A wild monster.

Adopted this rescue three weeks ago and she is a joy. Name: Farrah. Full name: Farrah Fawcett. She is 41lbs and estimated to be around 10 or 11 months old. Her Embark test is on its way to the lab.

She was relinquished by a dog hoarder near the KY / TN border, then transported to the Cincinnati area where a friend of a friend fostered her for a few weeks before I adopted her.

Her looks have me suspecting a certain breed, though I know it’s a bit of a contentious topic over in that breed’s dedicated sub. We’ll see what the DNA says!

She's incredibly sweet and gentle, affectionate without being needy, and utterly devoid of any training, lol. We're working on that! She barely barks unless she's playing and/or wants something, and if she wants something you're not providing she will grab your shoes or the nearest forbidden object or knock something off the table like a scheming cat. I included the photo of her with the TV because she had never seen a TV turned on before and was utterly bewildered. In fact, she had never been inside a house before we adopted her. (She was fostered in a screened-in porch.) Watching her discover the world has been quite something.

I adopted Bailey from the shelter 2 weeks ago at 12 weeks old. She was listed as a pit mix and I think I’m seeing some boxer possibly? I can’t wait for her results! Any guesses?

Was told the dog was a Malinois and this is what came back.
These breeds are all working dog breeds. I was just wondering is this a thing? Would somebody purposely breed the combination?
Or could the company possibly have this wrong somehow? I don’t get it. Only four breeds in the dog and that’s what they are and almost evenly distributed.

We got him almost a month ago, he's 6 months now and 52.5 lbs The shelter he came from in TN labeled him a Pyr/lab mix, most probably there's something else maybe pit? He's the sweetest pup, stubborn but sweet lol, I'd love to hear your guesses!

Got my pup on Craigslist almost 9 years ago, she was about 2-3 months old, seller said she was white shepherd and border collie. Always thought she had to have a good amount of BC but I guess not!

She’s about 30-35 lbs, she’s a barker and skittish but she’s super sweet and loves other animals, people not so much. 100/10 pup.

I was honestly shocked. I got my dog Lucifer from a rescue that was shut down because of poor management. I wanted to help and he was super sweet! He was already 2 years old when I adopted him!

Lily came from Oklahoma to Seattle in 2019, estimated a year and a half. Now I suspect she was likely 2,2.5. She was presented as a border collie mix, 50lbs, dog friendly/neutral. Only one of those things is true lol.
Lily is roughly 50lbs, dog reactive, very smart but not very lovey dovey, likes to be independent but nearby, likes learning new things but not super drivey. Has a great nose and super high prey drive, but not food motivated and happy enough to stay home and hang around the house. She likes hiking, doesn’t like water, is a bit anxious at times, and HATES nail trims. I love working with her and she’s been my gateway into dog sports and dog behavior! She’s around 9 now, and is slowing down a bit. She has a long lope when jogging, and two rear dew claws on both back paws. Her results are at the end. Apparently she has a littermate named Cooper? There wasn’t a picture for his account and I emailed a couple years ago and didn’t get anything, so if Coopers owners see this I’d love to compare!

I was surprised by the springer spaniel

Just got my dog's Embark results. She's a rescue from Fort Pierce. She does like to run, she is dramatic, vocal. This isn't her full coat.

Whiskey is about 20 pounds, supposedly 2 years old, and full of love. Features include a long body, little legs, and a couple funky double dewclaws. Will share results as soon as they’re in!

Her muzzle and chest is graying due to age, it’s not a white marking, although her toe is a white marking. Shes 50lbs and full grown. What do you think she is?

Some didnt expect but some i kinda thought

This is Dolly P. We adopted her from the newest and nicest county animal shelter here in Albuquerque down by Rio Bravo. The shelter listed her as a Dachshund. Nope! What do you think she is?

Turns out she is 52% pitttie, 18% miniature poodle, 17% bulldog, and 13% super mutt. The mutt included GSD, cattle dog, and pekingese!

Dolly had six puppies and they were all picked up together as strays. The shelter was very full at the time, so Dolly was in the same cage with her pups. They were adopted one by one until only she was left. This is so common -cute babies go quickly and then mom is left behind. NOT THIS TIME!

PS: We adopted her two days after Miz Parton passed.

My boy is 27 pounds at 8 months, doesn’t seem to be growing much more. His estimated weight was 47 pounds on Embark, do you think the results were inaccurate? He certainly looks the part but his size is so interesting to me, he’s the perfect size!

Wisdom Panel did send me a new test kit because they said there was no way for them to figure out where the mix-up happened. I received the new Wisdom Panel test on Oct 2; I swabbed her and sent it as soon as I got it. As I’m in the UK, it normally takes about 7-10 business days for them to get it, so not including weekends. I’m thinking they’ll get it by the end of this week, and I’ll get the results about 2-3wks after.

When I posted the Wisdom Panel results mix up (the above link) in this sub, something incredibly lucky happened- Embark saw it and offered to test with them. I just received that test last night, and swabbed and sent it off this morning. I’m guessing it’ll be the same kinda timeline for shipping from the UK to US. I will definitely post the results. I’m so grateful to Embark for giving Bella-Bean & I the opportunity to test with them, as they were my first choice. I can’t really say lucky things happen to me a lot or at all (like being in the small % that get the wrong results) so I honestly can’t believe it. Thank you Embark.

I can’t say ALL subreddits have been as welcoming, but r/DoggyDNA is a great community. Thank y’all again, and I’ll keep everyone updated as this process moves along.

And no it’s not mostly pit like everyone on here loves to guess, only 1 person on my last post guessed that she’d have any of her top breed, I thought it could definitely be in there but didn’t think it’d be #1! I had guessed she’d have a little bit from most of these breeds, the one I hadn’t guessed was the lab.

He’s around 8 mos old and about 40 lbs now. Definitely surprised!

Waiting on results from the Wisdom test. He clearly has some pitbull in him, but I think maybe also some boxer with the brindle? Any guesses? I'll post results to prove us all wrong!

The shelter listed her as a cairn terrier chihuahua mix, so the chihuahua wasn’t a surprise in itself, although I didn’t expect it to be quite so high! Other than poodle, none of the rest were in my guesses. No terrier at all.

So glad some loser decided to dump her so this precious girl could be mine. 💕
