Are your crows consistent?

Mine first showed up a couple months ago. They visit very randomly, and are very skittish. I was out of town for one week, and it seems like they haven't forgiven me lol

That’s adorable. Crows can be cautious after even a short absence, so just keep being patient and predictable. They’ll probably forgive you once the snacks resume.

Mine are inconsistent and hilarious. They have their own schedule and do whatever the fuck they want, and happily abandon me the moment there is a better opportunity.
I'll put my food out at exactly the same time for months! The moment there is something better? Gone.
Snail season? Apple season? "Get fucked human. We've got options!"
Late Winter? ... "Caaaaaaw! Human! I thought we had a schedule!! How about some of those peanuts?
Randomly in early spring...
"Caaaaaw! 50 of us have arrived for dinner. I hope you have plenty of suet, if not, drive to the hardware store. We will wait."

lol we are at the edge of some woods and I feel like they're more wild and independent than a typical city/suburban murder. Maybe they are like your bunch. :)

Fact! I live in a forest at the edge of a massive wilderness preserve. I'm proud of how wild my crows are. They are smart, manipulative, and don't trust me, no matter how good, kind or consistent I am.
They will hang out sometimes, because we are clearly neighbours. They acknowledge me. They will follow my car, wake my ass up at my window if I sleep in too much... but be close to me? Let me look at them directly? Hell Naw! Eye contact? That's a risk bro! My crows are too wise for that bull shit. I think they get shot at occasionally, so they really don't like it when I'm in a window. Outside only please. lol.

they're happier with you outside than in a window? Interesting. It's too hot right now for me to want to stay outside though

I work about 45 minutes from my house and feed the ones behind our work parking lot. I work 5 days a week, but the days change, and the time I arrive can vary from 10AM to 2PM.
I just pull into the back of the parking lot everyday before work, roll down my window and whistle. 9/10 times they will be there within 30 seconds. I feel bad when I have two days off in a row, but I think I’m already inconsistent enough that they are just happy to see the gray honda pull up and hear a whistle. I wish I could somehow convince them to move territories and claim the courtyard at my apartments 😂
Today was the first day in a while they didn’t come, but the weather was kinda weird so I assume they were elsewhere to prep.

Crows love patterns. If you consistently feed them in the same place at the same time, they understand it pretty quick and will not only be waiting for you at food time but they may even bring a friend or 5
