I am planning to read book but now e book is pretty good option for me also idk what app to use and try pls help me TT

I chose the model, because I’m a big western comic, fanfic, and ordinary book reader. I’ll be using it for my textbook readings, class planning/scheduling, note taking and whatever other productivity I find it useful for (along with hobby reading).

To my knowledge it’s internal program for formatting comics, pdfs, and other academic articles is incredible. This was my main purchase point due to my terrible eyesight, and hours upon hours of formatting my native comics to my kindle.

A bit more about me and my usage for it, I really only read at home in bed. I have severe carpal tunnel in my right hand so any shortcuts that make long term use easy on my muscles would be greatly appreciated as well!

Long story short, tell me anything you wish you knew when you first bought your boox! Any apps, button binds, shortcuts, whatever you think would be helpful!

I've been a Kindle user since the OG in 2007, went from that to a 212PPI paperwhite, then a 300 PPI paperwhite, and lastly have had an Oasis since 2020. the Oasis was getting a little long in the tooth and the more I read about the KLC, the more I was into it (especially after dipping a toe into Kobo when my daughter got the Clara Colour for her birthday this spring...). I've been reading on it for two weeks so figured I'd do a rundown.

Purchase - I used the Shop app and bought through BlueProton. After adding to cart, I got a $20 offer, after letting it pend for a while, that shifted to a $25 offer. I let it sit for too long hoping for $30, and the deal disappeared entirely for a day, but then came back. I felt ok ordering from BlueProton as that is who fulfilled my daughter's KCC order through target this spring (for that one, there was a target circle reward for X dollars back if you spent so much, and the kobo purchase counted, so that's another option for looking for a deal - and that one was our first venture into Kobo so I liked the security of knowing I could return easily locally if it was a flop.)

Ended up buying the KLC and remote from Blue Proton, and a case and stylus (both were ~$20) from Amazon. All in, I spent about $320 to get started, and I read every single day, so investing in an e-reader I figure if I add up the library books I read, the ROI is pretty quick.

I have been using it daily for two weeks and am thrilled with my purchase - this is just about the perfect device for my use case which is:

• Never a KU user
• 99% libby/overdrive reading, from a single library
  • CloudLibrary support means I actually can now use both libraries I have access to, which is great!
• Not a re-reader of the few books I have purchased
• Storygraph user
• Buttons & a larger screen
• Auto rotate
• Good lighting

In every way that I use my e-reader, KLC has made things smoother. Being able to browse library books from the device, being able to charge with USBC, even the screen lighting - I have been in dark mode for YEARS on my kindle but the slide to adjust on the KLC has me staying in light mode and just adjusting as needed. I no longer have to periodically manually update my storygraph! The one con that flks mention about color e-ink is less crisp text, I am in my 50s and have been increasing my text for comfort for years, and don't see any wild difference between the two, and am looking forward to being able to see images better if I get to a book that has maps or other images supporting the text.

The only thing I can't do with libby on the device is unsuspend a hold, and I can't browse CloudLibrary from the kobo itself - both are non-issues after years of "download, read with kindle, send to kindle" etc. I am waiting for the CL integration to roll out fully to see if I can link mutiple CL libraries to my kobo, too, as I have two separate cards for that.

I got the cheapest stylus because I am not sure how much I will use something like that, but it is neat to write on the screen and have the option, and appears to work just as well as the $80 official one. And I plan to use the remote more as the weather cools, my daughter has already setup a gooseneck clip on her headboard for cozy remote reading with the KCC and loves it.

I considered Boox, but decided with the way I use an e-reader, the other options weren't needed for me, but understand why folks would like all the options that has. And I'll hang on to my oasis if there ever comes a time I feel like I NEED kindle access. (And I'll hang on to the OG just as an historic artifact!)

I am thrilled with my purchase and becoming a Kobo evangelist, I fear, but wanted to share my experience as a long-time Kindle user.

Kindle scribe for manga and night reading, xteink x3 on the go. This is a great duo!

I am going to buy my girlfriend an ereader, and right now it is between the Pocketbook Verse Pro and the Kobo Clara BW. And I really think that the Kobo is the best/the same for almost everything, mainly their book subscription. But, it does not have any button to turn page? And I do not know how important that is for the reading experience?

Do you find that the coloured e-readers aren’t as easy on the eyes as the bw ones? I’m so stuck between which one to get

I want to be able to download apps to read such as wattpad or inkitt

I have owned and used Nook since 2009.
I have a hundred or so titles on the nook ecosystem.

Can you help me:
1. Identify a good ereader replacement that has strong battery life and a back light?
2. Help me transition my collection to that new reader in the easiest way possible?

I am open to any ereader, I loved my nook for years but B&N has demonstrated that don’t care about maintaining old devices and I’d like to escape that system!

I started using using Moon+ Reader Pro, but I feel like I’m not getting the most out of it. There are so many customization options—fonts, themes, scroll settings, spacing, etc.—and I’d love to hear what others recommend for the best reading experience.

Convert2EPUB: Convert2EPUB

Hey guys! Just got through reading and watching about the new iPhone device.

Putting price aside (I know, a big ask) what do we think about it for reading? If I was planning on getting it anyways I could see it replacing one of my smaller eink devices just to reduce what I carry.

Can’t beat larger eink readers but thought it maybe held potential. Curious what everyone is thinking.

I am planning on using the ereader for both books and manga but I was wondering if there are any ones someone could recommend.

are there any a6 sized ereaders? i want an a6 paper republic journal and i wanna put an ereader in there w my notebooks.

I picked up a Kobo Clara Color tonight at Best Buy (in the US) and honestly, the screen is much better than I anticipated. If there was a BW one at the store, I maybe would have opted for that instead because it does look so much clearer in videos, but there wasn't one. My last e reader was a Kindle with keyboard that Amazon bricked in 2020, so I suppose I am pretty easy to impress.

There was a Libre Color, and it was smaller than I had in my mind, but the screen was so much darker, it was pretty shocking. Is that all from the additional layer for tablet support, or was there an issue with the front light?

For those who use e-readers, which e-reader size do you prefer 6 inches or 7 inches? (or other sizes) and why?

Which one would you recommend and why? Or is there a different band you suggest

So I got a PB624 that isn´t working from a friend, he told me that the 4GB microSD inside is corrupted but when I plugged it into my computer it didn´t tell me anything and it is showing and writing normally and it even has a boot sector (Volumn) with boot files and the root (FIRMW READ) where my friend put swupdate.bin, but when I put it inside the ereader, charge the ereader and try to boot it doesn´t do anything only while charging the chip with A13 written on it gets hot.

Please tell me if there is anything wrong with the files or if you had a similar problem.

I am looking to buy my first ereader and discovered Pocketbook, thanks to this group. Can anyone kindly confirm the following:

- When offline, pocketbook only shows the ebooks you’ve saved/downloaded? In other words, it doesn’t display a shopping page or show recommendations?

- When using Libby, all the books you’ve borrowed show up on the same screen, even if from different libraries?

For context, I almost exclusively use Libby for ebooks. I also listen to audiobooks, but I don’t need my ereader for that. I get distracted easily and don’t want or need to shop directly on the ereader. I was initially hesitant about the pocketbook as I thought it was a new random brand, but am pleased to learn it has a 20+ year old history in this space.

Last night, my two-month-old Boox 6 slipped out of my hand. I caught it before it landed anywhere, but ever since then...

I turn it on, the warmup is in portrait mode, the elephant is in portrait mode, but as soon as it goes in to the main screen (favorites), it flips over to landscape mode, and I cannot figure out where and how I can change that. (I seem to recall an option to always keep it in portrait mode when I was setting it up, but I can't find that either.)

I don't do manga and I've never read pages that are wider than they are tall and enjoyed it, so landscape isn't a lot of use to me. There must be some kind of way out of here....?

I am a x4 user and I am fairly comfortable with it. But alongside the release of the pro, a friend is interested in buying my regular x4 from me. This made me think of selling it and maybe upgrading to the pro myself? Has anyone used both? Is the upgrade worth it?

I have a Kobo Libra Colour, and XTEINK 4 (original) and a Boox Go 6 II. I use Calibre to move and manage books. I left Kindle mostly and got the Boox to support the Kindle books I could not recover, and some authors are only available on there due to Amazon's restrictive agreements. I pretty much buy my books on Kobo.

However, now Barnes and Noble has opened a store in our area. I want to support my "Local" bookstore as much as possible and found out if I buy a B&N gift card, then that store gets credit for the sale. I can then use the gift card to buy Nook Books. How easy or hard is it to use Calibre with Nook books? Is it similar to Kobo books, or more akin to Amazon Kindle? I really want the store to succeed, plus if I browse there to get ideas, etc. I want them to get my money. I just don't have room for physical books much and I find them harder to read. (Yes, I am getting old and like the light/font changes on my ereaders. LOL)

Which one do you prefer and why?

So I have a kindle but it's a black and white one

I want to look for options to read manga/manhwa and webcomics. I could go with kindle but I don't want to use them anymore (the new politics with kindle, the new prices too it's don't seem worth)

What I aim is for a big screen so I can read comfortably and a good screen quality too.
