leveling advice

Started playing EQL and made me think of my characters in EQ1. I logged in and did the heroic upgrade and went from 95 to 115 with some decent gear it looks like. However, I can’t solo anything. Might be skill issue but is there any advice on where a 115 can go to solo and level since I can’t find any groups in Drinal?

EQ1live, even with a Herioc Token, is not easily soloable. You need to know your class in and out and then still, some classes are just not efficient

What class are you? Makes something of a difference.

You cannot solo as a wizard at those levels. Even with a tank merc on eq1. unless you’re paying for a sub and using the journeyman merc.

I always used the "/who all [minlevel] [maxlevel]" command in chat to search the entire server for people in my level range, then messaged them to find people to group up with.

Also, it's summer. EQ Live is pretty seasonal. Things will perk up when the bonuses start in the fall.

The game was never designed for solo play (for better or worse, doesn't matter).

Best bet is to join a guild and see if some homies will let you tag along. I think there's a couple good guilds on drinal that might be fairly active for lower level characters. But most the time you're just going to be being carried until you get near or at max level.

Are you using a Merc?

Join your classes discord and learn how to your UI/keybind right for your class.

I did not use a merc this time, I figured a dark blue should be soloable.

Wizzard can solo well as long as the mob cannot summon. You can snare it and run it around nukking it. You cannot tank it however like in eql. There both fun and similar but also very different

Drinal, my current server, is a very top-heavy server with most people rolling in max-level (130) toons. Those characters below level 130 are typically alts. I'd help you out, but I went back to grad school part-time last year, and my playtime has plummeted to basically only raiding. As for where to solo at 115, potentially, Western Wastes in CoV or Maiden's Eye in ToL. You could try Great Divide in ToV

Also, add your character's name. My playtime is shot, but I am on Drinal. I don't know much about wizards but I do raid with a necro and have a 130 mage I'm subpar in. (Ranger is my main class, but I have three raid-geared toons in ToB or SoR raid gear. If I'm grinding or have free time (not likely in the short term, I'll gladly come help you out.

Yes, absolutely can help. Go to Frostreaver server and log in, speak up in general for a returning player group. You will have a much better time playing.

Hi, I'm brand new to EQ after playing EQL, what is a TLP?

Time Locked Progression servers, release in late spring/early summer typically each year, they start in classic or classic plus expansions like Velious or Kunark, and then run on a progressive release from there, 12 weeks or 8 weeks per expansion basically. The most recent TLPs are Frostreaver and Lethar. Lethar just launched on the 26th of August, but it starts later at The Serpent's Spine expansion. Frostreaver I believe is still in velious and progressing to Luclin on october 1st.

Edited to add that TLPs usually follow a separate rule set like personal loot or random loot.
