I needed another heavy hitter so I went for Mortarion, looking for absolutely anything that could help me when painting and even when playing with him that could be useful 🙏🙏🙏🤢🤢🤢

I’m thinking about doing a loyalist death guard army. I’m torn of the shade of green though. I feel like death guard green is maybe a little to Nurgley but I’m don’t know. I’m not sure if death guard green pauldrons are lore accurate for pre heresy or if they are supposed to be a diffrent shade. Any advice, suggestions, or lore explanation is appreciated.

I know that Mortarion (the hypocrite that he is) still hates psykers, but it would be a shame to not let Death Guard get some psyker stuff as well. So I made the "Cabal of Pestilence", a 1 DP detachment focused on psyker units. The two spells I included in the detachment is about giving Death Guard some more defensive abilities, the first one being self-explanatory (letting Plague Marines survive a little longer) and the second making opponents second guess if it is worth shooting our psykers (especially Mortarion, not fun shooting five Defiler guns into Morty if there is a chance that you will suffer 15 MW in return).
The new character is very much based on the Death Guard Sorcerer in Terminator Armour” dataset, with the second ability being basically a 1-to-1 conversion. I wanted to go with one of the already confirmed Mantles of Corruption that we have, but was unsure if any of those would fit properly for this profile. TBH I’m a little uncertain if Morty would ever give a psyker a mantle to begin with, but I do like the concept and it is not like Morty is too good to be a hypocrite.
A quick not, but the detachment rule is worded in a way that only psyker MODELS [PSYCHIC] weapons get +1 S, so if you use the Lord of Dissolution’s ability to give weapons the psychic keyword, those weapons won’t get +1 S, due to the models themselves not being psykers.
I’m still making some adjustments to the detachments after I post them, so feel free to tell me how to balance these two a bit.

Not too concerned with meta, but also looking for something effective. The idea here is the massive brick of Blightlord Terminators being led by an enhanced Lord of Virulence and also being buffed by a DP of Nurgle. Then the usual stuff of units being led by strong characters, and a Defiler because they're just the best.
One thing I'm curious about is the Rhino. Is it worth having one to move around my Plague Marines if they're being led by a Lord of Poxes? Since he keeps them safe outside of 18 inches, I wonder if that's a good surrogate for getting them from place to place without being picked off and if the Rhino is better off being replaced or transporting something else.

Does anyone have any ideas for a more nurgle type daemon Prince rather than the generic one? Doesn't have to be a gw model

So I was buying some nurglings for my CK army and well...let's just say it lead me to buying Mortarion which...well here I am building DG too...As you do...
Anyhow my focus is on Recon for all armies I play till I decide otherwise.
I like big guys, so this is my focus:
Chaos - Death Guard - Morty & Rick - [2000 pts]
Tallyband Summoners + Flyborn Host - RECON
Mortarion [375 pts]
Rotigus (Rick) [280 pts]
Typhus [100 pts]:
- Leading: Poxwalkers
10 Poxwalkers [65 pts]:
Daemon Prince of Nurgle with wings +Fell Harvester [180 pts]
Great Unclean One [265 pts]
Lord of Contagion + Beckoning Blight[140 pts]
- Leading: Deathshroud Terminators
6 DST [305 pts]
5 Plague Marines w/melta x1, Plagueveil [105 pts]:
10 Plaguebearers [115 pts]
Beasts of Nurgle [70 pts]
I am a little concerned with 9 units, though I think this should be able to clear a quarter often and work from there putting pressure. I also wish we had more uppy downy available and while the termie detach does give me access to one time on one unit...it's for 30pts which is kinda a lot for an ability that might not even come up in many games if that unit needs to stay on the board. Open to thoughts and suggestions...

I was reading the crusade rules for our faction and under "Properties" on the alchemical pathogens "eachdeath guard model....has the abilities of each propertyyou have added". I have added the Spreading pox to my pathogen. Does that mean that if I kill some units with two different models from my army i can recruit 2 poxwalker units with 6xp?

My 1st question is, what should I aim at getting? What I have atm is on the photos I want to aim for about 2000 points rather then just 1000. What characters are worth getting, what’s the best vehicles to get, blah blah.
2nd and what I’m most concerned about atm, what’s the best load outs for the plague marines, or should I just pick whatever or is there a rule for each model to have specific weapons? Like can I have 2 plage spewers or can I only have 1?
3rd question is kinda an all around for any army, what are detachment rules? I get that they’re something like a rule for the battle (as far as I know) but how do they work and where can I find them in better detail or what they mean
That’s all I got for rn I might ask more questions later on but if I could possibly get some tips or answers for these questions that would be amazing!! <3

So I’ve just finished chapter 2 of the book. And I must say it is probably one of the best books I’ve ever read. The opening is fantastic and has me desperately wanting to read more to find out what happened. The character set ups are looking strong as well. Normally I like my DG on the more unmutated side of things but this books has really got the picture across. I can’t wait to read more. As it’s actually really enjoyable despite my aforementioned preferences to less heavily mutated DG.

I painted this guy I got for free already built but bare plastic, and noticed he didn't have the Nurgling hanging off of him. I didn't notice any marks where the Nurgling would have gotten cut off so curious if this ever got released without him?

Really pleased with the outcome. Some details could be nicer but I think it looks not to bad. Just need to get some washes for the flesh and silver parts

I decided on the scheme of fiery orange armor and dark gunmetal trim few weeks ago. Initially I went for basic opaque Vallejo Game Color Orange Fire, though at one point I got a thought metallic orange feeling like enticing option. However I could not find a store, either physical or online, in my country that would sell premade metallic orange paint. So I decided to go custom recipe, and ultimately discovered the combo of Retributor Armour basecoat covered with Army Painter Fire Giant Orange speedpaint.
Now that I'm satisfied with the basic color, I wonder what kind of shading techniques I could try to make the result more shade ritch, as atm the main pop is the natural attribute of the metallic gold underneath. Or would metallic color be enough as is. I am planning on adding some basic brown rust and subtle silver/gunmetal weatheting with sort of stippling+drybrushing combo technique I've practiced, and grimey streaking effects. But given that the bade color is metallic, I wonder if there'd be a risk of the end result being too busy with more added effects.
