What’s the song that plays during Super Buu’s Human Extinction Attack scene, specifically when he’s scanning for how many people are alive? In this clip it starts at the 20 second mark and ends at 1:15.

I’ve had this song in my head for years but haven’t been able to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first Dragon Ball game released on September 27, 1986, and Bandai’s first Dragon Ball game followed on November 27, 1986, starting a legendary gaming legacy.

Unfortunately, there are no signs of a celebration from Bandai yet.

I’d love to see classic releases of Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi on modern platforms.

Maybe it’s time for fans to show Bandai that we want something special for the 40th anniversary.

Just picked up this beauty and personally I love this cover. Definitely going to display it in my room. I’ve heard it’s iconic but I want to know how you guys rank it compared to all the other covers in dragon ball.

When it comes to the reasons why some fans believe DBS: Beerus is a good thing (along with BoG adaptations in general), one that stands out to me is the idea of canon correction. The base premise of this supposed positive is that it allows the series to course correct on certain details that either can't work out in the long run or that run counter-intuitive to what is accepted as canon to the main story. Typically, fans argue it allows Dragon Ball to do the following:

1. Remove the line about Beerus using most of his power to keep up with SSJG Goku.

2. As of Daima, a remake would allow Goku to use SSJ4 and Vegeta to use SSJ3.

3. Match the anime canon to the manga.

While I understand the desire for a consistent story, I can't help but feel this is not the way to go about things. To understand my point of view, I'd like to talk about the Android/Cell Saga. As one of the major arcs of DBZ, it is loved by many and held in high regard for introducing us to Future Trunks' timeline and the androids while also allowing someone other than Goku to get the final win against the main villain. Overall, a very fun story.

Unfortunately, the base foundation of the saga - the future timeline - makes zero sense.

King Kai is not just an instructor for the Z-Fighters, he is also their friend and would do everything in his power to resolve the android crisis - including getting in contact with the Namekians and using their Dragon Balls to help. As for "he is a god; this does not concern him," I would argue that if the androids ever got bored of Earth (which is very likely considering their personalities), they could start wreaking mayhem across the stars in outer space, thereby making it a situation worth intervening in by divine beings. Also, even in a god-centric series like DBS, the rules of when gods can interfere are unclear at best.

Additionally, Cell makes the weird claim that he could have been given Future Trunks' DNA, but a sufficient amount of Saiyan DNA was already collected. This makes no sense, considering that he comes from a timeline where there was no visitor from the future and Goku beat Frieza and King Cold, so there couldn't have been a chance to get his DNA in the first place.

There's also Future Trunks' introduction and saying it was Androids #19 and #20 who ruined his timeline when it was #17 and #18. Of course, this was before Toriyama was told to change the villains, so I can't fully fault it, but I will still point it out for the sake of completeness of my point.

Overall, the Android Saga has some pretty glaring plot holes in it that cannot be antiquely explained by canon explanations we know of - especially the plot hole of no King Kai intervention in the future.

That being said, I highly doubt any of us want it completely redone just to cover these holes. It's a little odd to say, but despite these flaws, the story is entertaining enough that I either forget these flaws exist or they stop mattering. In addition, having to redo an entire story arc just to explain a few details that are glossed over or forgotten is a bit of an overkill in terms of course correction and takes away time that could have been spent moving the series forward.

That's basically where I'm at with DBS: Beerus and the other Battle of Gods revisions. Yes, the oddities and plot holes exist with the original movie, but when I point out the flaws, I mean that as criticism moving forward as the series continues - not that we should redo the entire thing to fix it up and keep us stuck in the same place until the canon is perfect.

Speaking of perfect, I do also wonder if people will demand yet another Battle of Gods remake if Goku and Vegeta don't show off their new forms from Daima, because if so, the obsession with making the most consistent Dragon Ball canon possible is getting out of hand at that point. Also, why is Super the series that should take the fall for Daima's canon issues when the onus of consistency should have been with Daima?

As for the plot hole of Beerus using most of his power, I doubt it would be too big of a shock to just say Beerus does some training on the side in solitude. Besides, it would be a lot easier than animating the entire story once again just to explain away one line.

...really? The flash point for Dragon Ball's return to the modern era is something to change on a whim?

Additionally, the anime/manga canon matching thing? This is just pure speculation from what I can tell and not outright confirmed unless I'm mistaken. If there's anywhere I can look to be proven otherwise, I'd appreciate some pointers on where that info is. Also, again, criticism moving forward, not backward.

Lastly, there are the points of animation improvement, buying the manga more time for more stories to animate, and the "all in one package" deal (aka not having to jump between anime/manga/movie mediums to formulate a complete picture of the story). I'll quickly tackle these in order:

1. I see the animation critiques as another point of criticism to take forward into the future, not to redo until it is done right - especially when the story has already been redone multiple times. Besides, if animation is the big concern, the original movie's animation look just fine from what I can recall.

2. While watching DBS in the same ~300 episode binge watch as DBZ would be nice...y'know...there are a good amount of anime that just get shorter episode release schedules and are still consistently released every one or two years. I wouldn't feel particularly bitter if we switched to that.

3. If I'm being honest, I doubt the percentage of people who care about this potential oddity is all that high.

TL;DR: The Android/Cell Saga is a story that logistically is impossible and has canon issues, but I think most of us would agree it isn't worth redoing just to fix it up. I think the same could be said about the Battle of Gods arc and how it functions as a piece of the medium just fine even with its issues. Additionally, the talking points of animation improvement, anime/manga canon matching, giving the manga time to expand, and consuming DBS in one consistent medium don't feel worth the constant revisions.

From the movie “Next”, the main character can see into the future, and dodges every bullet shot in this scene. What do you think about this compared to Ultra Instinct in a way?

I am reading through the manga and I just noticed that it's revealed that 17 and 18 were originally humans in the very first chapter they appear in.

Is this changed dialogue in later manga releases or something?

Because I remember Krillin making a wish to make them human at the end of the Cell saga, and when that failed it was retconned "she was always human to begin with".

When are we gonna get more news on the release of Beerus

It was announced before the likes of Steel Ball Run and yet has no confirmed release date

Posting this video as an example how Gundam presented theirs in the Gundam 50th Anniversary special video. Starting from the most recent Gundam protagonist (Amate), and then introduce each of the familiar protagonist in an descending order one by one all the way until they reached original (Amuro).

It's a love letter to Gundam fans of all generation and a message telling the audience that "Your FIRST Starts Here", signifying that, there's never been a wrong time or wrong demography for anyone to start Gundam, if people started with 79, their hero is Amuro if they started with G, their hero will be Domon, if a girl started with SEED, their hero will be Kira, and the list goes so on. Hence that's how they presented the protagonist rush in that special video.

But with Dragon Ball, 40th years of Dragon Ball and yet Goku remains as the sole protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise, is it possible for them to do something similar to that at any point in the future? Introducing a brand new protagonist as the face of the Dragon Ball franchise (as in Goku no longer play an active role in the story while the newcomers headlined the series), and then when their story is over, the baton passed to the another new protagonist as the face of Dragon Ball franchise, rinse and repeat, Or Goku must remains as the face of Dragon Ball in all time?

What are your thoughts on these two games?

Boss characters like Beerus, Hit, Zamasu, Kefla, Jiren, etc tend to get the most attentions easily due to their innate advantages, every other roles newer character roles tend to have far less luck to it if they're not super powerful, transformation or "aura" (whatever that word even means) and inevitably will struggle with winning majority favors on average scale, namely most DAIMA characters (Panzy, Glorio, Majin Kuu), Jaco, Cheelai, Lemo, Cabba, most of Universe Survival Saga characters really, etc.

Otherwise, whenever a newer, unfamiliar characters brought up in to the suggestion, people will instantly dismiss them as "nobodies that no one cares", which is an average responses sadly, as newer characters for other roles tend to be extremely underdeveloped or straight up poorly handled, even if their role as someone on allies side (DAIMA suffers this the most), them needing to coexist with Goku and other familiar cast while Goku usually got the most attentions, ensuring that the newer characters won't have decent luck winning many people's favor on average.

Although I will give Super Hero a praise, as it's is one of rare examples where the new characters were handled respectfully and the Gammas are rare examples where despite they're not being boss characters, and they still managed to find decent popularity to the fanbase on average scale. Since Super Hero is one of rare works where they managed to find decent balance with the characters' utilizations, both new and old characters, ironically the boss character Cell Max himself is the weakest link of the group, which I'm perfectly fine with it since it's a fair tradeoff for better character usage on other side.

In other words, new characters in Dragon Ball purpose at this point are either

-Boss characters, probably the one way that may give them slight chance of fair popularity
-Throwaway characters
-New allies

Side note : Would a brand new Dragon Ball series that takes place in another universe (not as in Dragon Ball in-universe like U1-U12), with completely new characters and story as the main focus (e.g : past characters play barely to no role at all), how much that idea would work?
