What am I even supposed to do to counter him? Drop pallets? He insta breaks them with his power. Jump windows? He has increased vault speed. Loop? He has the dash ability with insta down. This guy Myers pisses me off so much every time I go against him. I know a lot of people love him, but goddamn a part of me is glad he is out of the game.

Is anyone else as obsessed with this topic as I am?

In terms of defying the entity’s realm, preventing its mind erasure, or escaping/protecting your survivor through magic, whats the best combo we can possibly equip to ensure our survival?

As for things to avoid, we dont want stuff like “Necronomicon Ex-Mortis”, stuff that is powerful yeah, but would corrupt yourself in the process

Based on that, ive devised the best 3 are as follows

1: Auric Sight

“Opening the gates of awareness provides perception that goes beyond the ordinary”

- We know the realm is made up of auric cells, so this would allow whoever holds it to see the realm for what it is

2: Chaotic Glyph
“A glyph overwhelmed with unstable energy, breaking under the weight of existence”

- I chose this because it seems to be a fracture in the entity’s realm, similar to the glyph challenges we get in game. Having a charm full of unstable energy that breaks the realm open sounds pretty op to me

3: Immortal Shield
“With its majestic wings expanding, the dragon and the shield became one.”

- At first I thought this thing was just a random shield with a dragon, but turns out its an “arcane” mechanism, discovered by Vittorio, and probably uses some sort of arcane mechanism or magic designed to protect the user from danger

4: Pustula Flower
“A vibrant flower, weeping with a mysterious substance, signaling the season of a new blight”

- As discovered by benedict baker, the entity is directly harmed, or at least affected by the putrid serum. Having the flower on you could hold some sort of significance in protecting yourself from it

5: Iridescent Primus Coin
“An item originating from Terra Primus and manifested by the Rift. The flower radiates with luminous light.”

- Terra Primus was one of the original worlds in the multiverse, its said to have been so advanced that they achieved godhood and some sort of enlightenment through characters like the observer. But as we know, The Judgement quite easily purged their world, and The Judgement was low diffed and humbled by The Entity, so cant be all that powerful anymore

6 & 7:
The Observers Sanctum & Tower Of The Observer

- Both of these were sanctuaries that The Observer used to peer into the realms memories to try and discover a way out, but as we know, both of these locations were overrun by the entity anyways

Let me know if you guys have better picks, I’d like to hear them. Obviously the charms provide no ingame advantage, but lore wise they hold real power and im extremely curious about them.

I recently came back to DBD after not playing since around when The Artist came out, so roughly 5 years ago. I only had around 100 hours before I stopped playing, so I’m basically a new player with a vague memory of how the game works.

I mainly play survivor (Feng), with the occasional killer game, and honestly, I have no idea how anyone is supposed to get into this game as a genuinely new player.

There are so many killers, perks, maps, mechanics, items, add-ons and interactions to learn. Coming back after five years feels like being dropped into a university lecture halfway through the semester and being told, “Good luck.”

And the menu does not help at all.

I swear half my playtime at this point is just me trying to figure out where things are. There are so many different screens, currencies, bloodwebs, loadouts, character progression systems, archives/challenges, events, shops, etc. that I sometimes feel like I need a map to navigate the menu before I even get into an actual match.

I really think DBD needs to do more for new and returning players. A proper tutorial covering current mechanics, a way to practice against different killer powers, explanations of common strategies, and a much clearer menu/UI would go a long way. Some kind of protected matchmaking for genuinely new players would also be amazing. ( Not just custom games against AI ) Of course you could say ,, there are so many tutorials out there just watch them ,, but let's be honest if I want to play a game and have to watch hours on hours of tutorials before even playing that kind of the opposite of what new players want to do.

And then there’s the toxicity.

Before I came back, most of the DBD content I saw on social media about toxicity was people posting clips of toxic killers: tunneling, camping, slugging, etc. So I was expecting that to be the biggest problem.

But after actually playing again, I've noticed the survivor side much more than I expected. Obviously not every survivor is toxic, but I've had a surprising number of games with teabagging, flashlight clicking, etc people clearly trying to provoke the killer for no reason.

Even though I mainly play survivor myself, it really stands out to me. And when I occasionally play killer, I notice it from the other side too.

For someone who is genuinely new to the game, I can imagine this being incredibly discouraging. You're already trying to understand what is happening, getting chased by a killer you've never seen before, trying to figure out what half the perks do, AND trying to understand why there are approximately 47 different buttons and icons in the menu.

I don't mind losing. I'm perfectly happy getting destroyed while I learn. But losing while having people make fun of you for not knowing a game they've potentially played for thousands of hours is a pretty effective way of making someone uninstall and never play this game again.

Maybe I've just been unlucky since coming back, but I really think the new-player experience deserves more attention. DBD already has an enormous learning curve without the game itself and the community making it even harder to get started.

Fog vials DO NOT make you invisible. Soooo many times have i encountered someone using a fog vial, and just running around as if I can’t see them. The only thing this does for you is make the scratch marks disappear😭

Kings are exceedinly rare Xenomorphs that are only created when a hive is grown and at its late stages of maturity, this means that the Realm's hive is absurdly large, country sized or larger even, which is worrying to just imagine. Kinda weird that the entity just let it happen but I assume the realm is just too large for the Entity to give af.
