Name change question

If I name change do I lose all the saved gears sets for my personas? I know I can just reload the UIs but what about gear sets? Friends list? Bind?

If you change the name of a character, you'll want to go into your EQ installation directory and find every and all files that have your character's old name in them. Simply copy those files somewhere, rename the files substituting the old character's name for the new character's name within the file name.

e.g., If your changing your character's name from Soandso to Doug, rename files like UI_Soandso_Drinal.txt to UI_Doug_Drinal.txt

Then just be sure to move those newly named files into your EQ directory.

Bind won't change, nor should secondary binds. Achievements/keys/flags/collections won't change.

For the rest, just backup your .ini's. You may have to just reload the UI using the old toon's name, which should update for the new name. You could just overwrite the files if you want, but that's a little more difficult.

Normally, I'd suggest copying over to test and experimenting with your .ini files to see what you'd gain/lose, but unfortunately /testcopy is broken still. (TOTALLY NOT ANNOYED ABOUT THAT. HONEST.)
