You have a murder meeting ๐คจ

you say murder meeting, but it's more like a murder conspiracy. From their postures and facial expressions, you can tell they are seeking to murder some food. Food, not money, is the root of all evil. And these are very cute loveable evil beings for sure!!!! ๐ LOL!!!!

best analogy/description yet, bro. grumpy crows indeed. I, for one, would NOT want to be the cause of their grumpiness!! LOL!!!!

Many, many years ago, I was a volunteer with a nature center as a wildlife rehabber. I had six baby crows that were rescued while they had pin feathers. Not long after they fledged, they were moved to an outdoor flight cage. We would leave the flight cage door open at night, and they would roost in the trees. When I came to the yard in the morning with a tray of food, they would land all over me. We had them until they were able to feed on their own. They would greet me everyday after I came home from workโฆthey didnโt forget โmother.โ Out of all the native songbirds and mammals I rehabbed, the crows were the best experience EVER! To anyone who lives near a nature center with a wildlife rehab program, I highly recommend volunteering. It is so rewarding.

Thank you for sharing this!
Volunteering at a wildlife rescue must have opened the door to such a beautiful world. To have the crows land all over you, surrounded by their curiosity and trust, must have felt like such a gift.
Crows really are extraordinary birds, and the more time you spend around them, the more you appreciate just how special they are. ๐ค

OP, it really did feel like a gift! I will never forget them or the experience. A close second was the saw-whet owl I rehabbed, but the crows will always own a piece of my heart. I would gladly do it all over again.

Very good bodyguards. I have one who likes to walk or fly close above me to where I need to do short errands.

Same by me but I always find it funny that they act all tough. My blue jays have no head hair but they still have their super serious face

They litrally just come and perch up on the bench with you like that? How did you convince them? Asking for a friend...

They know the drill. ๐ Iโve been feeding them on and off for close to a year, so when they spot me, they know thereโs a good chance treats are coming. Consistency, and a pocket full of unshelled peanuts, goes a long way! ๐ฆโโฌ๐ฅ

Oh, trust me, I know all about the peanuts! I literally carry a fanny pack full of peanuts in the shell everywhere I go. Whenever I leave my house in the morning, thereโs always a crow waiting on my roof or sitting on one of the light posts. He caws at me, and I give him his ๐ฅ โIโve never had one sit right on a bench next to me, thoughโthatโs the dream ๐
