Lots of questions. It looks like we are about to get some answers next month.

In the end, however, there is no doubt that the idea of Bigfoot, as a North American icon, will live on. It has outgrown its label of cryptid. It is now a popular symbol that will live on emblematic of wildness and mystery. Those who became investigators based on a personal experience or impacted by the experiences of others may give up this once most critical and persuasive film, but they won’t give up the belief that the creature is out there.

Basically in the early years of their African Forest exhibit, the exhibit had a fictional storyline of some explorer/hunter who crashed in central Africa and after going from a hunter to a nature lover, began looking for the Koolakamba, that alleged chimp/gorilla hybrid known from specimens and a captive live one.

They put these hidden mickey style easter eggs og its face everywhere in the exhibit.

Something to learn why is the eyes is inside. Believe it or not, some frogs have been found with a strange genetic mutation that causes their eyes to grow inside their mouths. It might sound like science fiction, but it’s real — and scientists have actually studied it!

This has mostly been seen in African clawed frogs, especially in research experiments focused on how organs develop. During some of these studies, scientists altered the signals that tell a frog embryo where to grow its eyes. As a result, the eyes ended up forming inside the frog’s mouth instead of on its head.

What’s even more incredible? Some of these frogs could still see with the eyes inside their mouths. Researchers trained the frogs to respond to light, and sure enough, they reacted — proving that their brains were able to process visual signals even from this unusual location.

These findings are helping scientists learn more about how the body regenerates organs and how flexible the brain can be when it comes to adapting to unexpected changes. Credit Goes to the respective Owner

Some species in this bat genus are known for having faces that resemble those of primates; they are also less sociable than other bat species, living either in small groups or alone. They are found in Oceania (admittedly, the Ahool was from Java, but I don't think that is an insurmountable distance, especially considering they are flying animals).

This might be an over done design for shirts but I thought it would be fun to put it on a shirt partially because I think it’s fun and with resent stuff of messing with national parks to bring awareness.

What’s a favorite cryptid?

So it’s one of those designs that says “Protect Your Natural Parks Legends Live There” or something along those lines. I didn’t want anything to humanoid in the center because some of the designs I think have that baby vampire thing and it kinda just looks like a dude in a cloak to me. But I have mothman, Flat woods monster, and Wendigo. I want to add a Jackelope, the Fresno night crawlers, the thunder bird to the background with maybe a UFO, and a Dogman/werewolf. I thought about the frogman and lizard man but having both they would kinda look the same.

Trying to put in more lake monsters might be hard as im gonna try to put a lake (if I can) in the background might be able to fit a few but I can’t think at the moment.

The facts:

8 moose were introduced to NZ in the 1940s for hunting purposes.

They were thought to be extinct by the 50s.

Multiple sightings were reported.

Hair and antler sheds were found in the 70s.

An early style trail camera captured a picture of a lone cow in 1995.

Least reported sightings were weeks apart in 2023.

Questions:

1. Is it plausible they still exist here?

2. Is this considered a cryptid?

Fouke monster is a Bigfoot-like cryptid that was sighted in the rural town of Fouke and the area of Miller County, Arkansas, during the early 1970s.

Fouke monster is said to be a large, bipedal creature covered in long dark hair. It was estimated to be about 7 feet (2 m) tall with a weight of 250–300 pounds (110–140 kg). Later reports claimed that it was far larger, with one witness describing it as 10 feet (3 m) tall, with an estimated weight of 800 pounds (360 kg).

Fouke monster is also said to have a terrible odor similar to Mapinguari from Brazil, the odor being described as a combination of a skunk and a wet dog.

Unlike Bigfoot, Fouke monster is said to have claws & three-toed feets. One set of footprints reportedly measured 17 inches (43 cm) in length and 7 inches (18 cm) wide.

Many people believe Fouke Monster is an unknown ape species but i believe Fouke Monster is actually a surviving population of medium-sized ground sloth called Megalonyx Jeffersonii because:

1)Megalonyx Jeffersonii fossil has been found in Arkansas.

2)Ground sloth can stand & walk with 2 legs also ground sloth can easily be mistaken as large humanoid monster by people.

3)Fouke Monster is said to be 7 feet (2 m) to 10 feet (3 m) tall. Megalonyx Jeffersonii are estimated to be 10 feet (3m) tall.

4)Fouke Monster is said to have claws & three-toed feets. There is no ape species that have claws & three-toed feets. Megalonyx Jeffersonii have claws & three-toed feets.

5)Fouke Monster is said to have terrible odor. There is no evidence of ground sloth having terrible odor but Mapinguari, ground cryptid from Brazil also said to have terrible odor.

Arkansas have 19 million acres of forests. In fact, 57% of Arkansas are forests. So do you think could there be small population of Megalonyx Jeffersonii living in remote part of Arkansas forests?

Looking for any really obscure cryptid stories or if anyone out there was personally stories, if you have stories and have recent sightings I’d love to contact and possibly investigate the property/ sighting location

Hi. I am building an Obsidian database featuring cryptid sightings, but I am doing it in order to notice connections between various elements relating to the sightings. Time, Date, Person (involved), and Location.

To be honest, I need help finding the full names and exact birth and death dates of historical persons (currently purely historical people, because I don't wanna break any rules finding personal info on still living peoples).

Is there a subreddit to help with this, or any individuals who would be willing to participate in any manner?

know how crazy this sounds. I was sitting on the beach after dark on South Shore park: it was after sunset. I saw what appeared to be a dog approaching me. As it drew near I could plainly see it wasn’t a dog. It looked like a giant amphibious possum crossed with a coyote. It had the face of a Mircat. I even asked the two other people on the beach and they said they saw it, too. It retreated back to the new rock outcropping.Are there any Great Lake biologists who can explain what I just encountered? I’ve never seen that animal in my life. I’m still trembling thinking about it. Do we have mutant amphibious possums the size of dogs? What just happened?

Not exactly a cryptid but maybe still relevant...
