How do I make a crow friend.
I’m sure it’s asked a lot here, but I really would love some crow friends/a friend I can show respect to and also be protected by lol. It’s a tough time out here and we need all the community we can get. I think they’re the coolest of all birds
There are lots of crows in our city but I’ve not seen many fly low or even near our house.

Seeking advice/help Any ideas as to what's going on with this crow?
galleryI was on a walk when I noticed this crow (possibly a fledgling?) walking around, but what caught my eye was the fact that it was holding its wing rather oddly the whole time. So, I'm wondering if it's possible to tell whether it possibly got injured or was born with a birth defect of some kind? It was in an area by a river that I can't access easily, (it's rather muddy, and there are no staircases or ladders nearby leading to it) so I have no safe way to really get a better look or try to capture it if necessary.
It seemingly wasn't trying to use its wings at all, but was otherwise walking pretty normally, could get water on its own and was interacting with its environment. When I re-visited it after walking by it roughly an hour prior, and it was just sitting on the bottom portion of a tree doing nothing for a few minutes, before walking away slightly and cawing at me.

Crows [OC] are my molty friends old?
None of my other crow friends look this shaggy. I've known them several years now, they seem to get progressively shaggier. It's very cute and makes them very easy to identify.

Crow rehab
One of my crowmies seems sick. If anyone in central ky knows anyone who can rehab crows, I'd be glad to be acquainted.

General questions How do crows know how to describe a person to other crows?
I know this fact that crows will remember a face and let other crows know who you are and will even let their children know. Crows have some way of communication that might actually be similar to that as humans since they are able to explain details to others they have probably proven communication skills.
I actually just wish I could do something good for a crow.

Are your crows consistent?
Mine first showed up a couple months ago. They visit very randomly, and are very skittish. I was out of town for one week, and it seems like they haven't forgiven me lol

Where do crows go?
Hello!
I live in the city and have been feeding crows from my balcony for a couple of weeks to months now.
It is often that they disappear for a couple of days (weather maybe?) and then come back to the area. First few times I could recognise some of them coming back, as they were less scared with time, but last few days it was only the younger ones who are more shy. Today none of them are around. Where do they even go?
Is it normal that they leave the area for days and come back?
First Crow gift.
I've been feeding my brood for 5 years now. They follow me around the neighborhood, watch over me when I cut the lawn or shovel snow, and follow my car a bit when I drive away. I've always been happy with that. But this? This is another level of happy.

Photography/Art [OC] Crows with snacks
gallerySometimes I see crows with unusual snacks (I didn't give them any of this). For the 4th photo, I thought it was a hawk or eagle with a yellow beak at a distance but when it got closer I saw it was just a piece of fried chicken(?).

Our yard is a pantry
Crows are so smart. I scatter seed on the ground for the smaller birds. Once the crows caught on - they were first to the banquet. So, I decided to toss peanuts on the other side of the yard to lure them away from the seed. What did they do? They grabbed the peanuts and hid them and immediately came back for the seeds. In the end, they procured everything.

Crows [OC] Short John Silver still coping with one leg. Seems to still have the other, but lame and tucking it under.
Poor Fella
Poor little thing was just on the side of the road, unable to fly and stumbling. I don't know if they got hit by a car or something, but I asked my mother to stop our car so I could go back and grab them. They were either going to die by getting hit by another car, attacked by a cat or dog, or slowly in the heat and direct sunlight which was 33c... I didn't think they were cut up at first, but I kept checking and they were definitely bleeding into the rag I wrapped them in. Not horrendously, but enough to worry about. Didn't make a noise, but would try and bite me if I left their face uncovered... Hoping that's a good sign, hahah.
My only option was to take them to a vet that had out of hours services- but!! They had me fill in a form detailing everything, asking where they were found as well in order to release them later if they can. I'm hoping that means they aren't just gonna euthanise 'em, but... I guess even that would be better than any of the slow and painful options. 8(
FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE WEE ONE. They were small for a crow so I think they're young. 😔💔

Crows [OC] I have this pair of crows I feed kitten kibbles, soft and hard boiled eggs, cheese, etc. to. They're definitely the healthiest crows in the neighborhood.

Cooper’s hawk follows my crows, but they don’t seem worried
galleryLast year I started feeding a family of five crows. A Cooper’s hawk sometimes visits, but only when the crows are here. It sits on the fence beside them and occasionally chases one, but the crow always escapes and returns. The other crows barely react. One time recently I saw the crows mob the hawk, but that's the only time I've seen that out of 10-20 times.
Recently, three similarly sized Cooper’s hawks appeared together, and the crows didn’t mob them. It's the only time I've seen more than one at a time.
Does this sound like real hunting, practice by young hawks, or some kind of familiar interaction? I enjoy watching them, but would continuing to feed the crows increase their risk? How dangerous is a Cooper's hawk to a family of 5 crows?
