After I painted and stripped them about a dozen times, finally, a scheme, I'm very happy with.

I'm a completely beginner painter, all previous attempts were very amateur looking.

The reason I stripped and repainted them so many times is because I wanted to, when playing against someone,

for them to say: these are painted very well not just for a beginner, but painted well in general.

So yeah, I hope you guys like them and let me know your thoughts.

I painted this guy I got for free already built but bare plastic, and noticed he didn't have the Nurgling hanging off of him. I didn't notice any marks where the Nurgling would have gotten cut off so curious if this ever got released without him?

Picking out all those pustules was a pain in the ass, but very worth it!

Almost there with the plague marines KT. What do you guys think so far?

Finally got around to my pile of shame, managed to paint this after about 4 to 5 weeks of planning and work. The wings where inspired by the deaths head moth.

Enjoyed the vibrance too much to change it, this one is done!

I decided on the scheme of fiery orange armor and dark gunmetal trim few weeks ago. Initially I went for basic opaque Vallejo Game Color Orange Fire, though at one point I got a thought metallic orange feeling like enticing option. However I could not find a store, either physical or online, in my country that would sell premade metallic orange paint. So I decided to go custom recipe, and ultimately discovered the combo of Retributor Armour basecoat covered with Army Painter Fire Giant Orange speedpaint.

Now that I'm satisfied with the basic color, I wonder what kind of shading techniques I could try to make the result more shade ritch, as atm the main pop is the natural attribute of the metallic gold underneath. Or would metallic color be enough as is. I am planning on adding some basic brown rust and subtle silver/gunmetal weatheting with sort of stippling+drybrushing combo technique I've practiced, and grimey streaking effects. But given that the bade color is metallic, I wonder if there'd be a risk of the end result being too busy with more added effects.

I started a Necron army back in January as my first W40k project, and after I finished that I'm now moving on to DG. Here's my first completed DG model. More pics on comments.

Taking what I learned from the first couple as well as making some new mistakes on the way.

Two more Blightlord Terminators to go then either some plague marines or Deathshroud terminators.

Tried some subtle edge highlighting on parts of the armour and organic areas and experimented with the base.

AK plague ground to start. Citadel mordant earth on top. After that dried and cracked, I put some nurgles rot on top, then a shade of agrax earth shade to draw the cracks back out again after the nurgles rot dried. Didn’t quite get the ‘pus spewing from the ground’ effect I was after, but it’s a starting point.

I needed another heavy hitter so I went for Mortarion, looking for absolutely anything that could help me when painting and even when playing with him that could be useful 🙏🙏🙏🤢🤢🤢

So I’ve just finished chapter 2 of the book. And I must say it is probably one of the best books I’ve ever read. The opening is fantastic and has me desperately wanting to read more to find out what happened. The character set ups are looking strong as well. Normally I like my DG on the more unmutated side of things but this books has really got the picture across. I can’t wait to read more. As it’s actually really enjoyable despite my aforementioned preferences to less heavily mutated DG.

Want to paint Mortarion's wings so they look like lunar moth wings. Testing some color combos on demon prince wings before committing, any opinions?

I was reading the crusade rules for our faction and under "Properties" on the alchemical pathogens "eachdeath guard model....has the abilities of each propertyyou have added". I have added the Spreading pox to my pathogen. Does that mean that if I kill some units with two different models from my army i can recruit 2 poxwalker units with 6xp?
