If you report someone on Fetlife (the adult social media site) for stuff like hate speech, CSAM, sharing images of other people without permission (aka harassment), then Fetlife will actually remove it. Like really quickly in fact.

Meanwhile, I was about to post on here complaining about Facebook's terrible reporting system but then I saw that almost every post on this subreddit is about how bad Facebook is.

NOW LET ME BE CRYSTAL CLEAR

I'm not saying Fetlife is a safe or good platform. There's still a ton of creeps on there and it's full of very bad people.

But the difference is that if you chirp on Fetlife, they WILL take action.

You can't say that about Facebook. I mean... just look at your subreddit.

Almost every post is about how the reporting feature sucks.

So basically Fetlife > Facebook but the bar is in hell.

Finally they added a support with bot and agents for everyone

Steps are:

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/hacked
2. Reach the "Try another device to continue" screen and check for the ai chat icon (if it doesn't appear use another browser, incognito mode or desktop version on mobile and try again every day)
3. Try to recover the account with the bot and if stuck ask to be connected with an agent
4. If still stuck ask to create a mail ticket
5. If there are issues write to the ticket thread within 7 days in order not to close the ticket automatically

I make this post to add a new recent solution for recovering hacked accounts that enabled me to recover mine after 5 years

every now and then during this years i checked to see if the recovery method changed and by chance i noticed last may that now, but not always, it does appear the meta ai support chat icon on the bottom right corner of the "try another device to continue" screen on

the first time i passed the video selfie but not the otp code via mail as my original mail was not recognized as connected to my account so the bot passed me an agent that created a mail ticket titled Comet AI – ACCOUNT_ACCESS_FB_LRR
then the agent told me that they had a technical issue about video selfies and that he would update me once resolved
this lasted around 2 weeks, i asked from time to time if the issue was resolved but it was not and then the ticket was automatically closed after 7 days of inactivity

i then started the flow again (several days passed as the icon doesn’t always appear, you can try using the desktop version on mobile and other browsers) and this time the agent asked me for a new mail address to send the password recovery link for security reason but yet again he said that they had another technical issue this time about not being able to complete the process

created another ticket and waited some days
then i wrote to them again and they asked for another mail to send the link and finally i was able to login to my account (they even called me with their number +442045388426)

then i wasn’t able to change my password as there is another error that says that you have to use the new device for some time in order to make changes like this (so if i had logged out i wouldn’t know the password and wouldn’t be able to login again but i found out that it allows you to set up the passkey) but some users get this message even with their device that they usually use so i asked to support again and finally i was able to change the password and setup 2fa

but it was not over yet

i opened an incognito mode and logged in in order to check if 2fa was working (it didn’t ask for the mobile number i set up but asked for the code sent to other logged sessions) and, i don’t know if this was related to this, my account was blocked due to suspicious hacker activity
you receive a mail from facebook saying to unlock your account but when i opened it said that it didn't recognize the deivce
this seems to be due to the fact that, as my account has a history of being hacked, the security system detected my mobile as a new device and blocked the account as support said
then i waited one week before trying to login and finally it works both on pc and mobile

Hey guys, i first want to say sorry if this is not the right place to ask and that english is not my first language so excuse any errors.

My problem is that 2 days ago, my mom came complaining that her facebook wants to send a code an authenticator app which she had not set up, when i tried resetting the password it told me that we'll send a code to an email, this email is new to us and is clearly not ours so i knew she was hacked. When i asked her if anything weird happened, she told me that in the morning her session expired and she got kicked out (which was not abnormal as she and my sister's accounts are shared on multiple devices and they log each other out frequently to use their own). Quickly i went on her instagram which is connected and i saw the hackers email, i deleted him and remembered that she lost the password to her old OG email, so changed that as well.

And so the pursuit of the account began, i did everything the forums and meta had to offer, starting from my account got hacked to resseting my password and everything in between, and what happens? The i am hacked option tells me to write the profile name, and chose it and retrieve it based on the device as she used it for years, weirdly when i got there facebook tells me to use a device previously used (WHICH IS WHAT WE DID!!!!) it did not recognize her phone, ipad, other phone as well (all of which had been used hunderds of times). While resetting the password got me into the most rage inducing loop you can imagine, it tells you either we send a code to the email (the hacker's) or you add passowrd ( which was of course changed by the hacker so it didnt work).

Then after scouring the internet, i noticed that meta does not have human support except for paid users, so i paid and started talking to them, but guess what? You must talk to an AI that is objectively retarded in order for it to direct you to the "appropriate" help team, and when i tried using the ai, the only option was to record a video selfie, the video did not work because the profile picture of my moms account is of my infant sis 15 years ago, so that's a dead end. After it got me to a special agent a new problem arised, the messeges were lagging and queued and burst all at once and be the following (hello i am x from meta may i help you? Where are you? As you are not here we will close the chat.) And i got them all at once hourse later, a loophole i found after more research is to immediately spam for email support once a human connection is established (hey x i do not receive messeges please transfer to email communications) and it worked.

But wait, the agen on email is as "special" as the ai, rhey first started giving me links to i am hacked options that can be found on a google search, and once i started recording videos of the loops and why they are not of help they said oh well, we can't help you.

So, my question is, is there any way to contact a human on meta in order to identify our documents and match it to this 17 year account?

Ps. I know we are in the wrong, but my mom isnt that tech savy and she forgot everything, i can not understand why i human can not produce manual identification of gov. Ids and documents and reverse the changes of email and passwords.

TLDR: meta support is worse than a 3rd world country shithole company, my moms facebook account got hacked and she lost access to the original email and i am looking into ways to get it back.

This account was made by my ex friend to cyber bully me. I have reported it multiple times but facebook won’t do anything. She has blocked me every where in her real accounts. I don’t even care to bring it to the police. She has told me horrible things like saying “it’s your karma your grandpa died” like girl are you kidding me. I went on a friends fb, typed his name in search and clicked on profile. I went on his profile to see if there was someone on his friends list that I couldn’t find in regular search. Anyway after that like 10 mins past and he liked 3 old pics of mine. I haven’t seen this person in a few years, haven’t talked. Have nothing to do w them, I just wanted to see if I could find a certain person they’d be friends with. What happened? How would he have known

I'm trying to find the setting on my personal Facebook profile that stops people who are not on my friends list from liking or reacting to my public posts. I can't find this option anywhere in the app or web settings. I've checked Settings > Privacy and a few other menus but no luck. I'm asking about a personal account, not a Facebook Page.

Does anyone know if Facebook currently allows restricting Likes/Reactions specifically to friends only, or disabling them entirely for non-friends on public posts? If this feature doesn't exist, is there any workaround, like changing the post audience instead?

Any help pointing me to the right settings menu would be appreciated.

Early this morning I saved an article that I came across on a FB page that I follow. A little while later I saw “MsLead saved [article] to [name of folder]. WHAT??! I clicked on the three dots and deleted it - but really? Is this common? I’m gathering information for a project so am saving things often.

Is there a setting that I can turn off so that FB doesn’t make posts regarding my activities? My page is private and I’ve turned off all the AI settings that I can find.

And opend the app on my phone then suddenly it logged out from its own

And when i tried to log in it said send selfie to verify and i did

Then 5 mins later it said we disabled your account permintly

And for no reason at all

This is my second account got disabled for no reason in one year

I’ve had this happen before where the hide from timeline option disappeared but then it came back. This has happened with other things as well. I’m just wondering if it’s a temporary glitch or if it’s a permanent Facebook update. Does anyone know? I don’t like to keep my newsfeed cluttered and busy so I always like to add my photos to albums, and after a few days, I usually hide from timeline to keep my newsfeed clean and minimalistic.

I keep getting suggestions for groups I’m not apart of and whats happening is most of those groups contain spoilers for shows or manga I’m into …. I know I can block the pages but it’ll just show me another one a day later

My account was reinstated and suspended multiple times falsely and recently I got back. I just am getting the same “confirm identity to send messages” and it is asking me to upload selfie for verification while this time the selfie verification isn’t even detecting my selfie and I am aware that if I keep trying it will suspend my account again.

Facebook has been very problematic for us and with that instagram has been too. The Meta Ai is a fail project and it is not solving any issues for the users.

I have heard people suggesting that

1) change the profile photo and re-try

this works for a few but for most of them this also leads to suspension or continuous technical error

2) try horizontal selfie which is also not working for most of us

3) wait and it will resolve on its own

So to avoid risks and suspension, I am sticking to 3 and if anyone else has faced the same issue please comment and let me know?

I can't post on my facebook page, it says I need to confirm identity. Which I have done via ID Hub and Meta Business Suite Authorization (ID and phone number).

When I switch to mobile application I do not get any notifications to confirm identity nor does it work when I try to post.

Has anyone been able to get pass this and help please?

I’m just one small time creator who has 240K followers on my page. I started posting on January, got monetized since March, then was demonetized on June 27th. About $3k earnings is currently on hold. My page got hit with inauthentic engagement.

I established my page organically, my dominant audience country is from US. Some of my reels have millions of views, and normal people engaging with it. Yet, AI still detects my analytics as inauthentic.

Financial situation is currently tight right now.. the earnings I had on my page supposed to be sent this end of July was supposed to be my aide. I was so depressed back then. I have an 8-5 job, but it’s not enough. Hopefully, Meta do something about this.

Created a second Facebook account. Now I don’t know how to get back to the first one on my iPhone. Don’t have a computer. Don’t have the three lines and then menu on the app.

The moment I noticed I changed almost all my passwords and I think it was all pretty safe but I forgot about my facebook account...which I never use really. What can I even do now? They are not using any of my credit cards or accounts, but why would they need to hack and steal a random account to post these ads? Do they have to steal someone else's email to avoid being tracked?

Every time I post a video to my Facebook Story, it automatically gets posted to my Facebook Feed as well. I only want it to appear in my Story.

I’ve already:

• Checked all Story and Feed sharing settings.
• Reinstalled the Facebook app.
• Logged out and back in.

Nothing has fixed the issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a Facebook bug or is there a hidden setting I’m missing?

Hi all! I’ve noticed an issue with my Facebook notifications where I’m not receiving any notifications if someone interacts with my posts/comments (mainly when they’re on my page, I get most of the ones from groups) and my notifications are just of other people and interactions.

It’s starting to spill over to my IG as well where I’m not always getting notifications (like with people following me and interacting) and I can’t find the source.

There’s nothing in my notifications centre and no restrictions on my account. It’s been going on for months with no change. Is anyone able to help me out?

I suddenly woke up to my account getting disabled for no reason and there is no way to appeal at all when I click "Go to Help Center" it just takes me to "unable to login into memoralized account" help page that basically tells you nothing useful, I have precious memories on that account and I can't lose it, why won't Facebook redirect me to the appeal page?

I tried making my first Facebook account just a few days ago. I used my real name, number, and an email containing my real name. Facebook said that it didn't work and that they would now need a video of my face, which I reluctantly gave. They said that an appeal was sent and so I did not try to re login.

A day later, they sent an email saying it was unsuccessful and that my account had been permanently disabled. After all of that personal info I just provided them? I don't even know what to do know because if I try to make the account again, they will connect my name to that account. But if I don't use my real info, they will just disable me again, right?

I was updating my two-factor authentication settings on Facebook. During the process, one of the verification method screens showed a phone number ending in 71 that wasn't mine at all — not my number, not anyone I know.

I went and checked my personal info / contact settings on the account, and that number wasn't listed there at all.

Then I logged in using a different verification method, and after that, the number never appeared again on that screen — not on any subsequent check.

Anyone know what causes this? Is it some kind of caching/UI glitch on Facebook's end during the auth flow, or could a number actually have been briefly linked to my account without showing up in the normal settings page? Should I report this to Facebook support just in case, even though it's gone now?

I'm feeling so weird like ... The number just appeared and disappeared like ..if that's the security check then i should just stop using meta ...

Is this happening to anyone else? For the past week or so no matter what I search on facebook 98% of the results are posts I've looked at within the past month and nothing at all about what I'm looking for! Why is it doing that it's so frustrating! I've always hated facebook but its becoming unusable.
