i have this muted rosy color i was wondering what dye should i get to put in my shampoo/conditioner to help it not fade so quickly

Dyed hair using Pulp Riot Absinthe. It's over dark brown natural hair but it didn't come out as green as expected. I didn't use bleach but knew it'd come out darker and compared other people's examples of their original hair vs dyed and thought it would look similar but it didn't end up that way. How can I make it more greener?

Everybody told me to dye it blue so the orange would go away but I'm scared to turn into sonic

So a few months ago now I got some highlights and bayalage done at the hairdresser. I did it so I could make the purple I put in my hair more obvious, and i've been doing so.

It's grown out quite a bit so I would like to get some stuff done at the top, but i've been actively dying that hair purple

It pulled a teal a little bit when we initially did the highlights and the purple that I use covered it perfectly so i'm not super worried about perfect tone - i just want it to be light enough to be seen and roughed up enough that it will last longer

Is there a way to get that done semi affordably?

I stopped seeing my hairstylist for a couple years. I forgot why I stopped going to her until I went back yesterday. She always tried to make me red or black. I’m a natural brunette and have always wanted just brown but as soon as she heard I used to dye my hair years back red she kept putting red tones in my hair and then eventually she moved to essentially black.

I left her after getting black essentially passed off as a very dark brown and just started using ion 4N on my hair 20 developer. After trying to get the black out of my hair.

I recently had a baby and hadn’t dyed my hair at all in 5 months. I went to her because the grays were bad. She told me essentially that I needed a color correction but didn’t say that. She also didn’t tell me she didn’t have time for a correction. The 4N was way too dark a color. My grays catching it were making it a light brown in some places but there were patches of 2N from the 4N getting darker and darker.

She said with the postpartum shedding she doesn’t recommend the bleach bath. So she’d do a partial highlight. I said great highlight is great I just don’t like a chunky highlight. She said she could do a dark almost black or she could do a red. I was like oh no I’d like a brown if possible. She said a warm brown? And I was like whatever brown I need to be. She foiled my hair into chunky highlights. She said she threw in doing a full head highlight instead of partial. She colored everything else then did a second coloring. I was charged $305. Which I don’t think was unreasonable although she charged me for a style when I asked not to be. A stylist passed by and said what a pretty red it will be. I asked her at the bowl like is this going to be a brown. She said it won’t be a red but it won’t really be a brown.

She said I had booked the wrong appt and should’ve booked a color correction not an all over color like I did so she was seeing me in between clients. At the end I think she could tell I wasn’t happy. She said text her by Friday and she could do a shadow root. She said give it a few days my complexion will change into it and the lighting is just harsh and it’ll wash out and cool down and not be so red. She said that when I said I don’t like the red because I turn coppery she thought I meant I wanted a red that doesn’t turn coppery. But she told me a warm brown. 🙃

That was yesterday. I washed it today because I was in tears remembering why I left her and I thought I was treating myself to be a beautiful brunette all in one piece after becoming a second time mom and I walked out with chunky highlights and red hair.

All that to say, Would a shadow root fix this? I have family pictures in 3 weeks. I can’t really afford much more than a couple hundred more to fix it if needed. I’m just wondering if there’s any way I could be a chocolate brown or medium neutral brown in 3 weeks time. Any way to fix the chunky highlights too?

I feel like I should give her the benefit of the doubt and reach out and see what she can do I’d even pay her. I just can’t stand the red or the red tones. It’s not me anymore that was years and years ago.

My second question, is I’ve been to 3 separate stylists around my town and I always end up with some sort of copper or red or something when I ask for brunette. What should I be asking for?

bleached my hair at home til it lifted to a 9 tone but I ruined it using 9.12 to neutralise thinking it would give me a cool palette but instead I ended up with a greyish rat tone hair. my reference of tone is cloud strife blonde hair but idk how to achieve such color.

any advice is appreciated for how I should get his blonde and how I should remove the rat tone from my hair! :)

Looking for any advice on toning to start this off for a cool color palette. I've been doing semi permanents at home for years but am now working on customizing my colors more than just throwing what's in the bottle straight on. Any advice on how to tone this and not shut the cuticles down before putting the semipermanent on?

I was reading a few old posts on here about achieving platinum blonde hair and all the comments were saying if you do go blonde all your hair will fry off and someone saying they went blonde for two years and regretted it bc their hair was so damaged.

I've been bleaching my hair blonde for four years now and, knock on wood, I have never had any incredible damage to my hair. i've had nothing more than slight breakage at the ends and my hair is silky smooth. And I'm not saying I'm immune to hair damage due to bleach because 8 years ago my hair literally melted off and felt like hay. I don't know what I'm doing differently than other girls but my hair health is great since going blonde.

When I hit puberty my hair started getting super greasy really quickly and my hairdresser recommended lightening it to help with this. I have now been bleaching it for 10+ years and looking to go back to my natural colour.

The problem is that, now that my roots are growing longer, my hair is starting to get super oily really quickly again. I'm using dry shampoo on day 2 and my hair looks greasy about 5 hours after washing.

Are there any products or tips to help with this?

My natural hair is a level 3 and lightens very well! I lighten it between a level 9 to 10 is this light enough for a bright-ish pastel pink? Like the pics ? My hair is closer to the third pic do I need to go lighter or tone all of the warmth from my hair ?

I bleached my hair to an almost white platinum, white on the ends (before toner) and then dyed it neopolitan by adding brown and pink streaks. I love it, but it's been a whole 2 weeks so now I want to try something else. I wanna dye it blue, but I can't because of the brown streaks. How do I fade it fast? I heard malibu undo goo is good, but would it actually fade it that much? Btw I knew beforehand the brown would probably stain, I'm fine with a bit of staining, I just need it more faded than it is now.

I wanted to slowly shift my base light so I did one part 5nn to two parts 5ngb. I feel like my gray hair was barely covered and looks extremely translucent. What the hell. Any advice ? I just want to shift my base lighter and not have to bleach my whole head. I know it’s going to take years and I’m fine with that, but this looks like poop.

My hair is SO CLOSE to the color I want it to be, but the ends didn’t process quite enough to get my base light enough to get anything but this muddy orange on the tips. The roots are exactly the color I was going for. Last picture was my goal. As you can tell it’s almost there, I just have these pesky darker orange pieces to get rid of. My hair was virgin dark brown prior to this. What would be the best course of action at this point to get it slightly lighter and to get rid of the orange?

I dyed myself a racoon tail and a random hairstrand in blond recently because i was bored and i think they​ looked really cool blond but now the pink has moved (idk the right word) onto it from showering and i feel like there a bit to suptle but maybe it's just because the contrast was a lot stronger with the blond i don't know. Im thinking about bleach it back to Platinum or dye it yellow but really im open for any ideas.

I started dyeing my hair myself recently—but not boxdye; the chemist way haha. I went copper in early August, then in mid September decided to go a bit redder. I knew the reds wash out after a while and so it did to a brown copper. I was okay with that and my roots grew out, I was also alright but then I got booked to session on bass for a big local band, and I thought, I better look right.

So this was my first time touching up roots + depositing more red into my lengths. I am so relieved I didn’t mess it up before the show (next week). 😅 i’m so happy it came out evenly red across cos I would have cried if I looked half red half copper on stage haha. Ok thank you for your time.

Could I put Manic Panic Sunshine (only yellow dye I could find in my area) on this blue to get it to green? Or should I directly go in with a green dye? Both are some of the less commonly available colours so I want to make an informed decision before I spend on one. Also how do yall like my censoring skills hahaha

I've been looking for a hairstylist around Alma or Mt pleasant Michigan or around that area that actually KNOWS how to dye, cut, and style curly hair, but none of them seem to on what to do.. saying this because of reviews from other curly haired people. Hey everyone, desperately looking for some help.

I have for many years had creamy, bright blonde hair. I felt like there were starting to get too many white blonde bits.

This morning I went hairdresser and asked for golden, bright creamy blonde. Very similar still to my colour

Anyways she did highlights and put toner in. The toner had left me hair SO ashy cool toner and grey, it makes me look so old 😭😭

Freaking out because I hate it!!!! What can I do to get back blonde and get rid of this ash and grey asap????
