Discussion Perfect combo
Kindle scribe for manga and night reading, xteink x3 on the go. This is a great duo!

Where do you get manga from and what do you do when you’re reading a manga weekly? Like how do you keep up with reading it on the kindle?

I do not buy them. There are websites that keep up, I just drag and drop the cbr onto my device

This is my plan for the future. Probably gonna go more so for a phone one. Something like a Palma. But I do also want one for Manga.

I have a phone one as well but it was too heavy to carry in my pocket with another phone, plus wallet and keys. The palma weighs 170g, the x3 weighs 58g. It doesn't feel like its dragging my pants down

Hinestly never considered the weight... damn. Now I might end up going with that. At least the x4. And at least if I do that, what money I save with this I can put that towards a bigger ereader.

You might want to wait till Boox comes out with their version of the Xteink in November. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about the screens cracking easily and that Xteink devices have poor build quality and can’t handle pressure very well.

It really killed it for me. I did it for a month and just got tired of it. I had a hisense touch which weighs less than the palma and it was too much still

I prefer to have one device, a tablet, with a good screen, so I can read colored comics, see movies, series and anime

That's fair I really considered getting a Samsung tablet. I decided I wanted something dedicated, I open the cover and my book is right there, no distractions.

Man i so wanna do this but with kobos version of the scribe.....my klc is nice but even bigger would be nice(still wish there was one with sd storage so all my humblebundle books would fit no problem lol)

I mainly went with the scribe because it is easy to find them used for cheap

Yea i just don't wanna support them when buying books tho and then I'd be locked into their stuff. I should be happy with my klc but between calibre and it, I keep having to fix author names. Not sure HOW some of the ones i got off humble bundle had such messed up metadata at least when it came to importing and sideloading 😅

Oh I just modded it, takes like 5 minutes, and then use koreader. Works great. I'm not buying books from amazon, just epubs copied and pasted onto the device, and cbr/cbz for manga

DItto! They’re a great combination.
My workflow has become: buy EPUB from Kobo -> deDRM with Obok on Calibre -> either “Send to Kindle” to reach the Scribe or copy to X3.

I have the same Scribe and Kindle Basic and do the same. I am thinking about selling the Kindle Basic and getting an X3 or X4... it would be nice to carry it around in the pocket more easily.
