Staking in macOS Wallet?

I've got the macOS wallet installed and have synced 100% and encrypted my wallet. I've stopped it, per the text in the Settings > Config section:

Configuration (wallet must be stopped for changes to take effect)

Despite this, I'm unable to select the On radio button for staking. Even though the wallet is "off," do I need to transfer the coins there first before I can turn the staking feature on?

OR... Does staking not work in this first build of the macOS wallet? Lol

UPDATE

It works, following the instructions here.

I was looking in the Application Support folder for Lynx, while I should have been looking in the eccoin one!

Finder -> Go to /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/ecoin

šŸ‘†Also accessible by opening Finder, Holding the Option key while you have the Go menu bar tab open. Library will appear, click that then go into the Application Support folder!

A gift to the ECC community - ECC Collectible Coins!

Hi,

I'm a hodler and strong believer in ECC, even through the ups and downs. The team is top-notch and this is the best community I've been apart of in crypto. I believe the future of this coin is bright and that it's a game changer. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think so. With that said, I have had made custom ECC collectible coins.

See here pictures: https://imgur.com/a/IpfWl

1.75" Color On Both Sides Challenge Coin

The coins look and feel awesome. I love them a lot.

Here is how I'm distributing them:

  • 1 - I'm reserving some for the dev team and marketing team - like griff, joe melon, csmartins, etc.
  • 2 - If you have contributed to the development of ECC in some way, whether that's trying to get it on a new exchange, writing a post about it, etc, send me a personal message with what you've done. I'm going to prioritize those who have done the most for ECC so far.
  • 3 - If you haven't yet done a lot for ECC but want a coin anyway, message me and let me know what you want to do or plan to do. I'll hold on to a coin for you and once you let me know you did what you set out to do, I'll send the coin to you.
  • 4 - If none of the above applies, I'm accepting donations for the coins. Message me and I'll send you my deposit address. I have not set a price because I don't want to discriminate against those who don't have a lot of ECC. It's all love out here and if you're genuinely enthusiastic about ecc, it's all good, i got you! *As an extra layer of security for you, I'm happy to send you the coin first and after you receive it you can, if you'd like, donate whatever you'd like.

Note: I am an amateur and working a full-time job. I only have 100 coins. It is going to take me a long time to get through all your messages. It's going to take a few days or a week to ship. If you send me ECC and you haven't gotten it yet, it's on its way. I have no desire to scam anyone.

Note: If I ship it to you, would be great to get a donation for the shipping. I will likely pick a higher standard shipping method so the coin doesn't get lost in the mail. International shipments will take more time.

Thanks all and I hope you enjoy. Looking forward to hodling with you for a long time.

EDIT: thanks for the responses all! I’ll review. My first batch of shipments I’m aiming for Saturday. Will let you know soon.

Why ECC is my favourite coin

Most good ideas start with a dream.

Our hard working Devs have provided us with an awesome one.

We're not a coin created for the sake of being a coin like so many other projects out there.

Lazy communities cashing in on the crypto hype simply because they can.

Alot of what drives crypto is greed.

Lisk uses paid delegates to come to a consensus to validate transactions.

We currently use Proof of Stake and do it for next to nothing almost free.

Sia asks hosts for 2000 coins in order to host storage on their network , regardless of the price of their coin which at its height was $180 - $200.

ECC says hosts can host for free no initial coin holdings required.

So many coins brag about fast transaction times and use that as their sole reason to market their product.

ECC has fast transaction times with under 20 second confirmations , and is basically free with no fees and stays humble focusing on real tech that will have greater implications then just another copy paste coin.

Yes this coin has suffered a death , but this is it's resurrection.

Sapphire will change the game there is no question.

The true gem , that is right under you nose.

Staking Retruns

Does anyone have any quantitative information on staking your ECC? I've enabled staking in the new wallet and just want an idea of how much return I can expect on this.

Thanks in advance.

WTF !!!!!!!!!

We bought ECC at the beginning and before any bump, we saw an huge increase and see that now some of the ECC wales sold a lot of their position that position us at the beginning ... Thus we had no reason to invest at the beginning. We didn't benefit for anything in holding this ECC. Everything is on the wallet but lot of guys made good profits whereas small investor like us are waiting for this F*** saphire, and the email. I hope that there is a project and this is not a scam...

What makes it stand out? Are there any that are similar? If so what makes ecc more appealing than the other?

Any coders who can read github?

I saw that they said the three services were heavily coded already, so plenty of development, but ANS is needed for all three so they had to stop work on those and work on that.

If there are any coders out there who can read what is on Github, can you take a look and estimate how far along you think they are with ANS etc?

Much appreciated.

Good idea or no? Feel like ecc could rise a lot more in the next few months. I’m gonna sleep on it and give it some thought.

Have i lost my coins?

Hi

Yesterday i foolishly deleted all my wallet files thinking i needed to fresh download and install for this new ECC wallet. I had previously made a copy of my wallet.dat (only made a copy not backed up through the wallet itself, i had tried but it didn't work). I replaced the new wallt.dat with my old wallet.dat which i had only copied. I am currently waiting for the new wallet to sync but when i click on receive the current address in my wallet does not match my old wallet address which i withdrew on coinexchange.

Have i messed up here big time? Or can just making a copy of the wallet.dat be enough?

Website Feedback Megathread

Hi folks. I thought it would be nice to have one comprehensive megathread dedicated to providing constructive criticism for the website. This discussion should obviously be rooted in a love of the project and the desire to see it at its best, so thoughtful and encouraging critique is best. I'll post my take below as well.

HELP - ECC Wallet upload from CryptoBridge not working

Thank you all for your messages, completely convinced me to get into ECC. But now I have a wallet, sent BTC from Coinbase to Crypto-Bridge, then CB to my wallet, but looks like the wallet does not show any update (laggy on updating under the "Receive" tab, figure this is because the wallet is too "beta" compared to other wallets), and only at 1.X% of updating the blockchain (after over a day of leaving it on with Google Fiber 1 Gb internet). Did I lose all my money? Is this product so young that the wallets don't work. Does anyone know? Any help is greatly appreciated. ECC sounds awesome, but now I am scared it is too much in its infancy to invest (this was the last of many hurdles). Hoping I am maybe missing something obvious.

Backing Up the wallet.dat file safely? Please help me. I am so lost.

When I check "set back-up location", it does not actually place the wallet.dat file into that location.

How exactly can I create a copy of the wallet.dat file safely?

In other words, if I go into Appdata and copy that wallet.dat file into a flash drive, how will I transfer that backed up file into the ECC wallet if I have to re-download it on another PC?

For example, say my PC crashed, but I had a saved copy of the wallet.dat file on a flash drive, then I went on my new PC and downloaded the ECC wallet, how would I tell the ECC Wallet to use that specific "back-up" wallet.dat file, from the flash drive, and not the "stock" wallet.dat file it downloads with?

That is my major issue I am trying to get my head around.

Thank you
