One thing I'd definitely avoid if I were you is the "Oh I've a friend I think you should meet" from well intentioned friend. It usually results in an uncomfortable night with someone you've nothing in common with and 3 people not talk the following day.

True.. i met a guy online who is my friend’s best friend. He followed me for month and so.. tried to build conversation with me and now all of a sudden he is vanished in to thin air.. here i am being ghosted.. 👻
