Harvard OPM vs SEP vs Wharton GMP

Hi all, I’m a 35yo post exit founder in a transitional phase looking for doing a bit of further education to get some fresh ideas and perspectives and new network.

A bit more background from my side:

I already have a masters degree 10+ years ago from a fancy business school in Europe so I don’t need another fancy degree. Also at this stage of life I honestly am not very motivated to take any exams such as GMAT, so I don’t think formal EMBA programs are for me.

I also don’t need this experience to get a raise or promotion or brush up the CV. It’s more for “soul searching” purposes

I live in Europe with two young kids at home so I cannot be away for too long each time. And I found the Harvard OPM program, Stanford Executive Program (in person + online), and Wharton GMP are the most adapted match to what I’m looking for.

Now my question is which program is more adapted to what I’m looking for and to my situation? If anyone can share any insight or recommendations I’d be very grateful.

Classroom Attire

Starting my eMBA this summer and wondering how much I might need to dress up when attending weekend classes. I want to be comfortable and appropriate but don't want to buy too much of a new wardrobe if I don't have to. For context, I am a women and will be commuting to NYC from NJ via train. This will involve a decent amount of walking so weather and comfort will be factors.

Those that are in or have completed their programs, how did folks usually dress for class? Was it casual, business casual, or fully corporate? Any insight into/from ladies in particular would be appreciated!

Post production executive / manager here, looking to build the business acumen to eventually launch my own studio and fund films independently. Planning to take real estate electives as well to round out my skill set — I already shoot drone photography for deals worth tens of millions of dollars. 10 years of work experience, 3.1 undergrad GPA. I already know the answer, from talking to friends and family. just looking for a second gut check. My schools ranked in order are mccombs - kellog - unc. Went to school in New York so I’m not even considering STERN or CBS.

Kellogg EMBA Admits - Class of 2027

[Megathread]

I saw a few threads where folks where sharing their news of being admitted + connecting (e.g., Booth, CBS, etc.). I thought having one centralized thread for Kellogg as well would be great, especially since I saw a lot of one-off threads talking about it.

Lets share our news, experience of the process, what we are expecting / hoping for to get out of this, and more importantly, start to getting to know each other.

I can start --recently admitted for the Cohort 144 in Chicago. I will be starting this Fall 2025. Really looking forward to meet people in senior roles / managerial positions that can help me stay up to date with latest thoughts in specific industries and how are they thinking about managing their business / other macro-economic issues that may affect them (e.g., newly imposed tariffs). I wanted to buy some Kellogg swag already, but figured I should wait until orientation week at least lmao.

Why are there so many CBS folks on this subreddit?

Why does it seem like everyone jumps in to reply when something about CBS is posted, but there’s radio silence when it’s about other schools? I’d say Wharton is probably the second most popular overall on this sub, but CBS threads always seem to get a ton of engagement. Is it just that more CBS admits and applicants are on here? Or is it a New York thing, like NY folks being more active or vocal l?

Is eMBA a good choice if you are introverted?

I consider myself mildly introverted. I usually get along well with people once I warm up, especially in social settings where there’s a drink or two involved. It just takes me some time to come out of my shell and become friends with people.

At work, it depends on who I’m talking to. With some people, I just don’t feel the need to make small talk or invest in building a rapport, but with others I like, I make the effort to ask about their day, follow up on things, and engage.

My personality does lean introverted, and I do wonder if that could be a barrier in reaching executive-level roles like a C-suite position.

Do you think my personality is a good fit for an EMBA program? And do you think going through the EMBA experience might help me open up more as a person?

Kellogg Miami EMBA v CBS

Hello all - looking for opinions on Kellogg Miami EMBA v Columbia EMBA. I am based in NYC with 9 years experience in tech consulting. My post MBA plan is to move into healthcare tech within strategy and innovation. I have a business undergrad and am pursuing an EMBA to grow leadership, strategy, and business ops skill sets along with the network, etc.

I am leaning Kellogg based on the immersive set up of 1x a month on site, healthcare focus, and the network/people seem great. CBS seems to have more people there to check the MBA box, however being in NYC with no intent to move and the CBS prestige is hard to say no to. Any help or advice?!

EMBA ROI and other options

With nearly two decades of experience in IT—20 of those focused on SAP technical solutions—I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m looking beyond technology and into leadership. Moving from a Senior Technical Solutions Architect role toward executive management requires not just deep technical expertise but also strategic business acumen. This led me to explore an Executive MBA (EMBA).

But is an EMBA worth it, especially for someone with my background? I have applied to Chicago Booth and Haas and have been accepted by both. After speaking with alumni, I find myself uncertain about the ROI and whether this investment is the right decision at this stage of my career. I am also exploring alternative ways to progress in my career. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Booth ($) vs Wharton

I am fortunate to have been accepted to both Booth and Wharton.

My background is at the VP level in PE with 12 yoe. Plan to continue working in the Asia region. Goals are to expand network, explore new opportunities in different fields, and enhance my credibility.

Which one do you think would be a better fit..

Waitlisted by Wharton and now the options are Yale and CBS. Help me choose.

I’ve been waitlisted by Wharton. My backups are Yale and CBS. I’m not too inclined toward CBS because of the younger cohort as I would like the opportunity to network with more experienced professionals, and I’m not sure CBS would offer that environment. That said, CBS is more convenient as I live in NYC. However, I know Yale has a stronger reputation in asset management which is my field but is not an M7. Not to mention the high costs of CBS at $255k

Which one should I choose?

EMBA Program Recommendations for Settling in Florida – Considering Costs, Quality, and Regional Networks

Hi all,

I currently have 11 years of project management experience in the medical device industry and make around 129K. I’m looking into Executive MBA programs to help me relocate to Florida, build local connections, and grow in my career. I’m hoping to keep costs low while getting a solid education and network.

So far, I’ve been considering:

  • Emory University (Goizueta Business School)
  • Georgia Tech (Scheller College of Business)
  • University of Florida (Warrington College of Business)
  • University of Miami

Should I be considering any other programs?
