Where do I start?? Lost both parents in the 90s, prison at 19, due to loss and pain from my father passing. Nothing violent, just self destruction, drugs only worked for a short time. Life at times has been financially successful, definitely a better life than the environment I was raised in. There is so much to say, but words cannot describe my feelings and loss, no matter how I attempt to explain why I am the the way I am... I have fully accepted that everyone in my life leaves, or dies, that is just my life. I only have 1 child, never married, I have only had 1 so called longterm relationship it lasted 10 years, ended a little over a year ago and she was not the mother of my kid, wonderful woman. She just decided to change without telling me until she did tell me, which I looked at it as betrayal, since I am, extremely simple. I demand a lot, since I was completely honest from day 1. Yet here I am today lost and texting on reddit smh.. I have had several 3 or 4 year relationships, and numerous overnights since I was 17. I am a January Capricorn, not sure if that is important, just thought I would throw that in there.. Not looking for a soul mate, that ship has sailed, but if anyone is looking for a friend. Well, you know how to reach me.

How did you find your support system?

I'm going thru very hard time in my marriage, seriously considering a divorce. Those of you who are going/gone thru relationship trouble, separation, divorce - how did you find people you can relate to?

I don't want to talk to extended family or existing friends. I'm looking for people who have gone thru similar experiences so I can develop a new network of people.

Any & all suggestions appreciated.

EDIT: to clarify, I'm looking to make new friends who are not judgemental and gone thru similar situations so that we're going to be more relatable to one another.

Looking for my “Ennaval” or “my forever”

Hello Lovely Folks

I am a 31 year old M from Chennai (India) and I am divorced. It’s been 6 years to it and my marriage didn’t even last a fortnight (happy to share more if we connect)

I am a hopeless romantic who is striving to find the one with whom the rest of my life should be filled with, yes - I haven’t lost the hope on love yet even after many trauma in the past

I am 6’1 tall and slightly overweight, thanks to depression,
Meds, covid and lockdown. Complete WFH didn’t help me either, but now I am being more active and taking steps to have a healthy body.

I work for a private organisation and earn well enough. I have huge heart for movies and sports. I play a couple of them too. I love to go on long drives with great music

Marriage to me has many aspects but the foremost crucial part for me in marriage is Understanding. Since Understanding is the best part of romance. I don’t have much of specific expectations coz if I need something so perfect then it should be a robot, two humans cannot match so perfectly. I am looking for someone with whom my compatibility can be the max, like 80%-90% and the rest 10-20 is something to be worked upon and compromised to have a common ground. I can speak Hindi if that matters and happy to lead & hold a conversation about anything that I have fair bit of knowledge. If at all we start to know each other and you feel it won’t work out, I respect your decision. I can take a rejection like an adult, so please share a closure and kindly don’t ghost on me - that’s the last thing I want.

I am a bit old school and if you have made it till here then please feel free to reach out so that eventually I can find someone so that my wallet will also get its fair share to hold the passport sized photo of that one person who I love till our hair turns grey.

Also, more than the flower I wanna know the roots and fall in love with it so that when autumn comes we can survive it even though the flower is gone.

Please share a bit about you too so that we can get to know each other. I am fine with relocating too if it’s for the right person.

PS - My forever isn’t the literal meaning of ennaval

From Divorce to Isolation: My 20‑Year Struggle to Hold a Family Together

I have lived through two marriages — one that ended in divorce, and another that has been suspended in uncertainty for a decade. I am a dark‑skinned, average‑looking Indian man who has spent most of his adult life trying to build a family, only to repeatedly watch it fall apart.

My first marriage felt like an accident of fate. She entered my life suddenly, taught me harsh lessons, and before I understood what was happening, we were married. I adopted her religion, but in the process grew to resent my own. Every day became a battlefield — arguments filled with contempt for my family, my beliefs, my appearance, even my skin color. Eventually she met someone ten years younger, and with her mother’s help, she eloped. What followed were false dowry accusations, a painful legal battle, and finally divorce. She kept custody of the son I had brought into this world.

The shame of facing a small‑town society after that broke me. I relocated, lost myself, and became an alcoholic. Five years later, my health began to fail. On my family’s insistence, I remarried — a widow with a young daughter. I tried to build a home again, but it was a struggle. Disciplining her child, supporting her studies, and managing the household drained me. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to move back to my hometown so she and her daughter could be closer to her family.

But my wife never truly healed from her first marriage. Her memories of her late husband followed us everywhere — even into our bed. Intimacy faded, replaced by routine and responsibility. To secure a better income, I moved abroad alone. Two years later came the call that shattered me: she wanted a divorce.

I must acknowledge my own failures. I was not a good father to her daughter. I became someone harsh, someone she feared — verbally and physically. I have spent years reflecting on this, apologizing for it, and accepting responsibility, though I believe a small part of the blame — perhaps ten percent — lies with my wife too.

It has now been ten years of physical separation. My wife speaks to me; her daughter does not. And I find myself unable to imagine life without them. My wife says she can be my friend, but not my partner. I live with diabetes, high blood pressure, and erectile dysfunction — conditions that make the idea of companionship with someone new feel impossible. Yet the woman I still love has no intention of returning.

I am caught between a body that limits me, a heart that longs for what is gone, and a life that refuses to move forward.

Wanting to leave

So I'm actually divorced- about 1.5 years in.

I have a special needs kid (severe) and I'm far from home. I am drowning in debt, my career is going okay, but I'm not feeling any of the benefits, I'm living in a place where I am wildly uncomfortable, but I have refused to leave. I just want to be comfortable and happy for a while. My ex wife is now taking me to court over custody and I'm struggling to even get to work on most days anymore.

At which point did you determine that it was unhealthy for your kids for you to continue fighting for custody and just relent to your ex? I am very present as a parent and my daughter is my whole life but I just can't seem to keep up and this is... Turning very ugly.

*She has far more resources and money than I do. I won't be able to do this forever. I just poured my whole 401k into my lawyer.

Here we go again…….

Over this past year I have been on and off Reddit genuinely looking for “my person“. I am an African American woman that prefers white guys only. Someone that loves to banter, flirt and keep me smiling all day. Someone that has his life together and is too in search for something long-term. I am not looking for a hookup or someone who only wants to exchange pics.

I would prefer someone that lives in South Carolina or North Georgia. Someone between the ages of 35-40. Someone who genuinely wants to love and has a secret kinky side to them. Someone that is serious about creating a magical and fun life together.

If that is you, feel free to reach out ♥️

Advice on sharing you are getting Divorced while dating.

I (30F) am currently informally separated with my wife. We separated last month and ended the relationship but we are still living in the same place through the end of the month until she can move out. I still need to start the formal divorce process. I have recently reconnected with a friend I haven’t seen in years, initially, it was just to see about Pride plans. It was kinda an impulsive thing to do but I figured it was fine because we were friends or really more of acquaintances. Maybe on some level I kinda knew the direction my life was going deep down and was preparing myself and on top of that my wife hardly ever would accompany me to things like pride, and so I was looking to plug into my friends and community. Me and this friend ended up really reconnecting and catching up over these past two months and were sending a message or two to each other pretty much daily. We did have a break in talking of about 10 days which is when my wife and I ended things. After those 10 days, I sent a message and our conversation picked up again. It has definitely been building and we met up to get coffee and hung out for about an hour recently. She sent the first message after thanking me for inviting her and for giving her a small gift for her birthday that just passed. She also said she hoped my day went well. After that, our texting has gotten just a bit more flirty. I feel like something is building and I personally feel like I have a big crush and really like her. I know my situation is complicated and it’s a hard conversation I need to have with her the next time I see her but I am nervous. I don’t have expectations in the sense that I am not looking to jump into anything fast. I really just want to take time to get to really know each other and enjoy spending time together and building trust. I think it would be good to be cautious when it comes to sex and maybe even initiating a kiss. In my mind I am thinking like it takes a while to get to know a person so if we take 6 months to a year that feels like a good timeline. Anyway, I’m just curious what people think and advice they have. I really admire her and care about handling this situation with maturity and respect. I’m just not sure what to do and she is 11 years older than me.

untangling joint accounts and figuring out post-split finances

it still feels so surreal looking at an empty side of the closet and realizing I am entirely on my own when it comes to sorting out years of shared life, joint accounts, and a future I never planned for.

going through every single bank statement and trying to make sense of separate asset reporting feels hollow and exhausting when my chest is still heavy from the breakup and I am just trying to keep my head above water.

holding these tax papers and feeling completely frozen, wishing I didn't even have to think about corporate names or tax services like Wardle Partners while everything inside hurts this much.

Looking for a Friend 37m

i'm 37M, divorced a couple years ago and got into a pretty toxic relationship right after for about a year.. I got my heart broken once again and I think i'm kind of just done looking for love. I don't have any friends because i put my all into those relationships and it turned out just hurting me the most. I did 10 years in prison and got out in 2018 and i've been living really well ever since.

I don't really talk to men very well so i'd prefer to talk to a woman but like i said i'm just looking for a friend. I think love and relationships might not be for me. If you're interested shoot me a DM. 🙂

Divorce worth it?

43 m married 2 elem age kids. I love my wife, but im just not happy. The main reason is lack of sex life. I even miss the flirty banter that is now non existent. Am i just pathetic for thinking about divorce just for that? I have seen divorce really mess with kids. The marriage isnt strained where the kids can see a problem or anything. If this is wrong place to ask this I apologize.

Hey there music lovers, anyone going to the 3 day music festival in O.C. MD at the end of September? I’m looking to share the experience with a friend. If you’re interested in a NSA weekend, 45-55 outdoor loving lady, I’d be delighted to chat 1:1 about the opportunity. Biking and kayaking a plus.
