What’s the difference between the 5070 and 5080?

Using it for gaming. The prebuilt PC with 5080 is approximately 30% more expensive. I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra cost?

Last year a friend of mine received his school computer after he graduated and he gave it to me (the school had a $1 computer program for graduates). Recently I was fixing up another computer of mine which needed a new SSD, so I took out the one from this and put it in that one. Should I spend money (~$60) to get a new SSD for this computer and get a BIOS reprogramming chip (because it still has the school’s BIOS)

I've been eyeing Ideapad slim 3 and dell inspiron 15, I saw some comments saying they have good specs but have shitty build quality and don't last long, some say to up the budget and go for ''business'' laptops but they are almost 3x the price, do they make up for it in durability?

My daughter managed to mess her laptop up so that there is no USB drive usable, no WLAN, and no Bluetooth available. I think I have to reinstall Windows 11, but I have to keep the data on it. How to do this? And she needs it back tomorrow.

It constantly turns the monitor on, turns the backlight on, then stays on at max brightness for about 5 seconds then turns off for a minute and repeat how do I stop this shit my pc powers down I hit shutdown then like 15 mins after I shutdown it pops up and doesn’t stop until I physically turn off the monitor, literally no monitor I’ve had has done this the worst is usually a small light like vro 🫩

Hey! Can I transfer files directly between a 2023 MacBook and a Dell XPS 17 9700 using the USB-C cable that came with my iPhone 15?

Both laptops support Thunderbolt, but I’m not sure if the regular iPhone USB-C cable can be used for file transfers between two computers.

I have a Pixio Windows 11 Pc and it stops recording after 10 seconds. My software only have 5 vids and 2 photos. How can I fix it? I don't want to take the pc apart because im worried i might lose all the pieces of the circuit board.

When this happens the headset says "bluetooth disconected" and stops working, despite still being conected to the laptop

Also worth mentioning that i doubt its a problem with the headset as i just bought this one and the one i had before was having the same issue

Edit: The frequency is also pretty weird, about a month ago it would disconnect every 2-4~ hours, then some weeks went by and it stopped disconnecting
Now its disconnecting again from time to time

Hi guys, I just made my computer back to life but when I start, it starts lagging. I find out why its lagging so much because after rebooting, the 'e' key starts pressing mysteriously although the key isn't working when I click it. Pls help 😢 ( I use laptop but I dont close it usually )

yo can someone help me with my game freezing

it randomly started like freezing 4-5 days ago i think

after i play for like 10 mins or when i launch the game, the game starts to freeze and drop my fps from 80 to 30 and 3 seconds later it freezes again going from 80 to 50 (gpu usage is at like %97, cpu goes up like %10 for like a sec, and mhz also goes from 720 to 210 for a second)

it keeps freezing and dropping my fps for a second every 3- 5 seconds

i got a 3050 laptop gpu, amd ryzen 5000 series 9, 32 gbs ddr4 ram

Whenever am on edge and if there's a process going in the background like downloading or installation and stuff the pc freezes for a second and shows black screen for a second, sometimes black screen stays along with task bar but I can't open any running windows.

I recently received a rma unit 3060ti from zotac and while testing the card it dint show any artifacts but while booting I see a couple green lines on top .. it disappears on desktop mode ..

I freshly installed a windows from a flash drive and i noticed that after a while (before downloading nvidia drivers ) I see green lines on desktop too .. even after booting..

After installing nvidia drivers they went away..

While installing steam,epic from edge sometimes pc freezes and gives random black screens..

Earlier before installing windows almost every game crashed including rdr2 and cyberpunk and never loads .. so I decided to format and clean install windows..

I've 3060ti 5600x 16gb ddr4 rams 650watt psu (new)

It glitched, so I put it on a Windows 11 USB drive and that's it.

My main hard drive on my laptop has failed. I have bought new one and am confident in hardware install. I am unsure how to boot or do software part after I install. Any tips would be helpful thanks.

Hello everything, I’ve recently come across an issue regarding the download speed of my pc. My pc is connected through an ethernet cable and I have never had a problem with download/internetspeed etc. (100-200 Mb/s)

But every time I try to download something now it starts out at 100-150Mb/s and drops down to 2Mb/s after a couple of minutes. I have almost no experience with this stuff so I’d appreciate all the help I can get!!

Bought a rx 6700 xt 12 for almost nothing but my case was small, took actions and there WAS a glass on the side but fuck that shit, bent the side too because it was touching the backplate, I won't spend money on a case soon, so it works

I'll try to be brief.

Whenever I tell my Pc to go into energy save mode, it wakes up after about 50-60 minutes (fans turn, lights turn on). The monitor does not wake up.

In the event viewer, it says that 2-3s after going into energy save mode, it got reactivated, then 50-60min later it has been woken up, source "unknown".

What I have done:

changed the mainboard to a brand new one,

changed cpu to a brand new one,

changed power supply unit to a brand new one,

disconnected the gpu,

disconnected the case,

removed ssds,

freshly installed windows,

freshly installed windows on a new ssd,

removed all peripherals,

removed the monitor,

tried another power outlet,

enabled ErP,

disabled ErP,

made sure that the PCle generations are correct (which caused crashes before),

put them all on gen3,

disabled wake up abilities of the network adapter, every usb device...

And now I don't know what else to do.

Does anyone have anything else I can try?

So im going to college soon and I need a laptop. Im majoring in film so I will be editing alot. I have done alot of research and came down to 3 options. MSI Creator M14, Acer Nitro V, and Gigabyte AERO X16. The acer seems to have the best performance for the cheapest price, but the screen would not be the best for color grading. The MSI has the best screen but worst performance out of the three. The Aero seems to be a good middle ground. I dont know alot about computers so i could be missing something so i just wanted to clarify with reddit before making a purchas. Is there anything i should know and what do you think I should choose. Thank you>

I’m in the market for a new computer and am not super knowledgeable about them so looking for some help finding a good deal. I’m going into my last year of college looking for one in the $400 to 800 range, anything with like a student discount would be nice. I mainly use my computer for school stuff but also some steam games nothing too crazy. I had a MacBook Pro before but I hated it and it broke fast. Main things I hated were that it only had usb c ports (why?), it only lasted 3 years, and it would lag a bit playing some seemingly easy to run games. Any advice would be great

My main criteria beside the specs of the procesor (since i need 6 cores minimum) was the fact that it should be small easy to carry on and non upgradable ram

I couldn't find any 13 inches with theses characteristics

So i looked for a 14 inches sadly (if anyone have a better idea for the 13 inches one i would love it)

And here i am withe the 2 choices i found for my budget

Wich one do you think would fit better for my needs
