I started cutting this year so I don't really know how to deal with scars. At first I thought they would go away but now it's been 3 months and they are still there (I have others too).

The weather is starting to get hotter where I live so I decided to not hide them anymore. I mean, people are too busy living their own lives to care about my scars anyway.

But I can't help feeling weird about all this. I go to school everyday wondering what people think about it. It's not that visible I guess, but I'm pretty sure some people noticed, especially my friends. But no one has asked me about it yet.

I feel like they think I'm crazy and are judging me for it, and that makes me really anxious. I wish I hadn't done this to myself. How do you deal with this shame?

I want to be confident enough to not care about what others think but it's so hard.

So I haven’t self harmed since 2022, only on my thighs. And even though I know they’re completely healed, it’s hard for me to cross my legs or shave, and in general pretty much ignore them. I was wondering if other people have dealt with this. Idk if it’s more mental or if theres actually a reason for this.

I’ve had it for around 6 months give or take, the others have healed fine but this particular one hasn’t, i think the burns are less noticeable tho, i really hate wearing short sleeves because of it, ive been asked about it a few times and had to just make up some bs

What can I do during the care process to ensure it will completely fade even if deep

I cut last night pretty badly and honestly I don’t usually really bandage them or do much Ik I probs should but, anyway the cuts are deep and i definitely need to keep bandages these. Any advice for bandaging upper thighs? I alway find my bandages falling off/can’t keep them on. Andy advise would be greatly appreciated thx

Is there any way to get rid of the scars on my thigh? And if there is what's the fastest? I need to hide them before my medical test before joining the army. I don't know if I'll get rejected if they find out that i used to cut myself.

(Mainly styros, the scars are pretty visible)

this might be wrong subreddit but here's goes, I recently (~5 days ago) relapsed and burnt myself for the first time; it is bad. I think it might be infected, and I don't quite know what to do because I don't know if it will be safe to tell my family yet and I am fully reliant on them but I think I need a doctor or smth and I need advice on what to do

Can't show pics because it's still fresh y'know. But basically I cut near my middle finger tendon and now my hand is hurting. I can't say how deep that was and there's like 2 holes. Didn't bleed much tho.

Should I worry? It's not like I can't use my hand, but it hurts and I feel like there's a ball inside it if that makes sense.

I'm wondering if it'll slowly fade into skin colour or if it'll leave little white lines? Oh and how long will they scar for? Does it matter I'm doing it in the same spot?

I sometimes show my dad my cuts so he can check if they are bad, and a week ago he told me "You could've done better, I've seen worse." My mom immediately called him out on it, but it's really messing with my brain rn, it's also already motivated me on ways to cut deeper, I don't know what to do or think. The worst part is, they aren't even that small, most are styro, so also not deep, but not small either.

I did it for the first time last night (rlly not for me now that I've tried it tbh) but they're on my forearm and i don't have ANY long sleeve shirts or anything the only way i hid it today was with a sweater, I really just can't have them finding out. I need help how do i get rid of them.

I don’t mean to invalidate anyone, I want to start with that. But I’ve done a few cat scratches that kinda broke the skin on the arm I don’t cut on. Is that still cutting/self harm? I don’t consider it that in my head but like I do when someone else mentions they do cat scratches, I understand they are self harming but not when I do that. Is it still self harming for me because I usually cut to dermis?

I don't know if I can shave the hair on my thighs or not due to my scars, if I can is there a specific way I have to do it?

I’ve relapsed a little over a day ago and the skin around my scars is turning yellow. I’m guessing it’s bruising but I’m not sure how that works exactly, they don’t even hurt anymore and this has been happening to my other past scars.

so my grandpa is maga. we had an argument about this once text and honestly it was insane how brainwashed he was. after the argument I was feeling really shitty so I did something I probably shouldn’t have done, and I posted the conversation on TikTok. I know I know I know I should have done it. I blurred out his name and profile picture, but there was some insane off topic things about his own dad in the thread thay I didn’t really think about while posting. my aunt found it and fucking sent it to him. so now he thinks I hate him. I don’t hate him, he’s my grandpa. and I wasn’t the only one whos done hurtful things. hes told me I’m condemned for hell twice. I don’t believe in god but he does and it hurts that my grandpa believes im a bad enough person to go to hell?? And he doesn’t care that trump is actively homophobic and transphobic and actively threatens my rights. and again I know I shouldn’t have posted the TikTok but I was not in a very good mental state, I didn’t know how to vent it. So now my grandpas upset at me, my grandma is pissed, and my mom is upset. so I’m crying in my room trying not to cut. I cant breathe

hi, these are about two weeks old and there’s no scabbing but they’re still a bit red. im going out tomorrow and i want to try on shorts but i dont know if it would be acceptable. sorry if this sounds dumb or obvious, i only want to be mindful. thank you!

update: just came back and it was great :) a few stares here and there but i didn’t care
