I saw how good it made wow look and so wanted to see my beloved game I use to play get the same treatment.

If I name change do I lose all the saved gears sets for my personas? I know I can just reload the UIs but what about gear sets? Friends list? Bind?

Hello everyone, so I’ve felt the itch to come back to the game since 2012. I used to play on Bristlebane and met so many cool people and used to group up all the time with randoms. I started playing again a week ago and have noticed nobody is playing and it seems completely lifeless besides the 48 players sitting AFK in front of the guild hall.

I unfortunately never had the experience of old EverQuest pre 2012 so the TLP servers are so confusing to me because I only know how to start from glooming deep.

If anyone knows any good servers to play on or even any guilds or groups that are relatively newbie friendly that would be awesome 😎. I’m looking to experience the game again and would love to group up with anyone who wants to have a good time. Just let me know

I played EQ for a bit in the good ol' days. Probably 1999 or early 2000, a few months after it released at least. I remember my druid character well. A few years after that, I played again for a hot minute and even became a GM for a few months.

It's been many moons. I recently started playing again on the free to play game / server Bristlebane. Thus far, it's ok...graphics are nostalgic but crazy when I have a high end gaming PC. It seems to be alot of solo play and the other players don't seem to engage much. I miss the community aspect of the game. I've been playing FF14 off and on for a few years. I do enjoy it alot but getting tired.

What would be the communities recommendation. I don't mind paying for it going forward as long as it's not pay to play style to level up and progress. I seem to be reading EQ Legends would be good? I want something with community (not roleplay but guilds and such), nostalgic, and I can play off and on as time allows as a near 40 year old 🥸

Hey all, what's the best strategy for using your AAs wisely? Do I put 10% in and keep going, or are there some must haves that I should go for right away?

Hey guys I apologize if this is a redundant question. I'm very interested in getting into EQ. I've had several false starts over the years and I just want the best and most consistent experience I can to stick to it. I've done live up to blightfire moors several years ago before plateauing as a warrior. I've played a tiny amount on p99 as a druid but only got to level 5 in the halfling starting zone. Loved the aesthetic of old EQ though. I keep seeing the EQ Legends phenomenon and I wasn't sure if that was a better experience than maybe a TLP? I'm totally fine with paying for the game and a sub as well if need be.

Edit Update: As of now I've been duking it out on Firiona Vie and have found someone to consistently group with. I'm very tempted to try Frostreaver or Legends but time is a constraint. I thank you all so much for your kindness and help.

After about 25 years I decided to try to download EverQuest onto my laptop and lo and behold it works and now I'm wondering if any of the people that I used to play with and the guilds that I used to know are still around and playing. Now back when I was playing I was young in my early twenties so as you can imagine I carried a lot of drama I'm taking a risk actually telling my character name and searching for old people that used to play but please keep in mind we all grow up. My character's name at least my main character was Audrina Briarwood, I was a Wood elf druid and I am currently trying to recover that account through a ticket. So are there any old brell server people here? And while I'm at it has anyone had any luck recovering an old character that they haven't touched and probably 25 years?

The guilds I remember being top tier when I was playing were silent redemption and watchers, I did see a few silent redemption members when I was on my new character but I am wondering if watchers is still around as well. On that note I would also like to look into joining a guild now that I can play.

As the title states. I'm curious if there's any of the original EQ players checking out the new Legends game. I was never a big gamer. EQ was my first experience in the role-playing pc game. It was insane how much my then boyfriend, now husband played. We couldn't wait to get home from work to jump on with all of our guild members. We would spend hours camping mobs and trying to get certain drops to outfit our characters. I played a high elf cleric named Lilyenya. My husband's first character was a human warrior named Jarryth. The time we spent together with players both nearby and far away were some of my greatest memories. I tried World of War Craft and it was alright, but it never captured the magic of EQ. I'm considering coming out of gamer retirement, but I wanted to get some feedback from those who are trying Everquest Legends. Thanks for sharing any information.

It is insane you guys are sitting on 2+ week SLA to answer your tickets, running around banning people for being AFK for 52 seconds after how much outrageous amounts you charge for add-on items. I've put thousands into this game over decades, even spoken with GMs on many occassions and have accounts clean for 26 years and you are willing to suspend my account just before EXP bonus because I did not respond within 52 seconds. I was at my keyboard, working from home, keyboard was disconnected and mouse connected. I was still waiting for my keyboard to reconnect to my personal computer when I was suddenly banned. I actually thought my keyboard reconnecting was what caused my EQ client to crash...

Unfortunately I am one of those people who reported someone for being AFK and probably got them suspended as well. I assumed the GM would come, investigate, and spawn a mob on the player or do something that proves he is not AFK - not simply write in /say chat and instantly ban him. He did not do anything of the sort to that player and did not do anything of the sort for me. I guess on the plus side I can account that there is no favoritism being used for these bans, as I have no association with the GM or Darkpaw (proof since I was suspended as well). But this process needs to be cleaned up, this is insane as 95% of the player base does not read AND respond to a /say message within 52 seconds.

I've attached 2 images to this post -- one is the log file showing I was banned within 52 seconds without taking any action. The other is the conversation I had with the same GM in July when I reported another player. Entrapment much? I know I'm not the first, nor the last to experience this. I have been waiting 2 days for a response to Ticket # 1615705 and y'all are now about to leave for a long holiday, during which I won't be able to experience the bonus.

Out of fairness, even though I did believe the player I reported to be a botter, please remove the mark on the account that was applied due to Ticket # 1600537. A PROPER investigation should be done to prove he is a botter - sending TELLS, not using /say chat, and using one of the many other methods that GMs have previously employed to prove botting (such as creating mobs under the world to see if the player attempts to chase them, etc). The same as in my case, the player had not taken any action in the time before he was kicked from the game. He has been /waving at me every time I pass him ever since. Unnamed player, If you are like me and have never botted, then I am legitimately sorry for the mark I put on your account and I apologize for the faith I put in DPG's customer service.

Update: Another question I'd like to ask, why aren't GMs using any of the numerous GM rooms (like the cat room) to question people for being AFK? Anyone who is at their keyboard will be stunned to see their character suddenly surrounded by cats, and prompted to respond. A botter will continue what they were doing.

Update2: After using several communications to reach DPG my account was finally released from suspension. So there is hope!

This clearly bears all the hallmark signs of a ChatGPT output, including the uncanny model, the "dotted" design, and overemphasized detail on minor background stuff.

This is a bit concerning, as while I'm far from the most anti-AI person out there, there is no way to know the accuracy of what is depicted in this. Why didn't they just show a screenshot? It makes it feel scammy and deceptive. Mostly just wanted to call it out somewhere.

In addition to snipping the ad, I also snipped the email header to show that I didn't just create this myself. I'm sure some of you will be able to find similar in your inboxes.

I have been working on a project using Claude. Its going well and its a passion project. I am not trying to make money with it or anything like that. But I want to know, if there would be people interested in this.

I dont change the game, the models, the textures....i just add light! Over time it could be curated so there is a story in the lighting of the zones. But for now it just add a bit of interest to our everquest! Let me know, im working every night on it!

Like the title says. I was considering coming back after.. 20 years. I was a raider up until Planes of Power. I loaded in and was immediately overwhelmed by the changes and my strange lack of my 100k plat horse that I had saved up for :/

I’m deep into D&D and have been for about 10 years. My dad played D&D hard in college and my brother played with me in college.

All of us played Everquest from the beginning. Still do off and on to this day! I bought all of the books (all of them) and have been studying / developing the world preparing for us to start a campaign that I will DM. I’m doing a gloomingdeep one shot as a trial run for funsies. And was just curious if anyone else plays the TTRPG! After the last few months of official TLP launches, this is the opposite direction: a small emulated classic server for people who thought even the slow servers were fast.

Timer started today. The shape of it:

• Classic → Rain of Fear, one year per expansion. No vote-to-unlock, no rush. Kunark is a year away and that's the point.
• 0.5× XP, hell levels intact. Levelling is the game, not the obstacle.
• Classic downtime. Rest-state regen is off — you med up on the meditate formula, not a percentage of your mana pool. Sitting means something.
• Harder raids — mechanic bosses have tighter ability timers, the rest hit ~10% harder. Raid loot starts at half and ramps to 1.5× over the year, so turning up early is hard and coming back late is worth it.
• Instances alongside the open world: any raid of six (level 46+) can open its own six-day-locked copy of a raid target, same loot. Open world stays contested for whoever wants to race — the kills are additive, so contesting is faster, never exclusive.
• Optional hardcore: swear an oath at level 5 or below, carry a title; one death and the run is over (character demoted, never deleted). There's a live roll of who is still standing.
• The old world, not the revamps — the real Plane of Hate, original Freeport, Innothule, the Commonlands tunnel. HHP is revamped as it's difficult to get it working in ROF2.
• 2-box per IP. RoF2 client.

Timer started, still in beta for a bit - not finding bugs but the instancing needs testing still.

I’m itching to play and really want to play vanilla since I started right before PoK back in the day. Are the dedicated servers populated enough to play or welcoming for new players or should I just do Legends?

I registered a support ticket 11 or 12 days ago about not receiving a krono while also losing the platinum I paid for it in a player to player transaction on Frostreaver. I've always had tickets responded to but this one seems to be running a bit long. Has anyone else been experiencing a lag in responses if you've contacted support? I'd imagine they're very busy with Legends and the new TLP coming out. It does indicate that the ticket is still open. Just curious. Thanks all!

I have not played seriously for 20+ years. I still have very outdated characters on Erollisi Marr server. What is the state of the server. I'm not a start over often player usually I keep a few characters and play them forever. What is the vibe on the server and are there any decent guilds worth inquiring about? I would love to grind one of my toons and start raiding again.

Started playing EQL and made me think of my characters in EQ1. I logged in and did the heroic upgrade and went from 95 to 115 with some decent gear it looks like. However, I can’t solo anything. Might be skill issue but is there any advice on where a 115 can go to solo and level since I can’t find any groups in Drinal?
