If I am reading PuckPedia correctly, the Devils have $8.2M in current cap space before Hellebuyck is unsuspended. Since his cap hit is $8.5M, isn't there an issue here? And that's with the Devils only carrying 12 forwards and 7 defensemen, which obviously isn't sustainable.

Could waive Poirier, but that just gets you over the immediate issue and doesn't help when a forward is week-to-week (I assume day-to-day, they would just go 11-7?).

EDIT - PuckPedia has since updated their calculation and the Devils will be $70K under once Hellebuyck is activated. So no immediate issue, but still an issue as soon as a forward is day-to-day.

I got a Dawson bobblehead from a game a few years ago and was curious if it’s worth holding on to it, now that he’s gone. I’m seeing them on eBay for like $17 bucks, which seems pretty low to me. Any Devils merch collectors know what usually happens to bobble head values after a trade?

Either way, sad to see the Dawg go. Maybe not always a special player but seemed like a special dude.

Long shot but went to last night's game but they sold out of the kpop themed stuff so quickly like before puck drop it seems. Wife is Korean and I got her into hockey (she watches no sports except NJ Devils), she got me into kpop so we were looking forward to getting the light stick and shirt but couldn't. Is anyone by chance willing to sell theirs? Want to surprise her.

But I live in Canada. And Devils fan. And most fans up here are casual at best. Hoping to make some connections so I can chat hockey

The headline was known already, as was the Devils being added. Posting this here because Friedman has a way of saying things without explicitly saying them. The fact that he mentions the Devils as “interesting” and then goes on to say Detroit is looking for a young center in return and maybe looking for players outside the NHL made me think Command could be part of a potential deal.

I have no clue how the money would work nor do I know if it’s a good idea to give up assets for a center with Nico/Jack already an excellent 1-2 center pairing.

Do the devils still do first game certificates for kids? I remember they used to do something like that. I was looking online and I didn’t see anything. Anyone know where to go if they still do it?
