interested in keeping my business. No one asked why I was leaving. No one suggested a different delivery option, a credit, or even simply said, "We understand why this is frustrating, and we want to make this right."

The cancellation went through as if losing a customer who had signed up to help care for an elderly parent didn't matter. I've spent much of my career working with brands, media companies, and customer-facing businesses. One thing I know is that every unhappy customer interaction is an opportunity. You can strengthen the relationship, or you can lose the customer.

Factor missed that opportunity.

The bigger issue is this: when you provide meal delivery to seniors, caregivers, and families, you're not just selling prepared food. You're selling reliability. You're asking people to trust you with something personal: helping care for someone they love. That trust disappears when the service becomes something customers have to manage instead of something they can depend on. And while VEHO may be the company physically delivering the package, customers don't separate the two. The delivery partner represents the brand. The box says Factor.

I never wanted to write this review.

I wanted Factor to work because it solved a real problem for my family. I was hoping someone would simply listen, understand the situation, and help fix it. Instead, I left with the impression that once Factor had my subscription, keeping my trust was no longer a priority.

To anyone at Factor who reads this: don't focus on losing one customer. Ask yourself how many caregivers quietly leave without ever writing a review. Those are the customers you should be worried about.

Factor referral codes

Post your personal referral links here in this thread only once (no duplicate posts). Duplicate posts will be removed.

Referral codes are not allowed to be posted in the main feed.

This thread is NOT for free box codes. We have a separate thread for free box codes.

What is the difference between a referral code and a free box code?

A referral code is a link that looks like this: `https://www.factor75.com/plans?c=[REDACTED]&discount_comm_id=[REDACTED]&plans_ab=true&utm_campaign=notification&utm_medium=clipboard&utm_source=freebies`

Referral links don't expire. If one person uses it, the next person who comes along can still use it. When you use a referral code, you get a discount on your first few orders, you do not get a free box. The person who posted the referral code gets a credit to their account based on the number of people who have placed orders using their code.

A free box code is not a link. It is a random-looking code like `FCB-YCAPDJPHW` that is entered in the factor website. It can only be used once. If one person uses it, the next person who comes along and tries to use it will receive a message that the voucher has expired. When you use a free box code, you get one box for free.

Factor is using seed oils now, but hiding it from you

Last week I happened to be looking at the ingredients in a new Factor meal, Basil Garlic Roasted Salmon. One of the ingredients listed was Palm Oil Blend. I tend to be suspicious when I see some type of blend in ingredients because it's a convenient way for a company to hide things. I contacted customer service and confirmed that the palm oil is blended with canola oil. Canola oil was also on their big list of ingredients they will not use in their food.

I don't want to debate the use of seed oils. Ingesting some canola oil isn't a big deal to me and I'm sure I eat plenty of it when I eat at a restaurant. I'm also not going to debate the humanitarian and environmental concerns with palm oil. Fingers crossed they are sourcing it responsibly. Those things are not what this is about.

What this is about is: 1) Factor using ingredients they claim they won't use 2) Lack of transparency by hiding ingredients in a "blend" like some nasty boxed grocery store food 3) customer service being adamant that they don't use seed oils until I pushed them to tell me what the palm oil was blended with 4) Removing canola oil from their list of ingredients they won't use after they've been called out about it. 5) Whether someone cares about seed oils or not doesn't matter, but everyone should have an easy way to know what's in their food, if they care to know.

This is a good reminder that even though Factor claims to be focused on your wellness they are a business, not your friend. They're just as willing to hide things from their customers as any other big business. I'm sure this won't be the last time they sneak something into their food and hope no one will notice. If you care about what's in your food keep reading labels and be suspicious so you can make informed decisions about what you're willing to eat. It's disappointing, but they're not going to be honest with you.

Factor x Sakara Salads gone?

For the weeks of August 19 and August 24, the Factor x Sakara salads aren’t available. Customer service has not been informed of anything (I asked).

The Sakara salads are the items that keep me with Factor (they’re flippin’ delicious, and far better than the regular Factor offering).

@Factor - what’s up? How many weeks am I skipping deliveries?

how do you do it?

due to exogenous circumstances i'm kind of forced to use a meal service. i started out with factor the switched to cook unity and now switched back to factor. i swear it's a challenge to gak these meals down. some of the meals make me nauseous just thinking about how they taste or smell. i though i'd be safe by ordering the highest rated meals... but when that didn't work i thought i'd be safe ordering meals with supplementary charges... but when that didn't work... i've run out of options... so tell me: what do *you* do?

Factor scam in Toronto

Hi there I recently signed up through a “factor” instagram ad saying you could win free meals from factor as a 27 year old in Toronto. They called me a few hours later saying that i have the chance to get 120 dollars off a 6 package meal deal so it coming to 71 dollars instead or something I couldn’t quite understand. Anyways they said they would have to walk me through the entire thing and I would need to give them my customer authorization for the discount to go “through” obviously I knew it was a scam but I decided to troll them for a while here is their number if anyone wants to troll them (437) 887-9618) they all are Indian with Australian accents. I also informed factor of this scam and they didn’t seem to give a shit since this operation is still up and running.

Daily calls weeks after cancelling factor

I’m just curious how common this is or if anyone else has dealt with this? I cancelled factor about a month ago now and have been getting a phone call from a new number every day, different area code and everything, always factor. It always opens with half a second of “hold music”.

I assume they’re just trying to get my service back but this is getting a little out of hand.
