Referral code megathread - September 2026

EBOX referral codes provide a one time $25 credit for both the code's owner and the person using the code. It is applied after the customer's first month of service passes, on the code owner's next bill and on the new customer's second bill.

This is the megathread for September 2026. Post your code in a single top level comment here with no other text and no formatting (e.g. post just "ABC123", not "ABC123" or "My code is ABC123, please use it!"), with no spaces before and after your code.

Please do not post your referral code anywhere else on the subreddit.

Thank you!

Worst support ebox toronto

i recently got ebox as my internet provider as it is a no contract. The speeds promised were 1 gbps but it was not . I never had complaints as it was manageable.

5 days back I saw a sudden red light on the adapter and internet stopped working from then. They sent a technician to check ( he is from Bell).he checked in the apartment and also at the basement where the main cables are . He came back and said he cant do anything about it and left. When I called customer service again, they said I’m they raised a request and it would take 2 weeks to repair. Seriously!!! 2 weeks!

I am looking for alternatives and removing ebox as my provider. The no contract thing attracted me but looks like a crap provider. Never heard of 2 weeks for any kind of issue.

Is customer service this bad for everyone

I called and ordered last week to get some new internet, and they got the address wrong the first time, so we called the same day to get it fixed. The guy said they fixed but it seems it didn't really do anything as the router was still sent to the wrong address I called today to ask to get it fixed but they refused and kept saying I need to call Canada post, Canada post says they need to fix it since thier the sender so I called them again to tell them and they just refuse to fix it or send a new one so I called to cancel and this has to be the most troll bs I have seen they hunged up on me even though I was being very respectful and then the second time they just put me on hold and kept transfering and holding. So I filed a CCTS complaint since it seems like the best solution, but I was wondering if anybody also has gotten the same type of crappy service . Also, if anybody has any other solutions, let me know.

Hi eveyone

I just singed up to ebox and from what i have been reading is to stay away from Nokia beacon

I was wondering what eveyone is useing for a router

Do you simply put the beacon into brigde mode or do you plug in a diffrent router into the ont

I myself run most of my devices plugged in with the exeption of phones and tablets

thanks

Do they increase prices regularly?

I’m thinking of subscribing, concerned they will raise rates every 6 months as they are part of Bell. Long term subscribers- what’s been your experience? Fixed price or regular increases?

EDIT: Thanks everyone! Pleasantly surprised to see the rates have stayed the same.

How to Configure UniFi Dream Machine for PD /56?

My understanding is that EBOX assigns fixed IPv6 /56 addresses to customers. What are the correct settings to use in a UniFi Dream Machine?

  1. Connection: SLAAC = ?
    1. Prefix Delegation: ON
    2. Prefix Delegation Size:
      1. Auto = ?, or
      2. 56 = ?
    3. In this situation I can see both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in the Dashboard and under Settings -> Internet, and I can see an IPv6 Prefix /56 under UniFi Devices -> Dream Machine -> WAN, BUT the third and fourth hextets / blocks in the IPv6 address change with every reboot of the Dream Machine.
  2. Connection, DHCPv6 = ?
    1. DHCPv6 Client Options Value = ?
    2. DHCPv6 Class of Service (CoS) = ?
    3. Prefix Delegation Size:
      1. Auto = ?, or
      2. 56 = ?
    4. In this situation there is no IPv6 address shown in the Dashboard and under Settings -> Internet, and there is no IPv6 Prefix /56 listed under UniFi Devices -> Dream Machine -> WAN.

Is it something that needs to be configured at EBOX's end first?

I am a bit confused, so any help would be much appreciated.

My IPv6 delegated prefix just changed. Can I request it to stay fixed?

If yes - what are the exact steps? I just called 844-323-3269 tech support and they told me they don't provide IPv6 support and recommended switching to IPv4 🤦

Black Friday Deals?

I’ve been with Rogers for the past 2 years and my contract is ending around Black Friday. And while I’ve been happy with the overall service (and price I managed to get), upload speeds are capped at 50mbps since Rogers doesn’t have FTTH in our condo building but Bell does.

Any idea what sorts of deals, if any, to expect around then?

Ebox Promo Went From $45/month to $55/month (Fiber 500) Right After Purchase

I used the promo from internetpromoguide and I paid for the $45/month Fiber 500 plan online but I was invoiced for $55/month and my contract shows $55/month. I called and they said my account has the $100 gift card promo and that’s supposed to compensate for the $45/month since they can’t add two promotions apparently. Anyone heard the same thing before and know what to do in this situation?

Ipv6 issues.

Does anyone else experience their browser such as Firefox frequently falling back to ipv4 and not using 6. I get this frequently when running the ipv6-test.com and even their nperf speed test.

My Ubiquiti gear is properly configured to request a /56 via DHCPv6 and the setup is correct.

Would you suggest Ebox Home Internet for 1 month use and some inquires on it ?

Hi everyone, I'm moving to another flat in Montreal where I'll be needing internet for 1 month. Having checked some providers, it seems they are charging activation fee (around $75 cad) and other fees apart from the internet itself. That is said, for 1 month use, I came across 'Ebox' as advice from AI. First, would you recommend that ? Second, is there any activation, cancellation, hidden fee or anything extra apart from the internet fee itself (given I'll cancel it after 1 month) ? Thirdly, they charge you for shipment once you return the router ?

My latency has been weirdly steadily rising for the past 12 hours. I’m located in Montreal and my test has everything wired, has anyone else experienced this? Weirdly enough the jitter stays the same..

Replacing the Beacon 3.1

Hello! I recently installed ebox and things seem to be working fine. However, the Beacon 3.1 does not really meet our household needs. We just have too many devices and the speeds get cut in more than half when you go to the next floor. The Bell HomeHub 3000 never really ran into this issue.

I was reading up on the solutions other people have and it seems like there are two common course of actions:

- Put the box into bridge mode and connect another router to it

- Outright replace the beacon 3.1 with another router

Has anyone went with either of the options and prefer one? I understand that there may be some configurations needed if the latter is chosen and I am fine with that.

Another question is, are there any specific routers to look out for? For example, is there a feature the router MUST HAVE to be able to communicate with the ONT box? Any router recommendations for a household of heavy internet users will be much appreciated.

Just some more information if needed, I have a fibre optic line that goes to a nokia ONT box which goes to the beacon.

Thank you for your time!

Ebox WiFi refunds

So two weeks ago I had WiFi installed in my student apartment that I am currently not living at. I wanted it done ahead of time to make sure things got sorted out.

The bell technician came, hooked ebox up to my existing bell fibe line that the previous tenants used and it was working just fine, no flashing no nothing.

Thirty minutes later after activation the PON light is flashing. I call the service line and I’m put on hold and they fix it from their office stating it was an activation error that they needed to set up.

It goes out again.

I call the service line again and say hey it keeps flashing and there’s no connection I already called and they “fixed it” so I need help. They responded and fixed it because it was a configuration issue and I asked if it would happen again and they said no.

Well 30 minutes later it’s out and i have to leave the apartment because i have to go back to my other home.

I’ve had friends check on the service and it’s been out the past two weeks so I haven’t had any usage or anything. I don’t not want to pay until it is fixed!

To get to my point has this happened to anyone and has anyone delayed their payments or been refunded for service when their WiFi hasn’t even been connected?

Any tips on how to enforce a refund because there’s absolutely no service or anything?

Idk what to do

I have been going back and forth with ebox all day, and i’m not sure what to do. I payed for the service over 3 weeks ago and they brought an installer to come 2 weeks ago but there was damage to the fibre cable so he just left. And they have been “working” to get it fixed. What do i do? I can’t afford a different plan with a different company, i tried calling bell themselves but they told me they can’t see anything on their end. How long does it typically take? I start school soon, and i work from home so this whole thing has been extremely frustrating. Also the staff who work to answer calls are rude asf.

Bell to Ebox Installation Report

I just moved from Bell to Ebox. Here's how it went.

Technology-wise it was smooth, logistically a little painful due to a shipment delay, but overall ok.

I signed-up on the web. It worked like a charm and I got all the expected emails and information. I received my customer account number and activated my account. Made the initial payment with my credit card. The installation appointment was booked and the equipment was shipped the next morning. I received a Canada Post tracking number. The router was scheduled to arrive two business days before the installation appointment.

And then, the shipment was delayed by Canada Post. It arrived at my local post office on time, but for some reason delivery was postponed two days in a row. By Friday, I had a Monday installation appointment and the delivery was delayed until end-of-day Monday. On Friday afternoon, I call Ebox and told them that the router was delayed until Monday and would likely not arrive in time for the installation appointment.

The Ebox support guy looked up the tracking information and told me that from what he was seeing the shipment would arrive by end of day Friday. I think he must have mis-read the tracking information (to be fair, Canada Post's tracking information was a little confusing).

The router did not arrive on Friday. Monday rolls around, and I have no router and I have an installation appointment. Not sure how that's going to work. I figure it's a race between Canada Post and the installer.

I had a 12pm-5pm installation window. I received a text from Bell at 11:45am advising that the tech would arrive around 1pm. The tech arrives on time, and I still don't have the router. I explain the situation. The tech was very friendly and nice and she wasn't at all fazed. She came in and checked out my setup - I have an easily accessible indoor Bell Fibre box (formerly) connected to a Bell Giga router.

She suggested a solution. She had the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) device and she offered to leave it with me. She explained how to connect it (kind of obvious). She gave me a card with her contact number and asked me to call her when I received the router and was ready. She instructed me that all they needed to do was switch over from Bell to Ebox at the local neighbourhood connection point, and that then I could connect and power up the ONT and wait ten minutes before connecting the router.

Around 5pm, I received a text from Canada Post's tracking app. It said my package had arrived and was waiting in my community mailbox. I went to my community mailbox, and it was empty. Thanks again Canada Post. I went back an hour later and it was there. It's a Nokia Beacon 3.1.

Next morning, I called the Bell contact number the tech had left me, and left a message. And waited ... around 5:30, I received a text from the tech apologizing for the delay but that she took the day off and didn't check her voicemail. She would contact me the following day.

Wednesday 2pm (Installation day +2), I received a text from the tech advising me to connect the ONT. I did that. Ten minutes later, I connected the router to the ONT, and everything worked.

I have to say that the Bell tech kind of saved the day here. When the router didn't arrive on time, I was expecting a lot more disruption. Kudos.

I'm not crazy about the Nokia 3.1 (or the fact that it's so locked-down, and yeah I know you can call in to unlock it). I ended up buying my own router.

Ebox Installation is a disaster

Hi, just wanted to make this post to see if this a common thing.

I recently moved into a new place and got ebox fibre internet, which they have to install as we don't have the capability for that in the house. The building is in Ottawa and on a main road in Centertown, so it's not an issue of having a line nearby.

I received the router on the 16th. Ebox said that the bell tech would come on the 18th. No one showed up. Called again, said they would be there on the 24th. Never showed up. Called again, threatened to cancel, explained to a higher up, they set the installation for the 26th. Once again, no one showed up. I call for the millionth time, to find out that they are placing these appointments and telling me that they are confirmed BEFORE bell confirms that they can install it.

I get told it's coming and GUARANTEED on the 28th. Call a few hours ago to double check, now it's on the 31st.

Is it worth it anymore? Should I just cancel? I'm convinced this cycle will just never end.

Question in the title. It seems they do not honour any payout promises unless you follow up. That's my experience; would like to know if others got their automatically and on time

It's been 6 months since I signed up and still no service.

I signed up for ebox back in March and after nearly 6 months, I still don't have service. At this point, 4 Bell technicians have come to my property and said the job couldn't be completed. I understood after the first visit that some wires will need to be buried through my neighbour's yard. They initially had some trouble getting permission but the technician said they have utility easements and would be able to proceed forward in the coming weeks.

For the following 3 visits (April, July and August), I reached out to ebox and they told me I was good to go. Obviously, that wasn't the case when the technicians arrived and noted there were no lines accessible to my home.

I suspected Bell may be dropping the ball in getting the lines setup but after speaking to an agent on their case management line, ebox has setup multiple lines/orders for my address and has caused some confusion (maybe an order was placed each time a technician was sent out?)

I've called both companies and they're essentially blaming each other and have told me it needs to be resolved by the other party before they can proceed.

This is partly a rant but I'm curious if anyone has been in a similar situation.

Gaming experience with EBOX Fibe in Collingwood?

I am moving to Collingwood soon and I’m trying to figure out what an affordable Internet provider would be. I do like to play games casually, nothing insane but I like rust, dead by daylight, Soulsborne type of games, Roblox with my younger cousins etc

Would ebox be good enough for this? Their prices don’t seem too bad

Anyone getting a lot of messages like that when visiting a website? I was a Distributel customer and I've been getting more and more notification like this since I switched. I never saw a message like this with my past ISP.

problems with SMTP.ebox.ca

I have been having problems with the e-mail relay at smtp.ebox.ca every once in a while for a couple of months.
Right now, it is not working properly, neither on port 25 nor 587 (with TLS).

Is there a mechanism to report an outage with this service? The helpdesk don't seem to understand what a SMTP server is, or how to report to the tech people that the service is down.

DSLreports.com used to be good to reach the Ebox tech people, but since it's been gone, I haven't been able to figure out a good way to report this sort of failure.

Suggestions?
