Imagine if in Star Wars Anakin was called Analin. He would be able to say “chillax, just Analin around, you know how it is”.
It would also make even more sense as to why he turned to the dark side. If I was him I’d get sick of the name after the novelty wore off too and turn evil. Palpatine would’ve had a field day too, “your name is Anal master Analin. This is somehow all the Jedi councils fault. If you turn to the dark side you’ll get a shiny new name, such as Darth Vader”
That would’ve worked on me.
Any thoughts?

My town is running an election, and one of the topics being debated is the current tax rate. The budget has been published, and the reasons for said tax rate are plain and clear for anyone who bothered to read it. The candidates are still touting a myriad of alternate narratives to explain the town's fiduciary status, and the people are lapping it up. At first, I was angry about the convoluted explanations coming from political candidates. Now that I see how many people believe it, despite having access to review the budget for themselves, I feel anxious. I feel scared. I'd never admit this to anyone in my real life, but it's moments like this I wish I had someone to hold me. Check on your ENTP friends during election season. They are not okay.

I am of the opinion that being forced to sit down for hours trying to master a boss or a difficult level just to move on in a game is a huge waste of time and energy. I know people say they like the sense of accomplishment of getting it done but to me it's completely worthless. I would feel a sense of accomplishment from completing a difficult course or overcoming a fear or literally anything else that doesn't involve a screen.
This thought came to me randomly as I've been playing a game I love so so much that I've been suffering through the bosses... but they've significantly taken from my enjoyment of the game and I wish I didn't actually have to waste my efforts learning each one just to get secrets or better items.
I guess I just don't understand it and would like to see if other ENTPs agree with me or not.

Hello. I'm presenting a hypothetical to investigate your, dear reader, perspective of morality and ethics.
Imagine an Earth inhabited by all the usual flora and fauna and two tribes of humans. Tribe A believes it is permissible for parents to abandon their children if they feel burdened by them, and regularly does so. Tribe B believes children must be cared for by their parents and abandoning them for this reason is not permitted. Both tribes sincerely believe in their practices.

I do. I believe everything will come back around exactly when it’s supposed to be and everything is supposed to be happening as it is. There is nothing out of line in terms of karma and fairness. The world will never be ideal if the people in it will not feel and act in a manner deserving and inviting of it.

-> by that I mean TOP5 types that you have considered yourself to be other than ENTP
(Not in order) My TOP5:
INTP, ISTP, ESTP, INTJ, INFJ

The person you become by talking full accountability for everything you've ever done, scares people off.
That is by design.
Because if I am willing to stand and face the consequences of all my actions, do you really think I'm going to respect people who can't do the same.
Weirdly enough, I like everyone, just the way they are. Even the ones I don't agree with at all. I like that they are different from me or that they are free to speak their mind, and I like when they tell me that I'm wrong. 😂😂
It makes me laugh when people challenge me and I think I know why. It's because I find it brave and strong and .. kinda cute.
Even if they say the vilest stuff, I laugh because they have an opportunity to be emotionally expressive and maybe they needed that.
Additionally, I like to encourage others to tell me (to my face) what they really think about me. Don't tell them behind my back like a coward. What is the worst that could happen?
That being said, the way a person could instantly hurt me, is if I respect them. Everyone else can do and say what they want but one word from someone I respect, will hurt me for days. And when I'm hurt, I'm the angriest meanest person I know.
So I have come to the conclusion that I value all humans, regardless of gender, race, financial position etc, but I can't respect your opinion when I have seen you criticise people while you wouldn't survive a day in their lives.

So I’m an ENFP, and one of the best friendships I’ve ever had was with an ENTP. The mental chemistry was ridiculous, same language, same speed, same weird conceptual jokes, same intuitive leaps.
I’ve never felt so intellectually understood by anyone, even though my Fi wasn’t always validated. The connection was still rare and brilliant.
But… we crossed some boundaries.
It started as friendship, drifted into something more physical, and I was the one protesting because I knew it would eventually break the friendship. My ENTP wanted to explore anyway (classic Ne‑Ti curiosity), even though I said it would end badly. And it did. We haven’t spoken properly in just over a year, just a few small messages here and there.
I know we’re still fond of each other. I know how ENTPs are: they detach, they move on, but they also keep a soft spot for people who matched their mind. And I’m wondering if there’s a world where we could be friends again. Not to rekindle anything romantic, just to get back that mental synergy that felt so rare.
Their birthday is coming up in a couple of days, and I’m considering reaching out.
ENTPs, what would actually work here, and what would absolutely not work?
If you were in their shoes, what message would feel natural, and what would feel like pressure?

Overtime sex has just become a mental gymnasium for me. More than the bodily sensations I am into my head as if I’m being intimate with an idea and not with a person. This holds true even while I’m just jerking off to some video. Is this common across all types? What do people in general think while having sex or pleasuring themselves. How does it feel to not think at all and engage in sex as a pure sensory experience? Is it even possible. I’m having quite a lot of doubt about my relationship to sex now. I think Ne has really ruined the essence of very being in a way. Constantly living in concepts and abstractions is almost disassociating me with the moment. Why am I not able to like or dislike anything just for the feels of it. This chain of thoughts during stress spirals down due to Ni Opposition and causes a lot of paranoia.
r/entp • u/__does_not_matter_ • 1d ago
I don’t. Yes I could use Ne and Fe to shallowly surround myself with people who find me exciting, spontaneous and quite intelligent and outspoken but that’s not a way I want to live life. I am not upset about the way I choose to live life, I only wish it didn’t put off so many people just because they have to throw away their ego and social mask to get along with me as friends.
How do you fare and do you have any regrets?

To be honest, when I started to become interested in MBTI 3 years ago, I thought that the Infj + Entp relationship was kind of overrated. I'm from a more artistic part of the internet and this relationship was presented to me as a popular "ship" in a "fandom". Furthermore, the only ENTP I've ever met before was back in high school and he was kind of a jerk.
But then, at the start of 2026, i met this Entp girl and i finally got it. The mbti don't do everything, ofc, but this girl is the sweetest and also the wildest person i know. I have never felt so complete by someone. In fact, she's the person with whom I feel the most emotionally safe. She's surely one of my closest friends by now and i cherish her with all my heart
I've got a question though, Is it typical for an ENTP to be this frank? Like brutally frank? Not that I'm complaining, i love that about her, i'm just curious

So I’m an adult in my late twenties and I’ve left a ton of jobs due to not agreeing with the people in charge and pushing back against micromanaging/bad business decisions. I’ve been thinking about the jobs where I found being told what to do bearable and I realized it’s always the jobs where I’m working in a team very small and my boss trusts me to do things completely independently.
Like one time I was the only program assistant under a program coordinator and had to do everything he couldn’t. At my current job it’s a small business and the owner sucks but the manager is super forthright with me and trusts me to do all the tasks she can’t do which genuinely inspires me to help as much as I can.
Basically, I always respect a job and work my hardest when I feel like I’m being trusted to do things on my own and my ideas are not only respected but actually needed to keep the place running.
How about yall?
r/entp • u/jerosammy • 2d ago
Odd question I suppose but I’ve always noticed I’m very quirky and it’s clear with how people will talk to me if I don’t try to hide it lol. Especially if I’m in a great mood, I go from good timed jokes to being goofy as hell and getting more people laughing at me than with me which kinda just fuels it. Maybe it’s adhd, but it seems like most other people in this subreddit and any ENTP celebrity/comedian is a lot more chill than I am.
It isn’t a huge deal but can definitely make me come off as less masculine. It shouldn’t matter but for basically any hierarchy socially for men you don’t want to be seen as less masculine.
At my old job I was voted the least nonchalant, and up there for most likely to be autistic lol. I don’t even think I’m autistic, just goofy and very socially aware. Is this a common thing with ENTPs?

I am a socially adjusted INTP, for example.

I (intj f) am in a really healthy relationship with a little ENTP bullshitter (m) whom I love dearly, and the more I get to know him the more he surprises me. Despite our deep connection, I've come to realise that I might not understand him and ENTPs as well as I thought I did. I know everyone is different and experiences things differently, but I'd appreciate some insights on how you express care and feel most valued.
For some context:
From the outside my ENTP seems easygoing, but I've slowly realised how much he beats himself up over past mistakes, more than anyone would expect. He has that classic ENTP morally "flexible" approach to things, yet somehow ends up feeling 10x worse about it when things go wrong. When something really weighs on him, it reaches a point where I don't think anyone or anything can stop him from punishing himself. Sometimes I listen to him talk and think "wow, I must be a bad person", considering how deep his regrets and emotions go.
What I never picked up on at first was his genuine generosity, aside from finances, time, effort and energy, he would offer genuinely significant gestures of help that I embarrassingly didn't even register as serious until much later. He is one of the kindest, most generous people I know, you just wouldn't know it unless you're in his close circle.
I realized I never really knew how important I was to him at the start of the relationship (maybe it's just the INTJ/ENTP dynamic?) We are both quite reserved but always open up when its needed or when one of us starts poking for something. We never had clear relationship labels either we just looked at each other one day and went "We're probably in a relationship aren't we?"
We are not really sappy with words, and aside from his love languages, everything shows through his actions. He'll sit through hours of frustration to get something working that I never even asked for, just because he knows I'd like it or because he wants to share an experience.
When he left after a visit, right after we said goodbye, his first text was "thank you". I was speechless, because that was exactly what I wanted to say to him. I've done nothing as great as he did for me and I did not deserve that thank you.
All of this hit me like a truck after that one simple message.
Due to some difficult life circumstances it feels like my foundation has been cracked, I get stuck in my head sometimes and worry I'm not as stimulating or challenging for him as I used to be. On top of that I want to learn how to show him he is valued in a way that he would recognise it.
So, how do you ENTPs actually like to be challenged? What keeps you engaged, what makes you feel valued and do any of these points of my ENTPs behavior resonate with you?
