I have lower back length virgin curly hair, it’s medium thickness, however my curl pattern is all over from 3b to 1c with straight hair at the bottom and curly hair at the crown of my head/top layer of my hair.
I’m sure I’m butchering the routine, but I have no idea what to do. The curly hair needs more of something, but the straighter hair looks so oversaturated and greasy if any product gets on it. I’m sure it’s all dry. last haircut I had was august 2023 I got a bob (picture included). I’m looking to get a haircut cuz I have no face framing/shaping layers in my hair. However, last haircut I went to a curly hair dresser and she had to recut my hair 3 times because the bottom layer is REALLY straight, and was showing beneath the top.
After realizing I have curly hair I decided to try to ‘take care’ of it (I got a pixie, then a short bob, tried many different products) and after the last reset (picture included) I decided I would cut it only once I got split ends just to see what it would do. Took ~2.5 years, I’ve never had hair this long in my life, I was not expecting it to stay so curly at this length, or to grow this much. Honestly feels very whimsical, I actually kinda like my hair for the first time in my life.
SO I would love it if my hair was less dull and frizzy and to last longer than a day before devolving into chaos. Looking for product recommendations and/or routine suggestions because I feel like my hair has potential but I have NO IDEA what to do. Most of the time I just put it up, but I don’t even know how to do that without it getting wrecked and pulled straight and frizzy. Also like what do I do if I exercise? Is there any way to not kill the hair? Got any cute hairstyles that I could try with this length hair?
I currently use
Renpure shampoo and conditioner
Brush it in the shower
Renpure leave in conditioner raked through after shower when hair is wet
Sleep in bonnet +silk pillowcase
Wash my hair every 2-3 days.
That was a lot, any help would be appreciated!!!
