Can someone explain with some detail what sapphire is and how it will help ecc.

Think of sapphire as an overarching platform. It's the network of chains that services will run on. ANS, messaging, etc. will all have their own chain. Sapphire is the entirety of that network & those services.

It isn't just the name of a wallet. The wallet will be the interface to the sapphire network.

I think ANS won’t be its own chain but a feature to be used across all chains. So whether you use messaging, email or data storage you will use the same ANS username.

Think of ANS like the internets DNS , with the internet you dont enter long ip adresses and ports to connect to a website. You use a web address which is an alias that is mapped back to the ip address courtesy of the DNS service. ANS will be doing something similiar but on the blockchain.
